Epson Update 2.19 has automatically updated itself 81 times since the beginning of November. In addition I get a daily warning that this update has not been made automatically coupled with an invitation to me to install it. How to stop it?

Backstory: Sunday the updates window popped up so I let it run and reboot. Boot screen is stuck on the white screen with apple logo and spinning icon. None of the typical hotkeys were working like the Shift key to go to Safe Mode. I decided to resinstall Snow Leopard which went perfectly fine since I was able to boot off of the Install DVD. Everything seemed fine after the install and I had all of my previous programs and files.
It worked fine all day yesterday until I shut the lid to leave work. I got home, opened the lid and the spinning mouse icon was continuously spinning. I could move the mouse but couldn't click anything. I shut it down using the power button. Upon booting it up I did not hear the boot up sound but a white screen displayed and didn't do anything from there. I rebooted it again, inserted the Snow Leopard DVD to try and boot off of that and it won't even boot off of the DVD. None of the typical hotkeys work either, not even to eject the DVD. I do hear the DVD spinning up but it doesn't do anything; just a white screen.
I did reset the PRAM which forced it to reboot and I got the startup sound back but it still only shows a white screen. Any ideas? I forgot to purchase Apple Care last month before my 1 year warranty ran out so I'm 1.5 months out of that.
My epson workforce 845 printer stopped printing. When I go to print it says printer in use. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I still have error.

I went on a trip, tried to install Kodak printer driver (no success) and now my printer will not work. It shows in my list but I try to print a document I don't have any printers to select. I have tried:
- removing the software and reinstalling (from website and from CD)
- connecting the printer to my computer
- resetting the printer (under System Preferences, right click, reset printing system)
Error message states 'bad file descriptor'.

I have 2 software updates for my Epson CX5000 all-in-one printer listed in the Software update. The Printer Utility file/folder/software is missing. I have done multiple searches with no success in finding it in my iMac with the newly upgraded OSX Mavericks. It is so difficult to get the software for this printer. Unable to get it from the Epson site. Can get only from Mac Software update. Is there a way to remove the software updates which are the same and start anew? Updates are dated June 19th.

Both the port of the Time Capsule and the cabel are OK, as I print with them to Epson SP R800 without any issue...
Time Capsule is correctly recognised on the local WiFi and set with correct password. USB port is working for other printers correctly. Just the 4800 is not recognised. I tried everything (deleting the printer and reseting all printers too)...

double sided printing on mac. Since I changed to a mac, I havent been able to print double sided from my epson sx425w printer. This can be quite annoying if you a lot of pages to print. The double sided print option is just disabled so I cant even select it and I dont have the option of "Duplexer" or "Duplex Printing" as suggested in other posts. Besides, I've not been able to use my scanner since upgrading to Mavericks-I know others have had similar problems too.

As the title says, I have no internet after hitting "update all" on the software update page two days ago. This includes updates to Safari, ibooks, itunes, macbook air EFI and SMC firmware updates. View 4 Replies View RelatedUnder previous OSs (Snow Leopard and earlier that I am familiar with) the Software Update pane let you choose a preferred update and there was a menu item to ignore it, so it wouldn't appear again. I don't see anything similar in the new App Store update system under Mavericks. I am using an older printer driver - OEM, not the generic Apple ones - and definitely don't want to lose it to an update of those infamous generic and mostly useless Apple printer drivers, but I am afraid I might get distracted and update it inadvertently or with others.

Purchased a Macbook Air, one generation back from current, for a new employee. That person has now left the company, and I have re-issued the machine to a new hire.
While the original employee's user account was deleted, and a new user account created for the person the machine was re-issued to, some updates (i.e.: iPhoto, iMovie) still require the original user's login credentials for the app store.
How can I fully transfer this machine to the current user, and make their account the one that the app store requires for these updates ?

So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?
I am trying to install the new updates for Aperture and iPhoto. When I tell software updates to check for updates, it tells me all my software is current. I know there is a new version of Aperture and iPhoto because I installed them two days ago on a different computer.
