Applications :: Convert .flac To .MP3?
Jul 18, 2010I need to convert some lossless .flac files to .MP3 for use in iTunes. The .flac files are of lossless quality obviously and well over 1,000 kbps.
I've searched around and read that XLD is the best app for this. Great!
But, when I use it, the output file is a .wav (I want .MP3, how do I do this) and still encoded at well over 1,000 kbps. How do I make it like 256 kbps and .MP3?

Mar 19, 2010K...So I downloaded XLD to convert my FLAC files to Apple Lossless...But for some reason it is not transferring the whole album. Does anyone have any ideas on why this would be happening?

May 25, 2008I had a quick question. I have a DVD audio disk that was "imaged", a .iso file. When I open it in OSX, it mounts the image as a drive and I can access the files inside. Using VLC I can play the .VOB audio files.I would like to convert the files to either FLAC or MP3 so I can archive them on my computer and also burn them to CD-R as I can't play the DVD-A outside my computer. So I was curious were there are programs/freeware to convert these files.

Jun 11, 2012I also have a $10,000+ stereo system, using a Linn Digital Streamer. My entire music collection is in FLAC, much of it in 24-bit, 192khz. I'd love to buy the new MacBook Pro and use iTunes to manage this collection (as FLAC is the accepted standard for downloadable hi-res music). Unfortunately there STILL isn't FLAC support in iTunes. Looks like I'll have to purchase a Dell XPS instead.

Oct 28, 2010I have fluke to convert flac files to play in itunes. But since the new itunes updates I haven't been able to get them to play like audio tracks. For whatever reason, as soon as I click one to play it pulls up the video player although the video screen remains blank. Fluke worked on older itunes versions, is there a new issue I don't know? Anyway to fix?

But when I go to get info, the album art and lyrics tab is gray and it won't let me click on it. I then tried to change the genre of the audio file. I have exported via Flash 8, but the problem is: It doesn't keep the vectors function. so I have only a video with all flat images and no movement at all. It's just the program creating a bunch of jpeg and joining them all to create a movie effect.

However, when I try and drag those to Toast, and try to burn the files, Toast always gives me an error. My question, how do correctly convert .avi files to dvd format so I can burn to a blank DVD? I want more than one .avi file converted to dvd format on each DVD.

May 27, 2009I recently received a dvd from a meeting with lectures that are in flv format. I would like to convert them for use in iTunes so that they are accessible on the iPhone. A few issues:
The DVD is built in multiple folders. For example
Content / lecture 1204 / video / xxxxxx.flv
Content / lecture 5302 / video / xxxxxx.flv
So the first (and biggest) hurdle is whether I can easily 'grab' all of the flv files (buried in their respective folders) to one directory on my macbook. I then need some advice on converting the flv tracks to mp4 ones. I may opt to go the Quicktime Pro route unless handbrake is capable of this as well.

I need this program because it allows me to use my foot pedal. Using a foot pedal increases my speed. Increased speed means increased salary. Here's the problem: I have a rush file due tomorrow. It came to me in an .wmv format. I cannot ask for it to be converted. This file automatically downloads into quicktime. I have to convert this file to an mp3 so I can open it with my ExpressScribe. I tried using "switch" (offered by the same company that brought me ExpressScribe), however because the file downloads automatically into quicktime I don't know what to do. I need to find a way to save this to my desktop as an mp3 or open it in itunes.
