OS X :: Open Port / Port Forward Leopard Bizarre?
Here's the deal, I am so frustrated. I am trying to open port 59152 for Transmission on my Macbook Pro. I have the latest releases of everything, I am using an Airport Extreme base station with an older airport to boost my signal/connect my tivo w/out a wireless adapter. I have managed to get it open in the past but there was an update or something a month or two ago and at first it was still open and then it closed. I don't know what changed with the update, all I know is that I did n't change anything. I have granted permission for Transmission to accept incoming connections on the firewall, little snitch allows it too. I have lighthouse, which worked at first but now I don't even know why I bother having it run. I have the port mapped through the airport utility. PLEASE don't say to go to portforward.com because they haven't updated the Airport section since Leopard came out, yet every search I do someone repeatedly tells the person needing help to go to [URL] I am going to attach some screen captures so you can see what I've got going on and maybe point out something I've missed.

How do I open a specific port? I'm not just looking at the "common" (first 1,000-ish ports), but also the "unused" ones (like way up in the ten-thousands etc.). How would I do that? My problem is that if I press and hold my eject key on the keyboard the eject symbol shows up and fades away on my screen, but the drive will not open. Mac Safari :: Performance - Take 5 Minutes To Open Excel And Over A Minute To Open A Finder Window
I have been following the discussions about Safari (and Mail) performance problems. In the last month it has gotten substantially worse for me. At first I thought it might be due to a problem introduced in an update. For example, the system may have started looping waiting for response from the network instead of going blocked. Or it could have been that I started using new features like RSS feeds or new widgets. I saw the suggestions to clear cache, restart Safari, and remove ~/Library/Safari/Icons. I did this and it helped somewhat. However, over the next few days response for the whole system went substantially downhill. It got so bad that it would take 5 minutes to open Excel and over a minute to open a finder window. I checked the file system and the permissions with Disk Utility and found there were no problems. The Activitiy Monitor showed that I was using only about 10% of the cpu. I finally emptied my trash which had the Icons folder with approximately 3000 files. ( I don't know how I got that many icons as I surely did not visit that many sites.) Lo and behold the system performance returned to normal. Safari and Mail still like to burn CPU at times, but everything else seems to be working. I have no idea how having the Icon folder in the trash could have caused such a severe problem, but it looks like it might.

Mac Pro :: Wireless Connection Is Very Slow , Every Web Page Open It Take Minutes To Open?
i've just bought my new mac pro, i'm very happy with it's performance, but there is 1 small little tiny problem, i've ordered my mac pro with wireless card, but my wireless connection is very slow , every web page i open it take minutes to open, before i had an imac, the wireless connenction was super fast, then i've sold it to my dad , but my new mac pro is very slow, mention that it's in the same room and in the same place my imac was. i've check my bluetooth, i've send and receive some files with my bluetooth to my moblie, it was great, but when i copy files from my brothers computer it was slow and then it stucks , with my imac this never happens.i opened my mac pro to check the wireless card and i found this:- antenna 1 was in the bluetooth card. antenna 2 was in the upper wireless card. antenna 3 was in the lower wireless card. the weird thing i've found is that my speed connection it goes fast and then is goes slow then fast then slow, it's not stable, another weird thing is that my wireless speed is slow then when i press the wireless bars it goes fast then it returns slow again.this is a really lousy service from apple to make the wireless card as optional , it's really unfair i mean it is the most powerfull mac ever and wireless is not included one more question, is there a difference between the wireless card in the imac and in the mac pro?
