Safari :: 4.1.3 Crashes Within Seconds Everytime
Apr 24, 2012All of a sudden, safari crashed once and now won't open again without crashing seconds later. I cannot update to a newer version because my MacBook is only a 10.4.11. I've tried resetting Safari and removing add-ons. I'm not able to send my error report because Safari won't open for long enough so I'm writing this from my phone. Any other ideas? The first time it crashed, I was just watching a video lecture from my college's website which I do all the time with no problems.

1. System prints PDF files very slowly, about 50 seconds per page, a text only page. Sometimes will just continue sending data to printer as indicated by flashing green light on printer – does not stop sending and printer does not print. Problem also present when try to print PDF files as sent by others over internet (eg TD Bank statements).
2. Unable to cause double sided printing using IMac – no problem with PC.
Trouble shooting:Took the same one page text only file that was very slow in IMac, transferred to PC using a memory stick – connected printer to PC using same USB cable – page starts printing in about 1 seconds – no problems.No difficulty in printing Word files other than no double sided. Think the problems started with OSX Yosemite upgrade and the companion Safari upgrade. Auto update for software is on and no new updates. Old drivers removed and new one installed Tried Apple internet chat to resolve problem – was unable – the user forum indicates others have had difficulties with printing PDF files.

OS X :: Network App Crashes On Startup Everytime?
Dec 17, 2009I've searched everywhere for a solution and I've had it before on another Mac, but can't remember how I solved it. Hope someone recalls the solution for this issue. Please don't suggest updating to 10.5, I'm not investing in a copy just for this old PPC G4 1.2Ghz iBook with a dead Firewire port (another famous iBook flaw).
Problem - Every time I launch Network from the Go menu, it momentarily shows (just a flash) the window and immediately crashes and disappears. Repeated efforts to launch does nothing.
I've deleted the appropriate prefs from the Library and still failure.

It seems to hang and the only way to get out if force quit and even then it hangs before it quits.
Its fine on my MacBook but PMG5 is getting annoying. I have always been a Safari fan but I'm thinking about installing Firefox. Which for me is a giant friggin leap.

OS X :: Folders And Webpages Go Back To The First Page After 3 Seconds?
Nov 17, 2008My Mac has this weird disease that it returns to the first screen by itself after I've opened a couple of windows no mather what software or program I use.
It has nothing to do with my keyboard or mouse, because this problem occurs even when I've pulled everything out of the USB socket.
For example, when I start a movie with VLC Media player it starts over after 3 seconds and it goed to the start of the movie.
Anybody who knows the solution, I just can't find anything about this issue.

Aug 27, 2014I have a MAC V10.9.4 and my FCPX 10.0.8 crashes every time I open it and lasts about 10 seconds. I am making a video reel so there are a lot of different types of videos in it and chopped up into smaller scenes to create a collage of my achievements. Now halfway through, I can't complete it because it keeps crashing and it super annoying because I have a few days to complete. Â

OS X Server V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Every 10 Seconds Samba Crashes?
Mar 16, 2012Windows and other SMB users can no longer connect to 10.6.8 Server Mac Mini. SMB service is "running" in Server Manager, and all settings look correct, and haven't changed since November 2011. Restarting the service doesn't fix it. I'm not a samba expert, so I don't know what to do. Googling the pdb_get_methods_reload error yields all sorts of things, but I'm hesitant to try any of them as I don't want to disrupt any of the other services.Â

Nov 14, 2005The error is confusing; it goes something like: "Cannot link across master page items" and brings me from my page, to the master page and keeps coming up with this same warning each time I try to Undo, or when I try to go back to my body page, it wont let me because of some crossed link?
This is very confusing to describe, but hopefully someone else has had this exact problem and luckily they have been able to fix this problem because when I Force Quit or either revert to last saved (this has happened to me twice now) it crashes Quark and the file is unreadable. I'm thinking of because this linking problem, it makes Quark crash.

Jun 29, 2012I am using a Mac Mini with a Realtek USB wireless dongle to connect to the internet. The software and drivers appear connected perfectly and i see the wireless utility and I can access my wireless network, which says signal strength 100%. I connect to it and it accepts the wireless key. Says connected. Then after a few seconds the connection is lost and it says 'Disconnected'. A few seconds later it connects then disconnects and this continues indefinitely but Safari never allows me to access any webpages.Â

My problem is that on the second page, I would like the document to continue on without any table. I would like for the text to flow from the table into regular margin document on the second page. Is there a way to do this?

Jul 13, 2010I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

when i print more the 2 pages after each page the printer take out 2 blank page and than stops (i have to press its bottom to make it pull the next paper)
if i don't press the bottom or sometime in a middle of the printing page i get an error "the process usb stopped unexpectedly with status 81"
after a while the printer stops and i have to make it start again

Feb 8, 2010my Safari has been acting up almost ever since i upgraded to Snow Leopard months ago. Its kinda bad right now though. I do run multiple programs at once on my macbook white, but it seems everytime i open a new tab (within 5 minute intervals of each opening), my Safari freezes up with the beach ball going for 10+ seconds. Sometimes it takes so long i open up Chrome and pull up the website before Safari even opens the new tab. Also none of the apps i run simultaneously freeze or lag, just Safari.

ITunes :: Everytime Plays A Song?
May 29, 2012I have a Mac Pro 5,1, 16 GB, 2T Startup Drive & three other drives for additional storage and Time Machine.Â
My finder & Dashboard quits and re-starts every time iTunes plays a new song. The screen goes completely gray & blank under whatever I may have open. It lasts only momentarily, but is quite annoying. As part of the troubleshooting, I ran Disk Utility. Checked permissions which were OK. Checked verify disk & got result that the disk is corrupt & should be repaired. When I tried to start my computer from the Recovery disk (using the Option key), it would not start (going instead to a gray patterened screen). I tried this several times & one time it did go to the screen showing the Recovery disk and my startup disk. But when I selected the Recovery disk, it went to the gray patterned screen again. I then connected my Mac Pro to my MacBook Pro & booted the Mac Pro to Target Disk mode. When I ran Disk Utility Repair Disk on the Mac Pro's startup disk, the result showed no problem with the disk. I'm not sure where to go from here, so I can use some help.

Nov 15, 2004I have been having some sluggish performance recently and I'm guessing it could be something to do with memory allocation. I have been reading a few things on this board and have found that page ins/outs can have an effect on performance (although I'm still not entirely sure what it all means).
I have closed all my applications except for my browser and the activity viewer to see what is going on. My page readings on the system memory page state:
Page ins/outs 182139/247702.
I have read somewhere that if you have more page outs than ins then you have a problem. Therefore my questions are:
a. Is this actually true and what do page in/outs actually mean?
b. I currently own an eMac 1.25ghz with 512 RAM, running OS 10.3.5.
