Ive tried over and over to upgrade. I uninstalled the old flashplayer, installed the new version, did a disk repair and nothing. The only way for me to view a flv video is to go to “open with” and use Realplayer. It says it’s successfully installed but when I try to view a video the only thing that happens is that another window pops up that is completely blank but has a title that reads:

have in the past few weeks uprgraded from tiger to leopard.Everything has been ok but i think i might have deleted some vital part of Quicktime player when i tried to clean up.I only realised this when i decided to get Quicktime player pro which i have paid for and have the key..I have tried to download quicktime from apple support website and just about any other website for that matter but zero.zilch.Installer takes me through the process but i get no player.
I have tried to remove all components of quicktime but to no avail.the download intalls but goes nowhere.Have tried to maybe 'jumpstart' it by double clicking quicktime time movies but there is just nothing going on.

Info: quicktime or windows media player , Windows XP, camera digital films won't play
I have an iMac g4 800mhz, 768 mb of ram 40 gb internal HD and 250 gb external HD. I plan on upgrading to Tiger this wednesday. Also, my mac has been a bit quirky over the last year or so. The internal HD seems to almost spin constantly. It spins and spins....spins down, then right back up again. Weird. Once in a while the apps act strange as well. So, I plan on doing a clean install of Tiger. Everything is backed up on the external HD.
My question is, does anybody know how Tiger will run on my system? Will doing a clean install eliminate these "quirks"? And finally, will quicktime 7 finally run smooth with the upgrade? Right now, Quicktime isn't as smooth as it used to be with Quicktime 6.
So i finally got around to upgrading a couple of my powerbook g4's. Im upgrading a powerbook g4 from tiger to leopard. My question is how can i do a full reformat (not the archive install) and keep all the programs i have on it like ms office and adobe?
I don't recall ever installing iLife when I got my Macbook which was running Tiger. Now, I'm running SL and want my iMovie back. I have my original install disks for Tiger, is iLife06 on there? Can I install it from the Tiger disks onto my machine now?
I'm selling a Tiger disc and it says "Tiger with Xcode" on the disc. Is this a normal disc or what is it? I have other Tiger discs on CD and I don't think they have Xcode.
I copied the os 9 classic from my g3 desktop to my iBook. When I Open the application it get all the way to the end and then the program shuts down got an ideas to solve that problem.
I am wanting to revert back to Tiger from Leopard. What is the best way to accomplish this safely? I use iCal extensively and Apple really messed with it. The added features in Leopard do not add enough real functionality to make me willing to lose solid features.
When I attempt to upgrade my Tiger installation on my 24 inch iMac, when I get to the "Select a Destination Drive" screen during the install process, my hard drive doesn't show up.
I have disconnected any external USB drives, and I have repaired my main hard drive. Has any one had any similar problems? Any suggestions?
I just got a Quad 2.5Ghz G5 and it has Leopard installed.I have certain software that I need to pay for an upgrade to make it work in LeopardI can't afford that at the moment and would like to downgrade to Tigerwhich all of the software will work just fine. The problem is that every time I try to do a clean install for Tiger (Retail DVD)it gives me a kernel panic every time.could anyone tell me the right way on how to downgrade to Tiger?
i've got a powerbookG4 , just reinstaled my osx , made a simple software update . and everything started to go wrong. first my itunes, then my safari , even some utilities don't work .
I'm wondering if it is possible to install different MAC OS versions (for example, having Leopard and Tiger OS X) on the same computer, as you usually do with different versions of Windows just making some partitions. Is it possible? If yes... how?
On an G4 iBook I was wondering what advangtes running Tiger over Panther are. I maxed out the RAM to have a total of 1.12 GB. I am running Tiger now but it slows down if I fire up more than 5 apps at the same time. I was thinking Panther would run better. All I do is internet, email, word processing, spreadsheets, listening to music and playing old games.
I'll be getting my Power Mac G5 from the mail soon, and I was wondering which version of Skype would be compatible with a DC 2.3 GHz Power Mac G5 with 1GB Memory running Tiger? Would Skype v3.x be compatible or would I have to go even further?
I got a G4 iMac with a 1ghz powerPC and 512MB ram for Christmas - it came with Leopard.
It's not horrible slow but you can tell it's trudging along quite choppily at times (when I try to load anything in flash or youtube it can't handle it).
Would I be better off going to Tiger? I've never used Tiger before - would my experience on Tiger be horrible compared to Leopard?
I am running Tiger and I dont know if I am being thick but my images thumbnail in Finder just show a white square with the file type, Tiff, Jpeg, Raw unless I have saved them in Photoshop, then they are actual thumbnails of my images. Is it possible for them all to show as proper thumbnails as soon as I import them from my CF cards?
As you read this im haveing a terrible time on a sawtooth 400 that was hit by lighning in a storm and is now plauged with freezeing problems. So regretting to turn back to windows i made a quick steal of ebay for a dual 500 g4 + a super drive that burns dvds at 16x!! Im not no power user by anymeans i chat with adium x and use safari and do an occasinal bittorrent (legal of course) but the orignal problem with the g4 400 before the lighning struck it was VERRY SLOW! and I HATE waiting and it thought because of the dual prossesers it would move it along (and Low End Mac says pick a dual 500 over a single 700) so tell me if im gunna need to upgrade it.
I am planning on upgrading to Leopard soon, but I really hate the front row graphical interface of Leopard. Is there a way to get the Tiger's interface in Leopard?
I have a Mac Pro and am having several annoying problems. I'm new to Macs and I probably messed up my installation so I would like to start from scratch and reinstall Leopard on a brand new drive. Here's my question.. I would like to remove the old drive from bay 1 and replace it wit the new drive. After I install Leopard on the new drive can I put the old drive in the currently empty bay 4? Will I then be able to boot into either drive? The reason being that until I get the new installation configured properly and all my applications reinstalled, I may need access to the old installation. If this scenario will work, how do I select which volume to boot at start up?
