I am looking for a good photo viewer for Mac. Windows has tons of free viewers that lets you rotate or crop while you browse thru your photo. I am looking for something that when I click on a photo in Finder, I can easily rotate it zoom in
I had Adobe Reader on my MacBook Pro and it was fine until the latest software update. Now it won't show virtually any .pdf downloaded from the internet even if I "trust" the site.
I have removed it from my Mac even thought Adobe gives no support on how to uninstall. I just want to set Preview up as my default .pdf viewer.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Aperture library 62,000+ photos. Main photos stored in directories (not in Aperture library)
Question to resolve: When I am using Aperture at time when in "Split view" or "Viewer" mode my photo selected will be of a previous photo l have looked at or just static screen( fuzzy bunch of lines).
I can correct this by restarting Aperture but the fix does not last long. The am not sure what changes the duration of the messed up viewer (cycling photos, sleep the laptop, ect.) But at times the fix might last a day or two other times only minutes. If left alone it has never fixed it self with out a restart of Aperture. I have repaired permissions and completed a library rebuild.
This condition only started with the update to Yosemite
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
Installing the latest Adobe Reader causes Preview to be overwritten by Reader as the default PDF reader in Safari. There's a setting in Adobe Reader prefs that should aloow one to change the setting, but it is greyed out. You'll need to go to your HD/Library/Internet Plug-in folder and remove the Adobe plug-ins. Quit and restart Safari, then Preview is default again.
Some time ago I learned of a technique to insert text (caption) into the body of a photo. I am pretty sure it used Preview, but I cannot get any further than that. Can someone guide me through that again?
This is probably fixed in Leopard, but I still run Tiger so I was hoping someone could point me towards an alternative to Preview? I hate the fact that I open a folder containing pictures (which aren't imported to iPhoto), and i have to select all the photos in order for them to be viewable in the same window in Preview. I know I know, im lazy, but seriously, you don't need to have that extra step in order to be able to scroll through the pictures. On Windows you just double click the picture and then all you have to do is click left or right to view the next photo in the folder. Is there any program strictly for viewing photos like preview?
Prior to learning how to use the 'watermark' tool in Aperture, I used the Annotations Option in Preview on Maverick OS. How to remove the annotation on my photos? I am finding information on removing them from PDF's but not from photos.

I scanned a few images and saved them on my mac. Some of them were upside down so I fixed them up, saved them and sent them to my ipod touch. When I view the pictures on the ipod i still see them upside down. Formatted JPEG.
I have downloaded loads of new effects for photo booth and then was looking for some more and the single qtz files which are placed in the Library/Compositions folder show up as a grey screen (see attachment) in the preview but are fine when you click on them. So does anyone know how I can get the preview of these to show up, or even to paste a picture in the box?! Also, does anyone know where I can download some single qtz files to add to photo booth as well?
When I open a photo with Preview, it opens all the photos I have viewed previously. How can I prevent that, other than manually clearing the list after each time?
I ahve June 2009 UMBP running Snow Leopard. Can someone give me an idiots step by step guide on how I can make a copy of the photo's in my iphoto collection and put them on a blank DVD? I have tried copy & paste but this leaves a small "tick" at the bottom corner of each pic and I am not sure what this means?
If I wanted to post on a forum a picture I need to have the image text and use that to insert the image itself. How do I get the image text from iPhoto, Photobooth, and Preview?
As in taking a picture where something in the pic points to the right and flipping it so that it points left? I've been trying and can't seem to find out how to do it. On other programs, this is a basic option.
I have the same photo in 2 different albums. I want to hide it one album but not the other. But when I hide it in one album it automatically hides it on both. Can anyone help me.
I have iphoto 9.5.1 and am trying to email a photo from it. My Mac is an OS X 10.9.4 There are no updates available..I receive the message "emai did not got through because server did not reply."
And it tells me to check my internet connection. I believe that is working fine because I can get on the internet..I have verizon. I'm assuming my server is working because I can send and receive email
Info: iPhoto '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), iphoto9.5.1
i use Preview to open most of my pics outside of iPhoto. my question is this- how can i get the icons of all my jpegs to show a little thumbnail of the actual pic? right now, i don't know what the pic is until i open it because all that is displayed is the generic thumbnail icon for preview. a bit of a pain...
thinking of upgrading to iPhoto 11 and just want to make sure that the ability to make calendars is still there. On [URL] it mentions books and cards but can't find any references to calandars.
Don't know if anyone has made an album using iPhoto yet, but if you haven't, you should. I needed some additional portfolios to place around some places where my images are displayed, and I was really getting tired of making my own.
The quality is very good - I got the hardbound 20-page book with black pages and it looks awesome. My only complaint id that they are currently having problems accepting books with Type 1 post script fonts.Had the book in three days after ordering it right through iPhoto.
I need to figure out how to add text to a photo book project in iphoto. I want to send this as a gift to my father... I chose my initial layout, added pages (in a particular order of photos on a time line) and there isnt alot of text in the layout i chose.
I would love to add text to the photos/pages but cant seem to figure it out.
When I click to open the application it says that the photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. So I have the choice to upgrade. But I can't click it because another screen pops up saying that iPhoto quit unexpectedly. I can ignore it, send a report, or relaunch the application. This happens every single time, and I can no longer access my photo library.
I'm going to be teaching a number of staff at the local high school (which is going over to the Apple platform from Novell) how to use iPhoto but, I don't want to use any of my personal photos as examples. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where I could find the sample photos that are loaded onto macs in the Apple store.
I m new to Mac application. The most headache part is i m unable to import my photos from iPhone 3Gs into iPhoto. Why does this happen? Is the setting of Mac itself or problem with my iPhone?
I have went to Mac shop for assistant, i have spent 2 hours there but the assistant was unable to solve the problem as well.
