Aperture library 62,000+ photos. Main photos stored in directories (not in Aperture library)Â
Question to resolve: When I am using Aperture at time when in "Split view" or "Viewer" mode my photo selected will be of a previous photo l have looked at or just static screen( fuzzy bunch of lines).
I can correct this by restarting Aperture but the fix does not last long. The am not sure what changes the duration of the messed up viewer (cycling photos, sleep the laptop, ect.)Â But at times the fix might last a day or two other times only minutes. If left alone it has never fixed it self with out a restart of Aperture. I have repaired permissions and completed a library rebuild.
This condition only started with the update to Yosemite

Jul 1, 2012Quicktime got corrupted, so i downloaded passifist and extracted it again from the install disk. the result was a complete quicktime that had all the files, but wouldnt open. How do i fix this? should i redownload mac OS X Lion to fix it or will it fix itself when mountain lion comes out?

Oct 18, 2010Today I tried opening my keynotes presentation file to make amendments to it and when I double clicked on it, the program loading bar only loaded up a third of the way and then hanged. I then tried to save it to a flash drive and use it on a different computer, but when I tried to copy it over to the flash drive it gave me this error: "the finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "garment styles" could not be read or written error code - 36".
I have tried changing the file extension to a zip, then unzipping it and then renaming it but that did not work.(It wouldn't let me unzip it). I have also looked at the index file name to see if that was the problem, but that is as it should be.
I have also tried uploading it to a website and emailing it and it will not let me.
Is there anyway I can recover this file as I have been working on it for over a month and it is due next week, or will I need to start again?

Apr 23, 2010I got my new Macbook Air today, and I downloaded some effects off of Apple and then also some from Cateye. But for some of the rainbow-y colored ones, the picture turns out inverted? This includes: Magicball, Coloido, Christmas, Tryptamine, Retro: Trippy, Retro: Rainbow Tee (my favorite!), Ocean, City Lights, etc. At first I thought this was a problem from the site I downloaded it from, but then I downloaded two sets from two different sites and both sets have effecs with this weird inverted-glitch.

Apr 11, 2009I've been using my macbook for a few months right now, and primarily use it for recording me and my band-mates on Logic express, but now, I've not been able to use my iSight on my mac. I don't know what's wrong with it, because I've always been able to take photos with friends in Photo Booth and take movies with it as well. Up till now that is. A few days ago I tried to open up Photo Booth and snap a picture, but all I got was a blank screen. The program would count down, but the screen would just be white instead of showing what it would take. The little green light next to it would go on as well, but it wouldn't take a picture, and nothing is blocking the screen either.

Oct 24, 2009I am new to macs. I clicked "software update" and it downloaded 9 things. everything from iworks 09 to itunes and mac os X update. After it downloads it says "some of the selected uopdates could not be expanded and verified. it may have been corrupted during download etc. The update will be download and checked next time " I have done this like 5 times in a row and the i get the same message. Since I am new to mac I have no idea how to debug this. Can someone tell me what I am supposed toi do now? . Also if i uncheck all except one (like imove) I get the same message about the file being corrupted. When I check only tghe mac OS X update and it then asks to restart the computer, it again gives the message saying an unknown error has occurred and it couldnt be installed.

Apr 13, 2012I am experiencing difficulties downloading a song from the iTunes Marketplace on my MacBook Pro. I recently purchased a new album by Of Monsters and Men and track 4 of the Album 'Slow And Stead' refuses to complete. I keep receiving an error: "There was a problem downloading 'Slow and Stead / My Head Is An Animal / Of Monsters and Men' The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose 'Check for Available Downloads' from the Store menu." On the download page of iTunes it reads: zero kb of 10.2 MB - stopped (err = -100000).
I have attempted to download this file numerous times and nothing has worked. Here is what I have done so far: I have contacted iTunes support to report the problem. It has not been several days and no response.I have gone to the Disk Utility and did the Repair Disk Permissions option.I went to UsersUserMusiciTunesiTunes MusicDownloads and deleted and files that were located in this location. Anytime I did a deletion or repair I have restarted my computer. I have run out of options on what I need to do next.

Sep 15, 2009For the past few months, I've tried to restore my iPod Classic because it randomly restarts itself, not to mention moving on the following song during the middle of a song that is already playing. However, it seems iTunes won't restore it. The following message appears every time I try to do this:

But that website simply doesn't help me out. I've taken my iMac to a Genius and he basically said that something is corrupted in OS X. I should mention the fact that programs such as Onyx and Maintenance claim that I am not the admin when in fact, my account is the only account on the computer. The funny thing was that I created a new account and restored the iPod through there, it would work just fine.
So, besides that long explanation of my problem, is there anyway I can fix this without having to resort to placing all my files on an external and installing a clean copy of OS X? Would archiving and installing back to Leopard do the trick?

Oct 6, 2009Basically, I wanted to combine two pictures (copying and pasting one over part of the other) and post it on Facebook. Problem is, I couldn't figure out how to do this in iPhoto. Luckily, I realized that I could do this easily in a program called OpenOffice.org Draw. However, I can't post it to Facebook (I'm assuming because Facebook doesn't recognize an .odg file as a picture). My question is, is there any way to convert this type of file into a picture type that I could load onto Facebook? I've seen some converters online but couldn't find any that are Mac compatible.

Every time I click on the attachment icon or button in the menu, it puts the picture in the body of the email. She needs to have it as an attachment that she can download onto her computer. There has to be a way to do this, I am just not figuring it out. Could someone please give me some insight? I have tried saving to a file and attaching it from there, tried view image as an icon, but nothing seems to be working. She also needs it in a bigger file, which I think will be solved once I can attach the file without being in the body of the text. How would I make a bigger file, from 131 KB to say 400 KB?
