I'm going to University next September (hopefully), and I want to be able to play my PS3 on my Macbook display (instead of taking my massive TV).
And I'd also like to be able to connect my freeview box which is a RCA/Scart connection. My PS3 is also RCA/Scart.
So is there adapter of some sort which will let me do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo our church just purchased a nice refurb iMac to use for media presentations during weekly worship services. We have a projector with a VGA cable, so I bought a mini display port to VGA adapter from apple so that we can connect our shiny new iMac to our big screen.
However, when we attempt to connect our VGA to our adapter, they don't fit together properly. It's like the screws on the VGA cable aren't long enough to screw into the adapter...thus, the cable won't stay connected to the adapter (it just falls out).
Someone suggested getting an S cable to replace the VGA cable, but Apple tells me there's no adapter to link the S cable to the iMac. I'm absolutely clueless...surely there is a way to connect my wonderful new iMac to the big screen.
Any ideas?

I just purchased a 13" MacBook Pro. When I attempt to use a TV as an external display, I get a flickering blue screen on my MacBook, and absolutely NOTHING on the television. I am using a Moshi adapter that I purchased from the Apple Store. Despite HOURS on the phone with tech support, I can't get this to work. I know neither the adapter nor the cable are defective. Does anyone have a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an external display with my MacBook Pro, using the DVI/VGA adapter.
My problem is that the display is a little bit blurry. It's not awful, but for example the display of the MBP itself is very crisp and clear so that's what I'm judging it against. Looking at text on the external monitor, some of the letters are reasonably clear, some are a little bit out of focus, and occasionally there is a fairly clear line like on the vertical of a t or an l. I'm sure there is a pattern to this but I couldn't tell you what exactly.
I'm using a Samsung Syncmaster 940NW widescreen display (the cheapest one I could find!) I have the MBP closed and I'm using Bluetooth kbd and mouse.
I've noticed that none of the resolutions available on the external display match the resolutions available on the MBP. The default res of the MBP is 1440 x 900 - I can get close (1344 x 1008, 60 Hz) to this but it seems none of the options on the display is the same as the ones available on the MBP's own display. Is this the reason for the blurriness?
I can still do work even with it looking this way, but I wondered if there's anything I can do to improve it.
I'm looking for a mini-display to hdmi adapter that will handle both video and audio. Does anyone know of one that for sure works?

My External Monitor has both inputs.
It's a 22" Widescreen Acer that I got for free.
It's had problems waking from sleep from my old PC, using a DVI cable, but works fine waking from sleep from my work PC notebook, using a VGA cable.. Not sure if this is the issue or not.
I just want the adapter for my MBP that will most likely have fewer issues.
What do you think?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 6 year old PowerBook G4 12" (Model 6,1) hooked up to a 20" VGA display using the Apple Mini-DVI to VGA adapter that came with the computer. Perfect performance for several years. I now want to hook up my early 2008 Black MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz. (Model 3,1) to the same monitor. The "Mini-DVI" connector on the MacBook computer does not mate with my adapter! It is real close in size and shape, but is obviously a different connector design.
The MacBook manual says the display port is a "Mini-DVI". The older PowerBook manual also says it's display port is a "Mini-DVI." Apple's site implies that the two computers require the same adapter, but that is obviously wrong. Some of the product reviews say that the Apple information is wrong, but no one has posted the correct information (part number). Is there an adapter for the black MacBook to VGA? I've spent all afternoon searching (including here an MacRumors) for the real part number for an adapter. No luck. Despite its description, I hooked it up to my receiver and it does NOT pass audio through. I've been hunting around and all I've found so far is one Youtube video of a guy with an adapter that worked (in the sound section of the system preferences, it shows another option for output that I didn't have), but not what adapter it was.
I have recently bought a 13" Macbook Pro and wanted to hook up an external display (an oldish acer 19"). I have a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter hooked up to a DVI -VGA adapter which leads to the display. I haven't got it to work yet. I have followed advice about closing the lid and using usb mouse and keyboard with no luck. The only thing that happens is that the screen on the laptop flashes blue for about a second after plugging in the Mini DisplayPort adapter.

The other connections work (e.g ethernet and USB) but it looks the the Mini DisplayPort is off alignment with the aluminum enclosure. I know I'm not going crazy because it connected before I had to send it in.
