Im currently doing some video converting using handbrake and I was just wondering if its ok to do this for a prolonged period of time? I have 7 movies to do, and am currently on the 3rd one. They take about 30 minutes each to complete and my cpu is currently at 84C. It fluctuates anywhere from 80C to 87C. Im just wondering if I should maybe give the cpu a break or if I can just do them all in one sitting?

Keep menus and extra features (For my Star Wars DVDs )
Back them all up
So Which program would be perfect/close to what I need or does anyone have any other recommendations?
The only problem I'm having so far is converting videos for my Nokia N810 (Internet Tablet). I used handbrake to rip my personal dvd's and tried using Internet Tablet Video Converter to convert the AVI files for viewing on my N810. When the final file is transfer, all I can see on my tablet is a blank screen, no audio, the file doesn't seem to play at all. Does anyone have the correct handbrake settings for my issue?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a HUGE collection of DVDs and i bought a portable HDD to back them up onto. So i have like 13 done and when i went to try the 14th to make sure video quality was there, there was no video quality. There was no audio and the picture looked like an itunes visualizer. I was wondering if this was a handbreak issue or because it was a newer DVD with some sort of protection on it. It was I AM LEGEND and the other movies i ripped were like John Wayne classics and movies from the 90s.

I'm looking at getting the highest video & audio quality (space is not an issue)
but i notice when i ripped from the raw dvd rip form MacTheRipper to m4v h264 in Handbrake; the video quality looks pretty solid, however the audio sounds alittle lower and not as high quality as the dvd rip.
kind of like it took quite a bit of a hit.
so im wondering if anyone knew how to preserve each audio & video when converting to m4v from dvd rips?
What is the best export method (file type and settings) for exporting HD video to be converted using Handbrake? I use handbrake to convert my HD video to be played on my iPad. And I want to edit the video first in iMovie, then export the movie to handbrake to be converted to play on my iPad.
My biggest concern is exporting from iMovie, I want the best possibly quality.
Does anyone know how to extract audio from video files? I can't seem to do it from within the Handbrake GUI - is there a command line way of doing it? Otherwise, what's a program that can do it? Obviously I could use Audio Hijack, but I'd rather not have the quality loss that comes with re-encoding.

can this be done? I need to put a few backed up dvd's back onto dvd's cause i already got rid of them and i cannot watch the appletv handbrake version over at certain friends houses.
I tried doing the video files as data but they still show up with the .mp4 at the end and the dvd player will not recognize them.

I read that toast titanium does a good job of converting any video file to dvd but you can not download it to try it out, you just have to buy it. I do not want to waste my money if it does not turn out to be the quality I am looking for.
Any suggestions of any programs that does this task and performs well?

I was wondering if anyone has made the effort to actually convert their entire library of videos into m4v format so that it's all apple hardware compatible or if you have duplicates of everything to preserve high quality 'originals' and lower quality iphone/ipod conversions etc.
Just a simple question of how you manage your video library I suppose. I also wonder if anyone even uses iTunes to manage their videos? There are many video converters on mac but I 've not found something to suit my needs.

Sometimes we do not want just a beautiful interface but also get the job done the way we want it.
So this is what I want:
- specify the exact video format I want my video to be converted. Not just a selection 'for ipod, for apple tv' and so on. So what? Am I supposed to make several conversions in order to see what each so labeled options mean in reality? I try to export to .mp4 and this should be a straightforward process.
- most important: limit output filesize. Specify the desirable filesize and converter should output a file that has this filesize. If anyone has seen convertxtodvd in windows, he should understand what I mean.
Can anyone tell me what software to use to get the *.mov format into a format that a standard dvd player can pickup.

I'm new here and I've done a little searching and can't find an exact answer to my situation:I want to convert my video from my iMac and my iBook to my 37" LCD HDTV (Vizio) which has a VGA input already on it.Now, I have a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter already for my iBook, however, the adapter will not work on the Mini-DVI port on my iMac.

I found one called mpegstream clip which is good, but it seems to only do one at a time, it there a feature in it that can do more than one at a time? One at a time is ok for 4 videos or less, but when I have more than that it can get a little tedious. Specifically, I need something that can batch convert my mpg movies files my point & shoot digicam can take to a format that imovie 09 will import & work with.
