iPhoto detects my camera and will import photos, but seems the videos are coming up as incompatible.

Jul 20, 2009I have only been a Mac owner for a couple of months, and I'm trying to figure out how to do basic video editing. I just bought a Canon Vixia HF s100 to replace a miniDVD type camcorder that was arbitrarily corrupting entire disks of video. Just now I tried to upload the first few clips that I've taken with the camcorder, and I think I somehow lost all the info that was on the card.
I have a card reader that I use for my photos, so I used that with the SDHC card based off of info someone had posted on this forum. Then I watched the imovie tutorial and decided I should've just plugged in the camcorder with the card in it and uploaded that way. When I put the card back in the camcorder it shows zero clips where there had been several.
I hope this makes some sense. . . does anyone know what I did wrong and if my video is lost forever??

Feb 16, 2010Whenever i upload a video to youtube, it stops about halfway through or part way through and literally STOPS. the progress bar just wont move or change. it is very frustrating. i use a wireless connection, and even when i literally sit right next to the wireless box, the problem occurs, the videos have ranged from 5 mins to 10 mins. it has occured on both safari and firefox.

If I put the same CD in My Mom or Dad's Macbook pro's it reads it and uploads it as expected. I took one of my parent's random CDr's & it uploaded to my itunes just fine. It seems to be only the CDr's that I really want to upload.

Sep 8, 2014Just got a MacBook Pro. It hasn't been able to upload pics, attachments to any website. Facebook, Gmail, Google+, ect. It was like this out of the box. I have tried Mountain Lion, Mavericks & Yosemite Beta 2 and then Internet Recovery back to Mountain Lion & currently on Mavericks. Same on all OS versions. Also the same on Chrome, Firefox & Opera. Tried 2 different routers..same results. No other device on my network has this issue. In a Facebook message it will send stickers but not photos or files. The photo & attachment progress bars on Facebook, Gmail, ect get stuck at about 50% after hitting send and then fail. The firewall is off. Downloads are perfect.

Sep 6, 2014I recently had some issues with my Mac Book Pro and I had to delete my entire Hard Drive. Using Disk Utility I backed it up first by taking a disk image of it all. I fixed my computer and now I am trying to work out how I can re-install my Hard Drive.
I open up the disk image, which takes hours to verify because there is so much stuff on it, and all my stuff is there. However, it doesn't update my computer to be how it was before and also it doesn't stay there, acting more like an external drive, so when I turn off my computer and then on again I need to go through the whole verification process.
How to use this disk image to go back to how my computer was set up?
