OS X V10.7 Lion :: JPEG Image Deleted When Forward Email Message
Jun 10, 2012I am having a problem when attempting to forward email messages in Mail. If the message has jpeg photos I can view, but when forwarding the jpeg is deleted and the message "missing plug-in" appears in its place. How or where to correct this problem and have not seen similar discussions posted.

Mar 11, 2010I am having problems with Preview and Snow Leopard. I can use Quick View to view jpeg files, but when I open them with preview. It does not display the correct image. It just displays a gray block. The only way to resolves this is to delete the preview prefernce files, and then it works. But after a couple of restarts it goes back to not displaying the correct image.

Jun 21, 2014I have a newly refurbished emac running the latest OSX 10.9.3. I used to be able to move images from iPhoto to the desktop and using Preview change the file size. I need to do this to upload images of a specific size to a website. Now Preview will not save the adjusted image size. I adjust the size from a 5 meg image to a 1.5 meg image but when I go to upload the image it is still 5 meg. I try saving it before closing it but it doesn't do anything (by the way I hate the new options or lack thereof when it comes to saving in Preview)

Nov 14, 2009Every time I try to drag and drop a jpeg into an email I am composing it shrinks it. I have also tried adding jpeg's to iphoto and then emailing them through the button on the bottom. iphoto even asks me whether to use the original size, but when the email comes out on the other end it is always considerably smaller. When I add pdf's it keeps it original size. Does anyone have any advice?

May 17, 2012I am taking a logo and trying to attach a hyperlink to it's web address.I created the letter in Pages and then copied it to mac email. Pages will only let me embed hyperlink into text.So I made a line "click here" next to the logo and linked it to that. It works fine but when emailing it the logos don't arrive on the receiving end. I see them in the email when I send it, but not the receiver.

The recipient if is not using Mac Mail receives the signature always as an attachment. I am using rich text format message since there is no html in Mac and I drag and drop the jpg to the signature creation window. I have also activated Send Windows -Friendly attachmend but the recipient keeps receiving the logo as attached and not inline.Â

PowerPC :: Need To Restart G4 After Disk Image Transfer
Feb 6, 2008I am having problems booting my 700 mhz G4 Flat Panel Mac after connecting to my new Mac via Firewire to transfer a disk image of OS 10.4 I made from the DVD supplied with my new Mac. I was driven to trying this solution to upgrading my old Mac (from 10.2 to 10.4) after:
1) not being able to purchase a retail copy from Apple
2) not having a DVD drive on the old machine anyway, so connecting an external DVD drive and trying to load the OS software from the DVD install disks that came with my new Mac (old Mac saw the drive, tried to open the file but didn't know how)
So I learned about making a disk image of the DVD, which I did, then learned about connecting the 2 machines via firewire and starting up the old machine as a target disk. This all seemed to be working fine. The target disk image showed up on the new machine, I was able to drag the OS disk image to it and it appeared to copy the contents to the old machine. When I unplugged the Firewire and restarted the old machine it starting booting normally then just stopped, with a "You must restart your computer" message popping up on the screen. I have tried to restart the old machine several times with the same results and have unplugged the power then tried it again as well. Being far less than an expert at this I realize there are several ways this could have gone wrong, which is why included all the info. above - just wasn't sure which actions were relevant to helping figure out what to do next to get my old machine to boot, which is my most immediate problem. Dealing with the OS upgrade issue is also a concern.

Jan 5, 2011I have found many instructions on how to transfer your entire email "mail" folder from one mac to another... However, I need to simply transfer only one folder of emails from the 1st mac to a 2nd mac. I'm concerned that if I follow the instructions for copying the whole enchilada (copy and move "mail" from 1st mac to library on 2nd mac, and copy and move "com.apple.mail.plist" from 1st mac to preferences on 2nd mac), I might mess up or replace all the mail on the mac I'm trying to transfer this one folder to!

Oct 18, 2009Looking for something I can setup to transfer files from my home iMac to my folks' MBP over the internet. We use iChat (via Google mail) often, and I "take over" their MBP to perform maintenance and just generally help them when they get stuck (they're not very computer literate) however, I would like to have a way to transfer files that are too big to email to their machine i.e. video clips etc.
Any recommendation for some sort of FTP application I've used FTP software on Windows machines before, just haven't used anything on macs yet.

I can move the messages from Mail Library into the newer Mac Mail Library (via home wireless network), but when I open Mail program on the new iMac the Emails don't show up in the Mailbox I transferred them to. I can see the messages in Mail Library and even read them if I double click on the message, but I can't see them in the Mail program.Is there a compatibility issue between Leopard and Snow Leopard?

There is also an email program installed by the Mac staff where I bought machine, which works off Safari, which has been set to open its first page on the Embarq page. Finally, also on advice of Mac staff, I have email program in Thunderbird from Mozilla. That seems easiest to use, but all the files holding addresses and group lists are on one of the other two. Have tried to move them to Thunderbird. No luck. Wont work. Would like to combine them all on Thunderbird. Could someone suggest if this is possible, so as to avoid adding new addresses (over 400 at this point) one at a time?
