Jan 28, 2009I have one of the newest MacBooks
and I recently got a job in ARIZONA
in Security. Much to my dismay, I learned that similarly to
what Police officers have to do, I'll have to do ALOT of paperwork! Most people in my new employ do it all by hand.
However my thought is that since so much of it is repetitious, why-not copy/paste the info on my MacBook?
I will be working at night, yet during the summer, it can still remain between 100-120degrees!
So my question is, can a new MacBook hang with that?
How about the LCD screen? Can it hang?
I don't want to sacrifice my Mac if this is too much heat!
IMac :: Highest Temprature / How To Cool It
Oct 9, 2009My fans have been really loud lately and that got me worried so I downloaded iStat and my temperatures are as follows
HD: 48
CPU: 41
CPU Heatskin: 42
Airport Card: 43 (But it was at one point 60!)
Ambient: 24
GPU: 54
GPU Diode: 55
GPU Heatskin: 53.
I have an iMac 2.4 GHz Core 2, couldn't tell you the size of the screen but if thats needed. I'll find out.
Please let me know if I should take this in to the Genuises and see if my fans need replacement, or something the numbers aren't very high right now, but they do tend to get higher, like HD could get up to 50 at times.

It has meant that my original address book is now blank and I am unsure what other programs may have been affected. I am unsure whether to migrate the information back to the work mac and clean up the macbook and start again. Can someone advise me - but in layman's terms as I do not understand technical words!

Jul 2, 2009I recently bought the new base model 13-inch MacBook Pro, which was running perfectly until yesterday. Yesterday, the machine ran out of battery power and went into safe sleep. When I plugged in the power cord and woke it up, the bluetooth symbol in the menu bar had a jagged line through it. On restart, the bluetooth symbol had simply disappeared, and system profiler is showing bluetooth as "No information found.". I have had this problem before with a 2006 macbook, but it was solved by a restart. On searching the web I have found a number of suggested solutions, each of which I have tried: resetting PRAM, resetting SMC, deleting various bluetooth preferences, reinstalling OS X. None of these suggested solutions have worked.

Jun 4, 2012I went to genius bar yesterday because some problems with the privies hard disk drive. They gave me the toshiba as a replacement. I wasn't required to sign any paper after that. Before when I got a replacement iphone or macbook charger, they both asked me to sign a paper. I don't know why this time is different. Also I heard that Toshiba hard drive is worse than Samsung's.By the way, I didn't erase my documents in previous hard drive, will anyone be able use or read them? Well, I saved many account passwords in that hard drive.

Jun 28, 2012My macbook is a late 2006 model (2 ghz intel 2 duo, 2 gb ram) It is running osx 10.7.4 It dosent matter which browser I use at all. I've tried Safari, Firefox & Chrome and they all do the same thing. If I am logging into my email, facebook, bank, etc. When I enter my username then hit tab my mac will freeze for a good 30-45 seconds then it will be allow me to enter my password. then it will freeze up again.
