Mar 8, 2012I have a question about photostream. Is it true that ALL photos in my photo stream are permanently saved in iPhoto (even without me moving into events which i would probably do twice a month)? If the event i can't move photo's from the photostream in iphoto to events, are they ALWAYS saved on my mac drive even there there is a 1000/30 day limit in photostream?

Apr 10, 2012I imported a photo into iPhoto. If I click on it, click actions and share to Photostream, I get a message saying it is already in Photostream. Yet, it does not show up in the iPhoto Photostream folder on my Mac. Nor does it show up in my iPhone Photostream folder. I believe I have iCloud set up properly on both devices and have configured iPhoto correctly. Is there something I can do to force a sync?

It was originally version 10.5.6 but I wanted a clean MacBook (as if i just bought a completely new macbook) so i erased and installed with a CD that apple sent me. Apr 12, 2012Ever since I downloaded iplayer - my mac has been running slow. I have followed a few tips to remove it and all other related files - but it still runs low (spinning wheel of death) and now pdf's dont download correctly (I guess I have deleted too much).Â
My ideal would be to start from scrach - although I want to keep my itunes and iphotos files as well as my documents. Is there a way to reload back to factory settings then add selected programs and folders from timemachine? I am in the process of timemachine backing up everything now.Â

Feb 15, 2012Our company recently switched to MacBook Pro computers. When I got mine I took it on vacation and uploaded pictures on it, and have the pictures on iCloud through PhotoStream. My company then installed software that encrypts the Mac, and also has a policy where I can't install iPhoto.
I can still see the pictures through my iPad on PhotoStream which is good. Is there any way possible to download my pictures from PhotoStream to another computer?I've tried to do it using my wife's MacBook Pro (and setting it with my iCloud settings), and on a PC laptop, but it seems like if it's in iCloud, and the computer you're on didn't upload it, you can't download it or even see it.

Apr 12, 2012I'm suspecting the answer is NO. I have pictures that are shared via Photostream, appearing on both my iPhone and my iPad. My wife has her own iPhone & ID. and it would be really nice if our photos could all be part of one big happy family, with my photos appearing on her iPhone and vice-versa. Â
As I said...even though I never used MobileMe, looks like something I really wish could happen.

May 17, 2012I dont see photostream on iCloud on my iMac, though it works wonderfully on my other devices iPhone and iPad. I also can't see any related setting in iCloud, except to reset photo stream, which deletes all photos currently on it.

Nov 24, 2009When I open iPhoto on my new iMac it tells me that there is an update available and that I should goto Software Update to get it. I go there and it says that my software is up to date. I go back to iPhoto and it still tells me there is an update for 8.1.1 but it also gave me a manual install link. I manually downloaded it and it won't install because it needs iPhoto 8.1 from iLife 09'. I even tried rebooting and repairing hard drive permissions. I am using iPhoto from iLife 09 that came on my brand new Mac.

Sep 3, 2009I lost my photo, all of them. It is definitely my fault. Here's what happened. I did a clean install of SL and transferred all my stuff over from an external drive(TC). I then dropped all my photos into iPhoto. They were all there. I then deleted my originals from the desktop. I assumed that a new folder was created with the photos in it in my pictures folder.
I also erased my TC to make room so I could start doing backups again. Well, just now I realized that iPhoto is empty because I accidentally deleted the photos. I've lost years of pictures. Can I pull off the photos from my iPod or iPhone? There is a problem, neither of those devices have been connected to the computer since the SL install. How I can get those pictures back to my computer.
