MacBook :: Unable To Play DVD And Watch On TV With Airplay
Jun 4, 2014
I wanted to watch a DVD on the TV rather than the Macbook. I have an external DVD drive and insert the disc - it plays OK on the Macbook. I have tried then play it on the TV via the Apple TV using airplay but the screen just goes grey. I have used airplay to play a film.
I have a MacBook Pro from 2010 and I can't even watch a youtube video, it stops and stops. Video has become impossible so annoying that I have to avoid it. Not the experience I expected when buying a mac. I spent a lot of money on this for a machine to be unable to play any video.
I have this problem a wile now. When I play music (or watch a movie) I can hear there is something wrong with my sound output. It's hard to describe, but is is like someone is playing with an equalizer. The high pitch sounds (voices) are constantly changing in volume. maybe the basses to, but its hard to hear that. BUT, the strange thing is, when I play something in windows (parallels) it is much better... The bass is here more dimmed for some reason.
Can I play a dvd on my iMac to watch on my wifi tv? Can built in Airport send dvd to tv? I actually have an external router connected now, and can stream Netflix on my tv, but not everything is offered streaming. Also, we own some dvds that we'd like to watch. My dvd player is broken and I don't want to buy a new one if I don't have to. I also have an old (1st gen) mac mini that's just sitting in a closet- could that be used as a dvd player?

My Mac seems to be running slow ie. colorful circle spinning also I can not watch youtube videos. I tried watching a movie I downloaded last night from itunes and it wouldn't play either.
I'm able to watch videos on youtube and other webpages, just not anything on facebook. Not even ones that i have submitted myself. I've already wiped out my whole harddrive and reinstalled it, repaired any disk utilities, disk permissions, made sure i've got the newest version of adobe, and made sure that all of my software is updated. I just don't know what else it could be. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. Also, whenever i click on the video to play, it just appears as a small black box.Ps: I'm using Safari and would like to continue to use it.
For some time now I have been unable to view videos on netflix. I'm able to log in and select a video, however, the below screen shot displays the screen that I see instead of the video playing. I have been unsuccessful at trying to figure out a way to resolve this issue on my own.
I'm using a macbook pro with Lion. I used youtube to listen to songs and watch videos till about a week ago. But now The site opens, but when I click on a video to play, they say that 'An error has occurred'. How can I make it work again?
Youtube videos won't play properly on my imac (I have OS X version 10.5.8). The video plays only for a few short seconds and stops for about 90 seconds and then repeats the process .
I have a new MacBook and I downloaded Veoh TV. When I downloaded Veoh TV it said I needed to download Perian to play certain videos. And I downloaded Perian Version 1.2
The problem is I don't think it's working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. And whenever I try to watch videos on my Veoh TV it says I need to install Perian.
I just bought my mac and was previously using a PC so I am still new to the Mac and am unsure if I installed it wrong or something.
I was trying to watch a show on Slice.ca and it kept telling me that my JavaScript wasn't enabled and I was unable to watch the video. a few days before I was able to use the site perfectly, but after downloading the new Java update it wont work. When I go into my preferences on safari, it says that java-scrip is in fact enabled, so I'm not sure why the website isn't recognizing that it is enabled.
I am not able to watch any videos that I receive from my friends via gmail.com.I have a macbook pro computer. What do I need to do to be able to watch my videos when I get emails?
I have a Mac OS X version 10.4 and I can't seem to play DVD's on it. I had played DVD's in the past, but I just went to put one in and it does not read it. I usually play them with VLC but when I open it, it does nothing.
I purchased the $5.95 version of Flip4Mac in order to be able to play .WMV files on my MacbookPro (Mavericks). However, every time I open any .WMV file, I get this error message: THE APPLICATION ATTEMPTED TO USE AN UNSUPPORTED FEATURE (Flip Player). I also attempted to play the files on Quicktime, but I get this error message: QuickTime Player can't open "XXXXX.wmv". I tried VLC also, but unfortunately did not work. Â

I am watching a TV show that is running on my computer but projected onto my TV through Apple TV. The image on my computer is fine but it is jerky on the TV, often freezing and the sound goes in and out. How do I get a smooth image and sound on my TV?
I purchased a Bose wifi speaker. When I leave work and come back I cannot select my speaker using AirPlay. I see my speaker name available for AirPlay output, however, every time I select the speaker it automatically goes back to my built-in speakers. I have to restart my system in order to select the external speaker for AirPlay.
