When I search all I find is how you will be able to stream through iOS 4.2 and there is not much on OS X.

MacBook :: (2008) Won't Boot / Work - Stuck On Gray Apple Logo Screen
Jul 25, 2010For several weeks, my black MacBook (2008) has been acting odd. Certain applications won't open, and when I attempt to open them, the computer makes a quiet clicking noise, like the drive is failing. Last week, when trying to boot it, the thing just wouldn't. Stuck on the grey Apple logo screen. Assuming a hard drive problem or failure, I ran the tests. I ran Disk Utility from the Snow Leopard install disk, checked & repaired permissions, checked & repaired disk. All okay. I ran the Apple Hardware Test from the install disk that came with the computer, using the test that runs for an hour or so, and all appears to be fine. The computer won't boot into safe mode. I've tried flashing the PRAM. I doubt I could achieve much through target disk mode, as I've already run Disk Utility. What's left to do? Something doesn't add up here.

Jun 26, 2014I purchased a Bose wifi speaker. When I leave work and come back I cannot select my speaker using AirPlay. I see my speaker name available for AirPlay output, however, every time I select the speaker it automatically goes back to my built-in speakers. I have to restart my system in order to select the external speaker for AirPlay.

Applications :: Office 2008 Entourage Hangs - Apple Or MS?
Aug 1, 2010Seems recently every time I open Entourage it hangs as soon as I enter my mail account password. It then must be forced quit.
I have tried everything I could find online as suggestions to fix the ssues including deleting fonts, deleting font caches, rebuilding database, and identities etc. I also cannot empty the exchange cache as you must be logged in for the command to show up. I don't know if this is an Apple OS or Microsoft Office issue or how to figure that out?
Way to go with this as my whole office is run from Entourage and it is on hold until I can get this fixed. I have a MBP 2.4 with 4 Gig. Running 10.6.4.
MacBook Pro :: Airplay Is Not Working - No Sound Coming Out Of The Receiver?
Apr 18, 2012I have a macbook pro and iphone4, so I bought a Denon Ceol RCD N-7 that supports airplay. The system requires, that I upgrade the software on the receiver, which I have done. And I can confirm on the receiver, that I have installed the airplay on the unit. When I go to iTunes on the macbook pro, then I get the option to use the Denon Ceol as speakers for iTunes, so the airplay should work. However neither the macbook or the iphone can connect to the unit, meaning there is not any sound coming out of the receiver or any indication on the receiver, that it is connecting to the airplay.I have also checked for the receiver to be able to connect to the same wireless network as the iphone and macbook - which it does. And the internet radio is working on the receiver, so the internet connection is fine.iTunes is 10.5.1, so that is also fine. How can I indentify the problem or do any of you know how to fix the problem?

Sep 2, 2014On my laptop, the Airplay refuses to ave sound. First it was just with some web content, now it's all sound.
Menu Bar -> Airplay -> Mirroring On
Result: Flawless video, no sound.
System Preferences -> Sound -> Output -> Apple TV
Result: Selection pops to the last item, Airplay stops displaying on TV. (Airplay on the mac thinks it's still working, but the Apple TV stops displaying.)
Rebooting doesn't work, pretty much nothing seems to have an effect.

Firewall disabled
AirParrot installed but not active (has same issue, though)
Apple TV (all updates)
iOS devices work fine with the Apple TV
Video works fine. Just audio fails.

Aug 30, 2010I like to write a personal newsletter, then paste it into emails and send. It's easier for me to work on it in Word first. I can't figure out a format that I can use in Word so that when I copy and paste it in Apple Mail email, it keeps the same format. So far, it changes format when I paste it. what was in bold, is no longer (or the whole thing is in bold), line spacing changes, bullet points change. I tried saving it as pdf file first and the font became microscopic when I pasted it into the email...

ITunes :: Airplay Does Not See My Airport Express
Mar 26, 2012I recently switched routers. I've been able to configure the router to join my wireless network. I know it has joined because the light changes from green to amber when the router reboots. When I was configuring, I checked the Enable Airplay checkbox and gave the Airport Express a name and password. I start up iTunes and there is no Airplay icon in the lower right like there used to be with the old router. What am I missing about enabling Airplay? Is there an Airplay app I'm missing that would allow me to find the Airport Express with Airplay?

Jun 2, 2012I have been using Airplay and an Airport Express to stream iTunes to my Harman Kardon speakers for the last 3 years. This morning I find that the volume sliders are missing for my Hi-fi AE in the 'select multiple speakers' window and I cannot select them.
The AE has a green light and shows up fine in Airport Utility. Repairing permissions and restarting has not helped. It was working fine last night when I shut my iMac down, and nothing has changed!

Jul 1, 2014I bought a Mac Pro 13' Retina Display two weeks ago and today i bought a Bose SoundTouch 20 and i connected both to my home network by ethernet cord. when i try to use applications like iTunes to send the sound of a song from mac to bose it work perfect, but when i try to do the same with spottily (i downloaded the app for my mac) simply doesn't work and don't know why. Another issue is that either can't send the sound of the movies and videos from mac to bose (i already try this using this configuration: send by airplay the movie to apple tv and from apple tv send the sound to bose, all work perfect because all was connected with ethernet cord).
So the question is, why the Airplay function only work with iTunes and with other applications simply doesn't?

Went to the local Apple Store yesterday for a One-to-One appointment. I asked one of the associates if any of the dozen speakers they have on display were AirPlay compatible. He looked at me like I was crazy. After refreshing his memory on the topic briefly, he said that no, it was too new and suggested I add an Airport Express to my system to achieve my desired results (to stream music to speakers in my house). Question: Will AirPlay negate the need for an Airport Express? I'm expecting that very soon AirPlay compatible speaker(s) will come to market which will handle wirelessly all the necessary work to stream music from my iDevices to the speakers. Am I understanding AirPlay and its potential correctly?

May 26, 2012I have an airport express that is configured properly but for some reason iTunes cannot find it after it wakes up in the morning. To fix it I have to restart the computer. My computer is connected to a time capsule via an ethernet cable and the airport express extends the same network wirelessly. My computer goes to sleep everynight at 1 am and wake up at 7am. I like my coffee and bbc every morning and am tired of having to go downstairs to the restart my computer to get the airplay working again. This started happening about four or five months ago.

Jun 20, 2014I have a few accounts on my Mac (Mavericks) that I use to train, operating my Mac with Airplay mirroring for demonstration. While in my primary account, Airplay (AppleTV3) works fine. Until recently it also worked fine while in my other accounts (all Admins).
About a month ago, Airplay with the secondary accounts no longer shows the mouse cursor. I can see the effects of the mouse (Dock magnifies, apps still open, etc.), but I can't see the actual cursor moving around the screen. My primary account continues to show the cursor during Airplay.
I created a new user account (Admin), and the new user account also is missing the cursor during Airplay. Updated all software, restored the AppleTV.

I have been trying to mirror my mac to my apple tv but the the airplay icon will not display on the menu bar. I have tried turning airplay on and off on the apple tv without success. Under the display settings in system preferences it says No Devices Detected.I have already tried all the suggestions in the support pages to no avail.
