May 4, 2005I've begun to notice a ring, roughly three inches in diameter, in the middle of my Air, Rev C, Screen. It is a white ring, a couple of millimeters thick,that I can see best behind an all white screen, i.e. a blank page of a word processing document.
Anyone seen anything like this before. I can actually see part of it right on the white of the page I am typing in this thread.
IMac :: White Screen At Restart / White Screen With 3 Loud Beeps
Jun 1, 2009So my 20" 2.4 Imac crashed on me twice tonight. A box popped up telling me to hold down the restart button for several seconds to restat. The second time I did this it just sits with a white screen and give three loud beeps over and over. Is there a fix for this? Is it my ram? I'm at a loss.

Mar 22, 2010there are two things that the macbook is doing to me. one is that sometimes when i move the screen up or down (the hinge is rather stiff) a white (thin) line flashes across the screen. but recently, while randomly browsing through the internet, the screen almost... i guess faded to a gray screen, but like gradually, and not like a kernel error, like the display just faded away. happened twice in a row, did a battery pull and now wont do it again.

Apr 25, 2012This started happening around the beginning of this year. I contacted Apple Support and they worked with me on-line and over the phone. It happened again the next day. After it happened about 20 more times, I took it into the Apple Store and they decided to reinstall the OS. Since then, it has happened about 10 more times.
This has happened with and without attached devices or flash drives. It has happened on different wi-fi networks. It generally happens when I am navigating with the track pad or with a mouse. I don't recall ever leaving the room and returning to find the gray screen. In other words, it happens shortly after I have moved the cursor. I've noticed the pinwheel usually appears before the gray screen.

Jun 10, 2012it's an 15 inch macbook pro. since I bought this computer was working fine about last year. Somehow, start of this year, the problem begins. Everytime when i opened microsoft word 2011 on mac or Photoshop cs5, and quit the software as normaly. When i try to shut down the blue screen with spinning wheel apears. this spining wheel is endless. But funny thing is that after use other software such as games, web browser (safari) etc. and quit them. when i shut down there was not a problem. only word 2011 for mac and adobe photoshop cs5.

MacBook :: Firefox Shut Down While Watching Video - Screen Went Black
May 18, 2010I have a last gen. white macbook. I was watching a youtube video today and firefox shut down. When it restarted it shutdown again. I decided to restart my computer. When it was restarting, a message popped up saying I needed to restart by holding down the power button. After pushing the power button the screen went black. I then pushed the power button again and my computer made this horrible beeping noise until I pressed the power button again. In doing this process more than once the mac start up "chord Bing" happened over and over until I pressed the power button. I got the comp turned off and let it sit for an hour or so. It started up fine. I downloaded google chrome and when trying to change some settings the "restart your comp by holding down the power button" message came up. When restarting the crazy beep came back. Now everything seems fine but while typing the comp made the noise like it wants to eject a cd.

Jun 30, 2012I have a Macbook Pro late 2010 model and it suddely gets a white screen and the only way to fix it is to restart it. After about an hour of working the white screen comes back. I re-installed snow lepord (not clean install) and that seemed to fix it for about a day but i just got another white screen , any suggestions into fixing this or finding out the cause would be great as the closest apple store is about an hour away and no that accessible. I dont have to be touching the computer for it to do it which makes me think its not the logic board.

Dec 2, 2014I accidentally connected my wife's MacBook Air to my docking station at work today. Nothing seemed to happen so I undocked it and the computer displayed a black screen and I could see and move the cursor using the trackpad. I then tried shutting down by holding the power button for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 1 min, etc. Nothing worked and it's stuck on the black screen so I can't use Yosemite's menu to shut down or restart. When I leave the computer idle for around a minute, the cursor disappears but it will reappear after pressing keys on the keyboard.

This spot only shows up as a light spot when the screen has a light background. On a darker screen it totally disappears. The spot is a few mm in size and. I've examined the top of the LCD case and it's smooth. The Macbook has not been dropped in anyway.

Sep 22, 2009I bought a MacBook Pro Unibody a month ago. I had the stock 250GB HDD inside of it. I replaced it with a 320GB WD HDD. The screen was white after powering on, and wouldn't get past that stage. I put it inside an external enclosure and strangely it booted up and allowed me to install Snow Leopard. I took it to the shop and they said the hard drive was faulty ?!? so I'm looking at it now and it's working cause i'm writing this post now.
The question I have is in regards to returning to the store tomorrow. Should I leave the inside of the Mac hard drive less and carry the hard drive with me in the enclosure tomorrow? Or should I leave the hard drive inside the computer and then have them open it up and diagnose the drive? I am looking for the quickest way possible. I wasn't sure how apple would look if I brought the computer in without the drive... I just want to show them how crap of a job they did and show them the drive works fine.

What has happened I think is that it was run flat. I have though charged the batteries up to two green lights on the battery.
It's making hard drive noises but sits on the white screen.
