Apr 1, 2012I have a new iMac and iPhone 4.0. All software is up to date and I have installed the free beta version of Mountain Lion which let me use iChat on my computer. Safari intermittently stops working. Mail won't access my mailboxes if Safari is running. Now iTunes won't find my iPhone when it's locked and in a dock charging. If I restart I can do 1 thing at a time, but I can't have Safari running and use Mail. I've emptied my cache, checked my passwords. It's none of that. By process of elimination, there is some kind of conflict between using multiple applications on the Internet at the same time. Sometimes after I've gone to several Internet sites Safari will stop working properly even though all other applications have been "quit".

Sep 4, 2014I updated my MacBook to OS X 10.9.4, which is Maverick, and now when I try to plug my iPhone in nothing will appear, all it will do is charge the phone. My phone is updated to iOS 7.1.2 and I cant find a new update. I need to get pictures off my phone not only because my phone is telling me my storage is full but I use my camera for many things and need to be able to put many pictures on my computer at once without having to find another way to do it.

May 29, 2012I am syncing all of my music library to my iPhone via iTunes on a MacBook Pro. There are only a very few albums not showing up. These have NOT been bought off iTunes - they are older than iTunes I put them on the computer from CDs.But for the same artist - about half of the music shows up - it seems to be whole CDs that don't. I tried highlighting the songs and making sure they actually had an artist - they do. They have albums listed, too. I have no idea what is going on. This is also on my husbands phone - but for a different artist (different computer, too and he has an iPhone 4s, I have an i4)Â

ITunes :: Cannot Find Iphone Firmware
Jun 1, 2012I have a iPhone 4 (running 4.2.1) that I used sparingly so I never synced/updated the firmware. I finally decided to update the firmware, but am running into the following problem. On the summary tab for the phone in iTunes, I see "A newer version of the iPhone software is available (version 4.3.5). To update ..."
when I click the "Update" button, it just open the file browser (I'm assuming to find the firmware file.) I looked in the ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/ and the directory does not exist. Searched the entire filesystem for other download locations (search for iPhone, .ipsw etc.), didn't have luck.
A couple of things that I find strange:
1. Not sure why the available version is 4.3.5 and not 5+ (maybe there's no direct upgrade path from 4.2.1 -> 5+)
2. I never looked for the updates manually, perhaps iTunes detected it on startup.
In any case, it seems like iTunes *thinks* it already downloaded the lastest version, but can't seem to find the downloaded file and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to force iTunes to try redownloading. I don't think it's a version issue. OSX: 10.6.8. iTunes: 10.6.1. I've tried rebooting, altering the order of starting itunes and plugging in the phone etc. without any luck. Am I just out of luck or am I missing something obvious?

Apr 12, 2012Ever since I downloaded iplayer - my mac has been running slow. I have followed a few tips to remove it and all other related files - but it still runs low (spinning wheel of death) and now pdf's dont download correctly (I guess I have deleted too much).Â
My ideal would be to start from scrach - although I want to keep my itunes and iphotos files as well as my documents. Is there a way to reload back to factory settings then add selected programs and folders from timemachine? I am in the process of timemachine backing up everything now.Â

However after the installation of the files , the mac used md5 checksum to validate the files and files were found not to pass. I then cancelled the validation. However I could not find the SDK programs that were installed in the mac. How do I delete the 5gb of stuff that was installed as I can'tfind them anywhere? I then proceed to attempt one of the comments instructions on that page:
1. Make the iPhone SDK.dmg read/write-able with Disk Utility using convert -> to read/write.
2. Mount the R/W dmg.
3. You need to delete some unneccessary file so that you can modify the installer config file, because the image is completely full. I choose the PDF in the root of the dmg.
4. Modify /Volumes/iPhone SDK/iPhone SDK.mpkg/Contents/iPhoneSDK.dist :
- Line 71 ( in function agreedToSLA() ) - modify "return false;" to "return true;"
- Line 81 ( in function SDKPresent() ) - modify "return false;" to "return true;"
but I was unable to attempt part 4 as I couldn't find iPhoneSDK.dist to modify.
