View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to transfer my fotos and videos from Aperture on my old mac, to a new mac. I have tried to create a vault on an external drive, and then open it from Aperture on my new mac, but nothing happens when I open the vault - a new library is available, but no fotos/videos.
Then I have tried to export some on my projects as a new library, and this works. I can open the fotos, but a lot of fotos/videos now have a small yellow triangle in the right corner. The videos that have this triangle will not play in Aperture, whereas the videos without this triangle are ok.
I purchased an audiobook on my office computer, but I use my home computer to sync with my iPhone. Now I can't download the book to my home computer without having to pay again AND I can't sync with the office computer without erasing all of the info and apps from my home computer. ITunes considers my home computer as the master library. I didn't know all of this and, quite frankly, don't understand why it has to be this way.

I regularly download my photos and videos from my iPhone to Aperture for storage. In my latest download approximately 100 videos and photos did not download successfully - I get a message "unsupported image format". They were deleted from my phone as the message stated they had downloaded successfully (which they hadn't). I can retrieve the photos via my Photo Stream but how can I retrieve the lost videos?Â

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 2011 Macbook Pro and an older (5 year old) Western Digital external hard drive. I have always used this hard drive for both mac and windows. Recently, however, whenever I go to transfer a file from the mac to the WD hard drive, the little transfer window pops up and it appears to initiate the transfer. However, it never fully starts it. It appears to "get stuck" in that initiating stage, showing zero of 3.16 gb transferred and shows an unknown transfer time. This happens no matter how long I leave it open. Again, I have used this external hard drive with my macs for the past 5 years without any problems until now. I haven't moved or modified the WD hard drive

I just purchased a 128 gig Solid State Drive at frys the other day $299. I read a bunch of reviews on SSDs but never pulled the trigger because of the cost.
If anyone is on the fence go out and buy one today, the speed difference is huge. My 17 MBP is wicked fast now! Bootup times are 1-3x faster. Applications load in a flash, no more spinning beach ball. I hit pages and shazam, it's open and ready.
Anyhow, installation was a breeze, cloned drive, had to remove a bunch of stuff because i downgraded from a 500 internal to a ssd. Im not looking at replacing my SuperDrive with a regular HD to reclaim the space, ill keep music, videos and such on that.
So, it's a good buy. Just wonder what upgrading to 8 gigs of ram will do for me now. I'll let you all know next month.
