Aperture :: How To Transfer Meta Data From One Photo To Another
Dec 1, 2014
Is it possible to transfer meta data from one photo to another, because I edited three photos over in Photoshop to make one wide photo but can the meta data be transfered from one of hte three to the single one so it goes to the right spot on the map using GPS data?
Info:
2.93GHz Intel Core i7, Mac OS X (10.6.7), Memory 8GB also Mac OS X now (10.7)
So here's my conundrum: I use the play/skip count as variables in several smart playlists, and I've been closely monitoring it for around 4 years. I just got the new Beatles remixed albums, and I want to insert them into my iTunes but keep the meta data of the old versions of the song
I have recently installed Aperture onto my MacBook. When I started it up, I said 'yes' create an aperture library from my existing iPhoto library. I then watched in some dismay as Aperture then proceed to 'clobber' my hard drive.
I have a JPEG photo that's 5184 x 3456 (17.9 MP) It's too big for Twitter which has a file size limit of 5MB.
How do I resize the photo for Twitter? There are no Twitter-specific instructions in the Help Center. I have tried to follow the instructions for Image Export. I end up with identical photos.
I was going through my projects in Aperture and noticed that 1300 photos from a wedding I shot are missing. Well I found them in the trash along with several other photos I deleted on purpose. However there was a distinct difference between the files I was missing and the files I purposely deleted. There was a symbol in the bottom right hand corner. After some research, I found that the symbol meant that the original or source files was missing. But the picture looks like it's there. This also means that I can't edit these pictures of export them. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?! I didn't delete these files. I imported everything together and need to figure out how to get them back. Are they tucked away some where? I know when I imported the photos I included all the originals and data associated with them.
I have iphoto 9.5.1 and am trying to email a photo from it. My Mac is an OS X 10.9.4 There are no updates available..I receive the message "emai did not got through because server did not reply."
And it tells me to check my internet connection. I believe that is working fine because I can get on the internet..I have verizon. I'm assuming my server is working because I can send and receive email

I'm trying to clean up my projects and organize them better, but I'm stuck because I have mistakenly gathered unrelated photos into too many projects. I just want to move a photo from one project to another, but I'm not getting how to do it. I've been able to merge projects which has worked a lot, but some photos just don't belong in the projects they are in. Is there some simple thing I'm missing?

So I can do this with iPhoto but I don't use iPhoto. I only use Aperture 3. I just want to select a photo from my photos, and make it my wallpaper. Is this an option anywhere?
I've noticed that my Photo Stream is not updated after I've made significant edits to my photos in Aperture. If this is not working as intended, is there something I must do to have my Photo Stream updated after I've edited it? If it is just not an implemented feature, would this be something you could implement in the future. I'd rather have my edited pictures show up on my iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV when I'm showing pictures to my friends, than the raw photos that I simply uploaded into Aperture.
Anytime I try to use Aperture to Import my photos from the Iphone to a folder in my Mac, Aperture will import some photos to the folder I Chose, but other go only to the iCloud Photo Stream...
I have just tried to import only I few photos from the camera Roll, and it imported as it should, but when I chose to delete the photos from the camera roll it deleted all the photos...
I am using Aperture. Photos taken with my Ipad are downloaded through iCloud to my MBP. They used to be transferred automatically to a Photo Stream project and associated to a month. This stopped working. Everything is checked ok in the Aperture preferences...
I'm new to Aperture, I've always used Iphoto. I've recently imported a large library of photo's from Iphoto into Aperture. I selected to store the photo's in their current location. Is there any way that Aperture can automatically update the library once I add it to Iphoto or my computer? I'm always adding photo's to my computer. As it is now I have to manually import the selected photo's into an event and then drag it from the event to my library. Is there an easier way then this? is there some option that I'm missing?
Downloaded the new Aperture that allows you to delete pictures from Photo Stream. I deleted photos but those photos remain on my iphone. What did I do wrong?
I'd like to automatically save each photo filename as a keyword for that photo, so if the file name is changed later through different versions it retains the original filename within its EXIF information to identify it, preferably while importing it.
I there some form of dynamic keyword that lets you have Aperture replace it with the current file name?
In Aperture, on the Info tab, in the drop down menu near the bottom, you can view comments from shared photo streams. I would like to print these comments. This comment field does not appear in the Exif or IPTC menus. Where is this field? Is it metadata? How can I print it?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Aperture library 62,000+ photos. Main photos stored in directories (not in Aperture library)
Question to resolve: When I am using Aperture at time when in "Split view" or "Viewer" mode my photo selected will be of a previous photo l have looked at or just static screen( fuzzy bunch of lines).
I can correct this by restarting Aperture but the fix does not last long. The am not sure what changes the duration of the messed up viewer (cycling photos, sleep the laptop, ect.) But at times the fix might last a day or two other times only minutes. If left alone it has never fixed it self with out a restart of Aperture. I have repaired permissions and completed a library rebuild.
This condition only started with the update to Yosemite

Please help me out with this i have no idea how to do this and the Apple Store said they will do it for $100 and i just poured every penny i own into this computer and cannot sell me old computer to pay bills until i transfer this data.
I just installed Aperture 3.6 in Yosemite on my new Mac - after the installation I agreed to use one library for iPhoto and Aperture - next the installation appears to have imported over 3000 program / Resource images and stored them in my Iphoto librarys and projects and in Aperture? The images look like thumbnails to low resolution clip art and some date back to 2006.
I want to transfer my fotos and videos from Aperture on my old mac, to a new mac. I have tried to create a vault on an external drive, and then open it from Aperture on my new mac, but nothing happens when I open the vault - a new library is available, but no fotos/videos.
Then I have tried to export some on my projects as a new library, and this works. I can open the fotos, but a lot of fotos/videos now have a small yellow triangle in the right corner. The videos that have this triangle will not play in Aperture, whereas the videos without this triangle are ok.
Just tried to transfer pictures from my new Nikon 810 to my Aperture program. Everything up to date. New computer mac book pro retina. But Aperture rejected the transfer, " unsupported image format".So I do I get the pictures into Aperture?

I have an aperture library with approx 5000 images, 116 gb on my MacBook pro and I want to move them all to my new iMac 5k. All applications are up to date. I'm using Yosemite and Aperture 3.6. I have a full time machine backup ( up to date). Which is best migration assistant, time machine back up or something else?
Info: iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), 3.5 i5 8 GB 1tb fusion drive
Suggested to move the original files to the EHD and leave the referenced files on the laptop to save space and still allow edits. My question is, if you are using Time Machine, what is it backing up on the LT and how do you apply this to the data on the EHD?
What I am trying to achieve is to move my Aperture library to an external HD. and clone it to a second drive and backup the laptop with Time Machine. After the next session I would again clone the 1st drive and rely on TM to continue to backup the LT.
I regularly download my photos and videos from my iPhone to Aperture for storage. In my latest download approximately 100 videos and photos did not download successfully - I get a message "unsupported image format". They were deleted from my phone as the message stated they had downloaded successfully (which they hadn't). I can retrieve the photos via my Photo Stream but how can I retrieve the lost videos?
My Imac is dead and I lost the entire storage Now im trying to find the way to transfer all photos I have on my iPad and Iphone to the new iMac I have....
The problem is that I tune only sync pictures taking by ipad/iPhone and not the entire library
I found some software but they have problem with file names not reading correctly all files from iPad as I have the same file name on different folders.
