How can I recover my wifi password? My mac is still connected, but the vodafone store deleted my settings on my ipad!! I've tried keychain access and network preferences, but it doesn't show the password, just asks for the password. Is there another way?

I created a firmware password long back..I tried to install windows few days back...windows was succesfully installed but my Mac OSX Snow Leapord got crashed..I cant boot my OSX Snow Leapord dvd because i forgot my firmware password..I gave my Notebook to an authorised service centre named ample Technologies...They told me that they cant reset the password...Right now im using windows...Using boot camp control pannel also i cant change my start up...how to go back to mac....I dont want to use windows in my macbook pro..Its Mid 2012 series.Please give me a solution.

been trying to log onto airport with my pismo at work. log in attempt pops up a window claiming that my password is wrong...but system admin says and demonstrates it isn't with other laptops...plus, I can log into non-password protected wifi in the building no problem...what's going on? Let me preemptively state that I know very little about computers. This problem is most likely easy to fix, but I wouldn't know where to start. We have wireless internet here in my house, and my MacBook will not connect to it. It's a Netgear router, and my Mac tells me I need a password to connect to it. We don't have a password set on our router. So, every time it tries to connect, it says that an error occurred. How do I get rid of this password thing? I just want to use the WiFi!

This morning I performed a 'Software Update' on my Macbook Pro and 6 new items were updated. The Mac then asked me to restart so I did but when it came back on I logged in as normal but it won't connect to my wifi unless I type in the password. I've tried Utilities > keychain manager but all I get is 'Access to this item is restricted' (when I click on show password and login again). My ipad and iphone are still okay and can access the wifi fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 year old macbook that just refuses to connect to my wifi, I also have 4 other apple devices that connect seamlessly. it registers the network, it joins the net work and then fails, I have had several different error messages as follows while re entering my password I get a dropdown box saying I have changed settings, this then sends me back to the preferences to start again. and then i get error message that my password is incorrect (I can confirm it is correct) I have also been to the genius bar, and we managed a connection for the duration of the visit ( a healthy reading too apparantly)they carried out a hardwear diagnoistics check and it was given a full bill of health. I was advised to insert the reinstallation disk and carry out a reinstall - I have done this and the problem is still there. My login.keychain password is not recognized anymore, i am very sure about the actual pwd string and I tried to restart apps and machine already, I believe the file got corrupted somehow, hence various applications such as FTP clients cannot autoconnect to external resources
I am bound to recover from a Timemachine backup, but all discussions are just dealing with recovering items in the keychain file once it is restored, what about the keychain master password? is it contained in the login.keychain file so that restoring that file to the HD will allow me to regain access to the saved items?

In 'network preferences' after I select the 'airport' network (Apple Network) I then select the 'Advanced' button. I open the 'Apple Network' and select 'WEP Password' in the Security field. I type in the password and hit 'Add', then 'Apply' then 'OK'.If I then turn the airport off then back on, or I turn the machine off and re-boot.
