MacBook Pro :: SD Card From Nikon Camera Read Only?
Jun 29, 2012I have a 32 GB SDHC Card (Class 10) in my Nikon Coolpix S9100. I formatted it in the camera, and now it's read-only on my Mac, and I can't format it so that it is writable. In fact, I have to reboot to my Bootcamp partition (Windows 7) to format it. It works with my Mac then, but as soon as the camera writes to it again, it becomes read-only.

Apr 21, 2012I have a macbook and I have been using it just fine with my nikon l120 camera up until now. I have a bunch of photos and videos from a trip that I need to upload, today. Now when I plug in my camera...it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer! It does however show that it is charging because it blinks when it is connected.

Aug 24, 2009I replaced my Cd-rom/DVD player a month ago after it was giving me trouble. I bought a Superdrive on ebay and installed it. I'm still having problems though, and I can barely use it. I have to tilt the laptop back to get it to read or eject a disc. Do you think it's the drive or is it some other problem since I am on my 2nd drive? I don't have the money to have apple fix it, it's only 1.5 years old.

Jun 4, 2014I updated my MacBook Pro but it froze half way through installing so I turned the MacBook off, when it came back on I had a problem with the software and had to install it properly again. Doing that caused me to loose all my files originally on the laptop, i had to set it up like a brand new.
All my photos were stored on my iPhoto but when I downloaded the app and opened it up none of my photos I had were there. Is there any way to get all my photos back at all? There's a lot of photos I've lost because of the update freezing on my MacBook.

I certainly hope that the news of Photo Journals for IOS devices will also soon allow us to store, edit and save our photos not only on IOS devices, but also on our laptops, MacAirs and desktops.
Most of us that have been using iPhoto for the past 5 (ish) years, prefer to edit and store them on our laptops and desktops.

OS X :: Cannot Export Footage Back To Camera
Jan 8, 2011I run a Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel OSX 10.5.8 and have been editing video with iMovie HD 5.0.2 for several years. I recently connected my Sony DVR-2100E camcorder to iMovie, imported and edited footage. When I tried to export the edited footage back to the camera iMovie refused to recognise either of my 2 camcorders and would not connect. Although I have iMovieHD installed I do not appear to have iLife. I also have iMovieHD 5.0.2 installed on my Powerbook. When I connect either of my 2 camcorders to the Powerbook they connect OK to iMovie but the moment I try to export any footage back to camera it immediately crashes and say's it has lost the connection. This happens every time. If I purchase the Snow Leopard upgrade for Leopard for $39 will it have iLife with a full version of iMovie included, or will I have to purchase a full installation version? I am hoping that a newer version of iMovie with iLife will solve my problems.
