How do I set up my mbp to open documents with Microsoft Word 2003 "always" under VMWare Fusion? I tried to set it up but it is not an option/can't figure out where Microsoft Word 2003 is when I right click and go "Open With." It says Microsoft Word 2003 - Boot camp partition but I want it so that it "Always Open with" Microsoft Word 2003.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to MacRumors. I just installed IWork on my new 13" MBP (has Snow Leopard) and have been unable to open Word 97 documents that I've been emailing myself from work and saving to a flash drive. I have not had such problems with my IMac using Pages.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFrom the response I received in the Pages forum, this appears to be a Lion-related question.Since I upgraded to Lion, I noticed that whenever I open a specific Pages document other recently-opened Pages documents will also open. Is there a way to prevent this? I was unable to find anything in Pages preferences.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCurrently using 10.5.6 on an emac 1.25, 768 sdram with 150Gb. I have been using PS 2 for ages to improve my photos from a Pentax camera without any problems. All of a sudden, when opening a pic downloaded from the camera, I am getting a message:-
EMBEDDED PROFILE MISMATCH
The document "..............jpg" has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded sRGB IEC61966-2.1
Working : Monitor RGB - Apple RGB
1) Use the embedded profile (instead of working space)
2) Convert documents colours to the working space
3) Discard the embedded profile (don't colour manage)
So far I have converted the pics one at a time without difficulty but it adds an extra process to it all. Why am I getting this message and how can I get rid of it?

Recently, every time I open Adobe Reader, or click on a PDF document on file to open it, Reader starts opening all PDF documents on file continuously until I get a message saying there are too many open documents to open any more. The only way out appears to be use of force quit.Have I picked up some kind of virus, or is there just a setting that I need to change?

About a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.
How do I put just select documents onto iCloud rather than all my documents?

I recently added a NAS with four main partitions (recognizes them as drives). Now, when ever I start up my mac, finder opens four panes, one for each drive. Is there any way I can prevent finder from automatically opening?

Evening folks,
Here's the situation....
I've been sent a word document that i need to fill in and return via email (to a pc user) using my hotmail, is this going to be possible.?
I tried writing a few basic documents in pages and neo office and sending them to my pc but they would not open. Have i missed something out?
The only alternative i see is using my Apple Mail Application and converting the file. The downside being that whilst my hotmail works perfectly as a stand alone, when syncing it with my Apple Mail I loose all of my sent items and folders.
I found xml files in my documents. Did these come with my Mac? What are they? In their info it says they were created Dec. 31, 1979, which is way before I got my Mac.
