MacBook Pro :: Can't Download Files Through Google Documents

Apr 14, 2012

I can't download files through google documents, anyone else having this problem?  The file is sent/shared with me through Google docs.

The response I get when I try to download is:

Sorry, we are unable to scan this file for viruses. This file exceeds the maximum size that we can scan. Download anyway. So eventhough I click download anyway it still will not download.

OS X :: All Files In Documents Folder Disappeared?

Nov 5, 2010

I'm not tech savy at all, so I need any advice people might have about this. A couple of hours ago all the files in my Documents folder disappeared. The folder is there, but only two documents are in it (the two I was working on today).

I can't find any of my files by searching in the finder window. I have no idea where to start on this. I haven't backed up any of my files because clearly I was operating under the misconception that losing all of my documents all at once could never happen to me.

When I try to read the text files (.doc, .rtf, etc.) I get an "access denied" msg.My Mac is Tiger 10.4.11, WORD is 2004, both fully up to date; everything pretty vanilla. My PC is a senior citizen with W98, and WORD 2000 and is not connected to the Internet.

IMac :: Documents / Files On Desktop Disappear And Reappear Constantly?

Jan 27, 2009

All the documents, files and icons displayed on my desktop keep disappearing and then reappearing whenever I do anything - though especially when I save or update something, create a new folder or rename a document/file. Sometimes they don't reappear at all and I am forced to restart the system.

I use a Mac Mini Power PC G4 (1.2) with OS X 10.4.11 and I have an external hard drive which I use to save most of my files and documents onto.

OS X :: Unknown Files And Documents In Finder / Username Daemon And Process Name Distnoted

Mar 26, 2010

I decided to post because I've been paranoid lately by possibilities that I may be hacked by someone or may have a virus on my Mac. I purchased my Mac in June of this year. I was messing around on "Finder" today and was looking at documents and stuff when I noticed some documents in the finder that were not familiar to me. I kept looking and I actually found A LOT of documents with numbers and things that were not familiar to me. Once I saw this, I went to the activity monitor.

I saw my username of course along with process names that looked familiar to me. I kept scrolling down and then I saw the username "daemon" and the process name was "distnoted". What is this? Am I just paranoid about this or is something going on? My computer speeds are fine and the computer itself is acting completely normal. I DO use uTorrent and Frostwire, though I don't download just anything.

MacBook :: Emailing Documents To A Pc?

May 19, 2009

Evening folks,

Here's the situation....

I've been sent a word document that i need to fill in and return via email (to a pc user) using my hotmail, is this going to be possible.?

I tried writing a few basic documents in pages and neo office and sending them to my pc but they would not open. Have i missed something out?

The only alternative i see is using my Apple Mail Application and converting the file. The downside being that whilst my hotmail works perfectly as a stand alone, when syncing it with my Apple Mail I loose all of my sent items and folders.

MacBook :: Pdf Maker For Longer Documents On Mac?

Sep 20, 2010

I have a Macbook running OS X 10.5.8

The print to pdf function is great, but I've noticed that for longer documents it divides the file into 3 separate sections/documents. This is annoying.

Is there anyway around this within the operating system, or is there other software like "cute pdf writer" for the mac . It seems that "cute" was only written for PCs since Macs tend to not need it.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Access Any Of My Word Documents

Mar 15, 2012

I just upgraded my laptop to Lion. Now I can't access any of my Word Documents. I 'got' around that by opening them up in 'pages'. HOWEVER, I can't access my emergency records organizer (where I keep all my bank account info, IDs and passwords, etc.) Is there a new application in Lion that allows me to to store this data? I'm not real happy with Lion right now, because half of my life/documennts were Word documents that can no longer be opened-unless I want to open EVERY last one of no fewer than 1,000 Word docs in 'pages.' Not only did I pay to upgrade to Lion, but I'll have to pay for another version of Word. Macintosh is on my___list right now.
