Today I updated my software to the newest version, the 10.7.4 version. Now when I am any application and not on the desktop my menu bar on the top of the screen that says File, Edit, View, Etc. keeps going away. I would like it to stay without me having to mouse over it like it used to do before I updated the software. Is there a place in the settings that can change it to stay or is this how it is going to be?

My mouse cursor is dissapearing from the screen nearly all the time, SUP apple, it just works, huh or nuh. Seems to have been a problem for a while

I seem to have the following problem. not sure exactly how it started as my wife was using the mac at the time (she says she just dragged the safari to different desktop via mission control) but now the situation is as follows:
When I hit safari icon it switches on (I can see the little light dot underneath the icon and after right click I can see names of windows that are opened) however I can only see the Safari menu at the top but no window. If I scroll to the right or left to different desktops it's not there, the same goes if I double tap to see the Mission Control mode it's not there...
I so far figured out that once the Safari menu is visible on top of the screen I can go to View>Enter Full Screen and then Safari will come back into the full screen mode but once I unclick the full screen button in right top corner the whole window just swoops into the right top corner and it's nowhere to be found again.

I am getting close to desperate after trying "everything" to make the navigation menu active on the first page of a site I'm developing for my brother's band. No matter what I do, the navigation on [URL] doesn't work and I'm flabbergasted as to why this is happening. Or not happening, so to speak. The other pages [URL] work like a charm, at least when it comes to links.

Not to mention that my sister's bookmark's are on her macbook air. So, it is not even like we are using the same computer! Is it because we both are using the same time machine and it is switching them? This has happen a few times. But usually i get hers and mine stay and i just delete hers. This time though, mine were deleted and replaced with hers. I can't figure out how to get mine back and i needed some of those links i saved! they were for school/ other important things!

I'm running Safari 5.1.3 on imac on 10.7.3. I just synced my ipad to computer. On my bookmarks bar on the ipad I had only 2 bookmarks. On the computer I had a whole bunch. Same with bookmarks menu. After the sync, on my computer, it had deleted all the bookmarks on my bookmarks bar, and only left me the 2 that were on the ipad. Same with bookmarks menu. Seems to have affected bookmarks bar and menu only. Rest of bookmarks are OK. I have an external backup drive and backed up a week ago. But, have never had to restore anything. What's the procedure to restore the bookmarks bar and menu in Safari, using time machine?

Earlier tonight I opened iCal, only to find that none of my calendars were there. it was completely empty. However, when I changed the view from "Week" to "Month" all of my events were listed (in the proper color) on the appropriate day, but I still had no list of calendars on the left. Subsequent changes between "Day" "Week" and "Month" view continued to display the events properly, but nothing showed up in the calendar menu on the left.
I repaired permissions same thing happened.I trashed com.apple.ical pref (forgot the exact filename)same behavior. I use .mac to sync between computers, and I use Missing Sync to sync to a Palm T|X.
My safari menu bar is missing. The menu bar for desktop, HD, and apps appears, but when I click on Safari, it disappears, so I can no longer see my buttons for History, etc. I think my husband (pc user) clicked it away when borrowing my computer.Â

Whenever I minimize a window in Safari it disappears, rather than show the minimized window on the dashboard. It never used to do that. When I click on the yellow minimizing button, the genie effect brings it to the Safari icon on the dock. From there, it seems to have disappeared.

Is it possible to keep the dock visible at all times, as well as the Finder bar and bookmarks in Safari? This was the case before Lion.

This issue has been annoying people for a number of years and all kinds of solutions have been posted by Geniuses, mainly to carefully dump the Safari .plist from the Preferences folder. That does not fix the issue! What does work is this: View, Enter FULL SCREEN. Click it 'OFF'. The display will resize and IF you want to stretch it bigger, you can BUT the Toolbar will stop disappearing!

My Safari and iTunes icons are just spaces on my dock. There is no icon for either of them. If I click where there would be an icon, the programs launch. If I hover over the spaces, it shows the name of iTunes and Safari like it does for every other program. When they are open it shows the little light under the blank space like it normally would.

I have just been using Mail, clicked on the red button at the top left to quit, but the mail window just kept disappearing all but about 3mm off the screen to the top and top left and not quitting. I have also had this happen when using Safari, occasionally if I click on a link on the page to another open another page Safari disappears off the top and top left except for about 3mm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything was fine. Then I ran the software update and there was Safari 4.0.5 and I decided to update. After my iMac had restarted, the OS went completely berserk. If I click the dropdown menus, they start to flicker and run trough over and over again by itself and I can't click anything. My mouse buttons do straight things, bring up the finder and then I can't even go through the folders. I can't write with my keyboard, it just gives me random letters and I can't delete them. I mean the computer went completely crazy. I've never seen anything like this and I've used this iMac perfectly now almost two years. Everything is just flashing, flickering, jamming, cursor disappearing and doing straight things, I can't do pretty much anything. This has to be a virus, right?

After upgrading my MacPro 1,1 to Lion, 2 GB of RAM are not recognized anymore. Â
I have 9 GB installed: 2x2 GB, 4x1 and the original 2x512MB.Â
In Snow Leopard, all 9GB were available, now only 7 GB are displayed. According to the memory info, 2 slots (with 1GB each) are 'empty'. I bought all RAM from Crucial.Â

It seems since I upgraded to Lion that I have to rely on opening some Numbers file from the File -> Open Recent menu. Some files do not appear in Spotlight and look like they are not on my machine as I cannot find them in the Finder either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI lost a folder of images that I had to rescue via Time Machine. I thought I got the clumsies, and deleted them by mistake. But checking this morning, My "Bob apps" where I keep apps not in the application folder, apps where missing peacemeal in each folder.Â
I check images again, and files were randomly missing here and there, same with mp3s. I'm suffering from blurry icons, and the random, auto shutdown that various users are experimenting with their Macs. why the random self deletion?

The problem I am having is in Photoshop 12.0.4. I had set my cursor to show brush size but whenever I click and drag using a brush (any type of brush) the cursor changes to a standard Macintosh arrow cursor for the duration of the drag, then reverts to the brush size cursor only when I stop dragging. This makes it very difficult to see where I am painting. This only occurs on my MacBookPro… my iMac performs exactly as I would expect it to. I have quit Photoshop and deleted all my settings and preferences files but it doesn't make any difference. I have tried different combinations of cursor settings with no success. I have an external monitor connected to my MBP but it doesn't matter which screen my PS window is on.

I have noticed that my HD space is just disappearing. I have turned off Time Machine Snapshots, so that is not the source of problem. When I go to "About Mac" and "More Info" and Storage it is showing "Others" as taking about 170 GB. The only notable software I have installed are MS Office and HP Printer utilities. Any way to check that is eating up my hard disk space?Â

I've dragged a few often-used files to my finder sidebar, as I did in Snow Leopard, but they keep disappearing. After a little experimentation, I realize that they drop off the sidebar as soon as I change the file in any way. For example, if I have a Pages doc in the sidebar and I open and edit it, as soon as I save the change, it drops off the sidebar. I can see this happening in real time.Â

Maybe I am missing a setting somewhere but the wee triangles alongside folders in list view randomly disappear. To see what is inside a folder, therefore I have to double-click (which kind of defeats the idea of list view methinks!)
