I am just wondering whether it would be possible to reduce the heat rise that occurs once flashplayer is running. Everything goes back to normal when the player is stopped down.

Is it normal that the back temperature of my MacBook Pro 2011 is higher after upgraded from HDD to SSD?
I guess this is due to the fact CPU is not limited anymore by the HDD..
I know the heating up issue has been raised several times all over the internet. But none of the discussions has satisfied my the concerns I have with my system. So I am going to put my case a new, although I believe the answers are going to be the same as on other similar discussions.
I recently bought MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2.2 GHz, late 2011, OS X Lion). The system usually runs perfectly. I just have two issues:
i. Occassionally it freezes up when more then one apps are running. I have noticed this is usually when Firefox is running in the background. Also happened with Safari a couple of times.
But my main concern and query is the point no. ii (below)
ii. During the normal usuage the fans don't make a noise (even with multiple apps that are not burden on the RAM). The systems heat up is as normal as that of a PC while running on its normal situation. However, when I play games (like BioShock, Sims etc) Mac just heats up immensly and fans kick in. I have never seen/felt a computer get this hot before.
My late 2012 MacBook Pro overheats when asleep. The fan blasts until it shuts itself down (I get a message). This started after the most recent update. I am at 10.9.3. Also, I now have a magenta flash when starting up. Now I always shut down the computer when I am done so it won't destroy itself.

I bought Apple Cinema Display and a MBP Unibody. I was told that the lid of the MBP must be closed from boot-up so that the display will be transferred to ACD. I did this, I found out that after a while, even with no high cpu load or usage... it become very hot and fan goes up.
The heat goes away when I open the lid... I tried putting a cooler fan below the MBP.
Not sure if anyone else has this problem or not, I noticed on my 2007 model MacBook Pro, that when I view videos through either Safari, Firefox or any other browser, my GPU temp goes up to around 81 degree celsius unless fans kick in OR I set them to kick in.
I observe temp using iStat Widget.
On the other hand, I just finished watching a movie on my very same laptop through VLC, that is through a media player and not through flash and noticed that temperature barely hit 63 degree celsius. I know flash still has issues and that this will not probably improve with my model ever in the future, but is it normal and should I live with it?
I own a early 2011 edition of MBP, with 2.3 Ghz i5 processor and 4 GB ram. Everytime it wakes up from the sleep mode, it heats up with the internal fans constantly on.. Moreover, the estimated battery life shows as 2 hours even when the percentage is 97%.. However, when I restart the MBP, the heating stops and the battery life shows 5 hours..

I have installed Adobe Flashplayer 10 many times and can not get it to work. The installation completes and states successful but when I go to test it it asks me to download. Also when I get to certain pages it states I do not have an mime plug in to support. I am definitely not computer literate and I am hoping someone can walk me thru this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am encountering the problems 9 out of 10 times when I am watching a video on youtube in fullscreen. The problem seems to be when I use fullscreen.... It also crashes when on other sites watching videos, but I use youtube daily.. After it crashes, I need to quit safari first and then restart safari for internet to work again, otherwise I need to wait 1 till a few minutes for it gets to my homepage and internet works again.
I tried reinstalling safari, reinstalling flashplayer and resetting safari, but with no luck. Don't know if it will do any good, but I am on the first MB aluminum unibody, using Safari 5.0.1 (6533.17.8) and I think flashplayer 10.6
I wanted to add the error, but it is to long. If someone want to look at it, I am happy to send it through email or whatever is handy....
After the flashback malware last week and the update from Apple to get rid of the trojan, Adobe is asking for another update to there software. Is this ok to download or are we asking for more trouble. My computer was affected last week and with the removal tool it was fixed. I just hate the thought of another version. Anyone downloaded this update from adobe?

I am using a 2002 eMac, 700 MHz, G4 processor. I have OSX10.3.9. The machine and software runs flawlessly. However, since 10.3.9 is the latest version of OSX I can run due to hardware limitations, I am often unable to look at certain websites since they use the latest Adobe Flashplayer that I am unable to download because of of the 10.3.9 version I am running. I have Flashplayer 7.0 on my machine.
Is there a later version I can download?

I have a Macbook running Leopard and an iMac running Tiger. I am looking to upgrade Leopard to Snow Leopard and Tiger to Leopard. If I were to purchase Snow Leopard and install it on the Macbook, would I then be able to use the copy of Leopard that came with the Macbook on the iMac? I am not trying to use 2 copies of the same thing on different machines, I just want to put a new os on one machine and move the existing one to another.I am reluctant to purchase the Mac Box Set version of Snow Leopard for the iMac because I do not want or need iLife and iWork.

From other posts, I have checked my activity monitor to see if any process is taking up a lot of the CPU % and have found that nothing seems high, except the kernel_task which, from what I understand, is supposed to be high. I have also attempted to reset the SMC which didn't fix the problem either. I have taken my computer to the genius bar 3 times now, and they keep telling me nothing is wrong (because it works perfectly there), but when I get it home the fan comes back on, and everything runs slowly.

My Mac feels as if it is running slower these last couple of months. I have thought of pursuing a commercially available "clean up" product, but thought I would try the community first and also for pointers using the Mac's own internal diagnostics or system improvement capabilities. Any and all advice is most welcome. I have a 250GB hard drive that is half full, I always update to latest revisions and have an extra high-speed internet connection. Computer is not heavily loaded with apps and typically using Firefox for browsing. (MS Office for Mac as well, but usually limited to one program such as MS Word or Excel at a time.) No heavy graphics utilization. Videos from the internet load slowly and some are choppy. Even scrolling just doesn't seem "brisk".

I've had an iMac for just about a year and over time I guess I just didn't notice but the machine always ran very quietly. At the same time the back of the computer would heat up so bad that it would nearly burn my hand if I left it there. Well last week I decided to upgrade to Lion from Snow Leopard and when I did the install failed and froze up the hard drive. I took the computer in to the apple store and they determined that it had to have a new hard drive installed because the old one (only a year old) had a physical malfunction (was broke). So anyway I have my iMac back and get it started up, backed up from time machine, and then finally get Lion istalled - and now all of the sudden I notice that the fans in the computer are CONSTANTLY blowing - I can hear them spinning and can hear the air venting out of the back of the computer - and the computer is STILL really hot on the backside of the screen.
So now I am wondering if the originial problem was the computer heating up and if that may have broken the otherwise good hard drive? Also now that I have a new hard drive - should I be concerned about the fans being on ALL the time? I mean they never go off. Even when I leave the computer for hours and come back to it and the screen is asleep the fans are STILL buzzing away at top speed. Here is the stats on the computer at the time that I'm typing this note - there are no other programs running than Firefox and Mail. Also - I don't know what the optical drive is exaclty - but if it's the DVD drive (superdrive) - there is nothing in the DVD disc drive

This is the first time I've tried OWC memory. So far, so good - the Mac recognizes the RAM and boots okay. Everything I've tried thus far post-upgrade works. I am a happy camper now - my Mac was a bit sluggish due to running out of physical RAM running Parallels.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I updated to 10.6.6 earlier today I've noticed that the fan in my MBA (13" late-2010 model) is running constantly. This is rare -- I hardly ever hear it. I opened activity monitor and 'System' is using 45% CPU time, and it's pretty constant.
I have absolutely no clue why -- there's nothing in console to suggest it's doing some task, and I can't see any other hints. Apart from the noise and the heat (though don't get me wrong -- compared to my old MBP it's not really noisy or hot, but I liked it better when it was totally quiet and cold), it's also killing the battery -- 25% has gone in less than an hour.
I'm floating between a MB and MBA, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried running Flash CS on their Air. What about via Parallels or BootCamp?

I am currently running safari, quiksilver, and adium, and my CPU temperature has been going between 55 and 60 degrees C. When I plug in my second monitor and play a movie, my temperature goes up to 79 degrees, and sometimes into the 80's. My macbook is on a wooden desk, propped up by two pens at all times, and i am trying smcfancontrol but it won't change my fan speed to what i ask it to.
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy macbook is from late 2006, it was the midlevel model, 2GHZ Intel Core Duo. I have 2 Gigs of non-apple ram. My fan is kicking on all of the time. This has always been problematic but seems to be a lot worse now. It kicks on whenever I slightly push the machine using photoshop, whenever I go online to a site w/ flash anything on it, and whenever I do simple things like play Snood? Weird right? I know that these have always been ovens but something seems wrong. I've never had a mac laptop act this way before except once when a motherboard went bad. The fan sounds like a 747 during takeoff. I ran a HW test to see if anything was weird and it all came out fine, even the RAM. Has anyone else out there run into this? Do you know if I need to swap out my 2 gigs for the original apple ram to bring it into a store?

My new i5 MBP's fans run at 2000 RPM from wake/start-up to sleep/shut down. Just wondering if this is the new normal or my machine needs a tweak.
My 2011 MBP began getting hot about a week ago, the fan keeps running. For obvious reasons the battery only lasts about 2 hours then. I have AppleCare, however don't live close to an Apple Store. Anything I can do? or am I bound to shipping it off? After looking around in the forum, I thought I would add that I am only looking at webpages and doing simple word documents.
