I recently use facetime from Mac pro. it asked me to log in using my apple ID. I have log in with my apple ID. it show confirmed and after i choose next button it always kick me out and ask me to log in again. i have check on the troubleshooting and it suggest to check the timezone. my timezone is correct and i also use the latest OS X.

However it is not able to complete the verification and keeps giving the following error message : Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again.
I have checked the support forums and they all point towards preferences. Problem is that the preferences option for face time is grayed out and I am not able to use them.Â

I wonder if with regards to accessing FaceTime on multiple devices. We have a number of Mac products (iPad, iPhones and Mac Book Pro) at our house, all connected to one wireless network. Some of these devices can log into FaceTime but others cannot (notably the MacBook pro), using the same Apple ID details. The error message I get is that I should check my network connection. However, the connection is fine, and other devices have no problems with connecting to Facetime.

Just downloaded Facetime into Snow Leopard. Everything is up to date. Have not been able to open it. Keeps telling me that I need to quit Facetime and open it again.Â

I just got mine refurbished and it appears in perfect condition, and runs perfectly, but I have no idea whether the previous owner stressed it, in which case it may be more likely to break, or may break soon after my year is up. I don't really want to buy AppleCare, but I guess I might if it really is worth it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Mac OS X 10.6.4 installation on a Macbook Pro 5,1. I use two separate hard drives, one for Windows and the other for Mac. I accidentally switched from Windows to Mac with Windows in sleep mode. When I opened the computer, Windows resumed and BSoD'd. I panicked and forced the computer to shut down. It wouldn't boot into Windows, so I used my Snow Leopard install disk to attempt a repair. It didn't even finish. I tried a repair installation. It wouldn't install with the message "This disk cannot be modified." Disk Utility is telling me to back up and clean install. If there is a way to avoid this, what is it? And I don't have a backup; if there is no way of repairing my installation how do I back up my files?

ok, so i have a black macbook. im not sure what year, maybe 08 or 09. at first i tried installing lion via usb. i installed it onto a 8gb flash drive, inserted it into the computer, botted up, held the option key, and EFI Boot option appears. i click on it and i get the circle slash symbol. so i tried installing it onto a dvd and no luck. same result. I've done this several times before with other computers and its worked fine.

I have a 4T G-Drive connected to my firewire port. I am using Time Machine to perform backups. I see that some backups have been performed as expected. Time Machine is failing unexpectedly now. I get the error message "Backup Failed. Time Machine couldn't back up to G-Drive" The disk is there and connected correctly. I have successful back ups. But now it caannot use the G-Drivve which exists and has plenty of room on it.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a new 17" uMBP that I've owned for just a few days. I noticed yesterday that while I watching a video that i had strange green/red lines (horizontal) appear across the screen and flash/flicker. I freaked out and closed the lid, putting the unit into sleep, and opened it again and it all stopped. Today, I was using it again as usual, on firefox/etc. when it started happening again. Horizontal lines across the screen, the entire display flickering and screwing up and finally going black. I don't know what's going on, but I know this definitely isn't supposed to happen. I took a screenshot during the flickering/lines/etc but the screenshot came out perfectly fine unfortunately. I'll try and get it on camera next time.
I have all software updates installed. I tried resetting PRAM. The flickering I'm talking about isn't minor, it's actually absolutely horrendous and the computer is completely unusable when it's going on. It ultimately leads to a black screen. Anyway, this is all on the 9400, and I have no idea what's going on but I definitely know this isn't supposed to happen. UPDATE: I booted into Windows via bootcamp and it STILL happens. I also connected it to an external display(which works perfect), which leads me to believe that it's 100% a hardware issue. I'm taking it back to the apple store, enough said. This is my first Mac and I can say I'm definitely not happy to be having such issues with a $2500 machine.
I have a 2011 MacBook Air and I love it but I am getting concerned that the hard drive is failing. The amount available keeps changing by a few gigabytes..it will start the day with 10 or 11 GB available and then drop down to 9 or 10 GB and sometimes you can watch the amount available creep up in small increments every minute or so. It is not constantly fluxuating and of course I understand that if I move files on and off the computer, the space available will change. I have been using Macs for 20 years and I fear this is a sign my hard drive is going to fail. I am backing up the computer regularly.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I first set up my mail application on Mac to sync up with my web based mail (hotmail) I did not uncheck the flag NOT to remove the emails from the server. This resulted in all my mails until 2010 (time of Mail setup) to be synched up with Mail app on Mac AND removal of them from the hotmail server. Because of this, they are not accessible through Web interface anymore.
Since hotmail is using POP, I am unable to sync it back from Mail app to the hotmail server. I am trying to redirect all emails from Mail app to my hotmail account, but the redirection changes the from address field. I thought that the difference between Forward and Redirect was the way these functions interpret and act on the From field like:
- Forward function would change the From field to show the current account it is sent from
- Redirect function would keep From field intact in the message, so that my hotmail would see the original From field and not the one of my Mail account server.
It seems that both of these functions work more or less the same in Mail app. Could I get a clarification on it, or at least a solution on how to get my mail back to the hotmail server? I do not want to forward, since all the messages will appear like they were from me, causing a big mess.

I have the latest MacBook Pro with Retina display with quad core. No attachments whether pdf, images, or documents will attach to any email program on any browser on the Maverick OS. This is a defect only with the MacBook Pro. My iMac quad core works great with attachments as would be expected.Â
Any answers as to why attachments fail to attach and gives the spinning beachball requiring a force quit. Eventually, I take the file on a memory stick to my iMac to attach it there on any browser with any email.

Just thought I should test with an external keyboard to see if that also has the same issue. I'll do that.

Howdy all. I just inherited my first Mac, a 500 MHz dual boot ibook. I have put a legal (from a friend who no longer has it installed) copy of OSX 10.4 on it, but when I try to send the registration it says Apple is busy/or I couldn't connect to the internet. I am connected via a LAN and can browse and the like. I try to register by connecting via a modem and it connects, talks with Apple, thinks, and then says Apples is busy/or I couldn't connect to the internet. Am I doing something wrong? The machine is working fine, but I think I can't get updates until I register?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed last night the 1TB WD Scorpio Blue without a problem in a 2010 MBP 13", but seem to be having some issues now. Im showing the drive is shown w/red text and failing the SMART status in the disk utility. It showed verified when I installed it last night and reinstalled OS X, but now this. I have also been getting some beachballs, but does seem to be running fine now. Is this a sign of just a bad drive, or is it normal for a non-apple drive to fail the smart status check?
