MacBook Pro :: Won't Work With Blu-Ray Burner

Sep 29, 2009

Anyone have a BD Burner that they use on their Mac Books or Mac Book Pro? I am interested in getting one to backup my images, I am a photographer and shoot in the RAW format. I also just purchased a new camera, where the uncompressed images are anywhere from 20-30MB a photo. So projects tend to be quite large.

MacBook :: Replace DVD Burner With SDD Drive?

I am looking in to switching my DVD-Burner in my Macbook (13" Unibody) to a SSD Drive, I found MCE that does have a product called optibay that lets you do it. However I think it is a little pricey $99 plus shipping to Sweden and what ever the customs decides to charge me. Are there any alternatives, preferably in the EU?

Apr 16, 2008

My Macbook (1.83 Ghz Intel COre Duo, Mac OSX 10.4.10) won't recognize or find my external LAcie Porshe dvd burner... Although I have used it many times since buying it 18 months ago. Suddenly, Toast doesn't seem to see it, neither does iDVD 6.0.3... The burn button doesn't activate and stays closed. The weird thing is that when I check the system profiler, it sees it. What gives?

MacBook :: Blu - Ray Burner - AVCHD - High Definition 1080i (HD)

May 4, 2009

We had a new addition to the family (baby) so I decided to get a videocamera. Wanted something future proof, so got a high definition memory card based camera: Sony CX11 Needed a new computer, had an old PC, but for some reason went to the other side and purchased a Macbook- I heard they were very good at editing video (and it is). Within 2 weeks I had completely filled my 250GB hard drive with all this movie footage! I need to get it off my Macbook and free up my hard drive!

Editing in iMovie... no probs. Burning in i DVD... few glitches, but got there in the end. Cool, no probs you think right... NO I have a 1080p TV screen, and a PS3. So i'm recording in 1080i HD footage, but I'm losing all the HD quality!!! The DVD image quality is so poor in comparison with the quality I get when I plug my camcorder into my TV. Its frustrating...................

MacBook Pro :: New Macs With No CD Drive?

Jun 13, 2012

I am considering the new Macboom Pro with Retina display -- but it has no CD/DVD drive. Some programs (e.g. Rosetta stone) require the original CD be in the hard drive for the program to work -- which seems to prohinbit the new (Retina display) Macbook Pro. Does anyone know how to avoid this problem?[Note: I have tried making a disk image mounting that ... but the program refuses to recognise that.

Mac Pro :: Won't Work Blu-Ray Burner / Can't Find

I was hoping you could recommend me a Blu-Ray burner for my new Mac Pro.

From what I've found, these are the top 2 choices:

http://www.mcetech.com/blu-ray/

and

(URL)

The second one is external - I prefer internal that I can drop into the Mac Pro. But it does have LightScribe - nice! Maybe there's something out there that is internal AND has LightScribe? Who here has installed a blu-ray burner into their Mac Pro?
