So Ive got the new aluminum MBP and got an incase shell for it. For the first few months I would open my screen and at about 90 degrees it would feel like it was about at the stopping point so I left it there, like the older ones.
I recently let a friend use it and not being familiar with the product he forced it a bit further before I could leap across the room and stop him, I heard a bit of a creak and it ended up going all the way back, as far as it would without a case. Everything seems to be in place but it really did sound like something broke, and I couldnt do this before without force. Is this normal?
this is my first time posting,so my bad if i do anything wrong.
My backlight doesn't work when i tilt the screen less than 90 degrees. is there anything i can do besides take it to the apple store? I'd rather my dad didn't find out
Occasionally, my Mac Pro's (8-core early 2008) fans will go to full speed after a shut down. I did the procedure of unplugging everything and letting it sit for 15 mins, and that seemed to work for a day or 2...but last night the problem was back. The only solution is to hold down the power switch for 10 seconds. I just reset PRAM -- we'll see if that has any effect.
I am trying to find a good quality webcam to use for videoconferencing with my Mac (MacBook Air actually). The camera is to be positioned on the 60-inch screen on the wall in our boardroom so the built-in Facetime camera doesn't do the job. It needs to have tilt/pan/zoom (in software). When I started on this search I had no idea such a thing was going to be so hard to find. There is no shortage of such products for Windows but I can't find a single one for the Mac.
There are a lot of webcams that claim to support Mac but on closer investigation not a single one of them (that I've found so far anyhow) provides any control features like tilt / pan / zoom - nor even brightness and contrast control for that matter. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places because it's hard to believe the Mac world really is lacking such products.
If I tilt my iBook a certain way or that, sometimes it'll try to eject a CD, even if there's not one in the drive. This has me sort of concerned, has anyone else's done that?
i finally got my High Res Glossy MBP after 4 weeks of waiting...Everything works fine...and NO yellow tint issue...The only problem is 1 small dead pixel towards the bottom right of the screen...Will apple do an exchange on CTO machines with only 1 dead pixel? Is it even worth doing the exchange? After reading these forums i see that a lot of other users have been complaining about all types of problems...Yellow tint, wifi problems, over heating...etcshould I consider myself lucky? And just be happy that its only 1 small pixel?
i just bought the game Spore and i am having troubles with it. 1st after i download the cd an update pops up for the game back to back to back to etc. and its the same update. Then when i run the game everything works fine (the begining cut scenes) but when the game is about to start it cuts off and an error popup comes up.
I'm an idiot, pleased to meet you.I had 2 external drives connected to my Macbook Pro, both had time machine back ups on...I meant to delete one of these but deleted the wrong one, and dragged it into Trash. On realising my mistake I tried to drag it back out of Trash, as you would normally but after "preparing to copy" for four hours it told me the drive was full...It's a 500gb drive, and the Time Machine back up is the only thing on it, so presumably it's just trying to copy itself when the back up is still present on the drive, albeit in the Trash.
i just deleted a file and wanted to use the new glorious "put back" function in SL that moves a trashed file back to it's place. However neither by right-clicking on the file in the trash nor in the file menu there is a "put back" option.Where is it?Edit: Ok i find this very strange. On this particular file there was no "put back" but when i do on another folder/ file there is. WTF?
i have my power saver set up so that the display goes to sleep after 30 minutes do i get it to wake back up without pressing the power button in the back?
There are a gazillion Time Capsule threads and my question is probably answered in one of them. But I've been skimming them and can't find it. Also couldn't find it in the Apple support docs. So...Does anybody know how far back TC backups go? Does it just hold on to the latest backup or can you go back awhile to recover your files? For example, if a file was corrupted six months ago, will I be able to retrieve the prior uncorrupted version of it - or just the latest TC backup version of it (which would of course also be corrupted)?
Does anybody expect that new Macbook Pro will be released on this October 20th - Back to the Mac - event? I'm planning for a new MBP, but I keep hesitating to buy right now or late. Buyers guide says there are about 20 days to go for a new MBP, uh, anyways, do you think that a new MBP will be released on Oct 20th?
I have never backed up my mac, because I don't know how. I have a PC at home that I wonder if i can use for an external drive to back up to. Also, I keep hearing about Time Machine and iCloud.
I purchased a MacBook on Yahoo Japan Auction. It had mac os x 10.7 pre-installed. Today morning unfortunately my hard drive failed and I had to replace my hard drive. Is there any method to get my system back to Mac os 10.7 without paying extra? The os DVD set with my macbook is for mac os x 10.4. Is there any way to get my mac os 10.7 back?
I have a normally MacBook and I installed a lot of programs in the start. Now I deleted them all - but my dock is in 2D it seems - I want it back to 3D like I was when I bought the computer!?
My 4/5 month old MBP has twice now "gone dead" and then just "come back to life". I'll just be browsing, nothing flash heavy and nothing else too taxing on the processor (email, itunes open but not playing, maybe text edit) and for no reason obvious to me the screen goes dead/black along with the back light on the keyboard dying. Then 2secs later the whole thing starts up again right were it left off, not a system restart like you might get if the battery dies, but the same way it would if you had physically pulled up the screen while it's been asleep.
Mac OS X version 10.6.2 2.53 Ghz Intel core 2 duo 4GB Memory
i reinstalled osx snow leopard 10.6.4 (or something close) but i was wondering how to make it wipe everything else that i had on there, so that its like i just bought it.
I am thinking about switching back from Pc to the Mac; however I have a Dell 256 SSD P800 made by Samsung and was wondering if it was possible to swap the drive in the current MBP 13" with the 256 Samsung SSD? Would I need to install drivers or would it be as easy as installing the drive in the MBP and running the Snow Leopard disk?
Remove quicktime from my mackbook Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and and now can't use my itunes. say some like that... itunes need Quictime 7.5.5 or later to run.
i don't have the original cd for put back my mac in original factory.

I get my picture and little password 'window' to sign in/log in, but even if I put the correct password in it just shakes 'no'.Next to the password box an arrow points right, but if I click it it just shakes. After attempting to sign in an 'up' arrow appears next to the right arrow in the password box, but clicking on it does nothing?I had been working on and off for hours on an important letter and don't want to lose it.The first time I tried to get back in after a period of sleep, I got a message that a user was logged in and if I attempted to sign in they
I was work uns in macbook pro attached to a monitor and keyboard+mouse and suddenly it began to get slow and I noticed the battery icon in 0% but with charging status, after that it turned off and I couldn't turn it on again... I let it charge but the charging bar on the side keeps blinking the first led and do not charge further.
Did I lose my battery? My motherboard is dead? I made the same and the charger light responded as it was normal.
On my MacBook Pro, I am trying to back up a document to CD. I am getting a message that says, "You do not have permission to load document to 'filename'. Make sure you have write access for this location". I did a repair permissions in Disk Utility, not sure why it will not let me.
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), I am downloading OX S Yosemite now
