View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep getting "problem reports" when trying to open applications that have worked fine for years. Microsoft Word, Photopshop, Illustrator an Avery CD Sticker maker all give me the problem report window with the yellow trianlge and exclmation point when I try to open them and say:Â "____ has quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically." Â Clicking reopen offers the same thing again, and again, and again. It started yesterday with Photoshop and Illustrator, so I took them off my computer and tried to reinstall them. Now I get "Install Photoshop has quit unexpectedly. etc.."Â I ran the disc utility and it said my hard drive was OK.Â

There is an error when opening webpages which contain web videos. How to fix it?

I created a file yesterday and when I tried to open it today, it was somehow renamed to "Word Work File L_1.tmp". I tried to open it but i got an error message saying "The application Microsoft Word can't be opened- 108" and so i tried deleting it but i got an error " The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found.
(Error code -43)" ARGHh! I can't even rename it or anything! its just there and i cant even remove it. Â
So I copied and pasted a new one and renamed it (yes i could somehow copy and paste) and that one can open, rename and close, so its normal. I havnt tried restarting my macbook because i have another app opened and i would possibly like to not restart or anything at the moment.

How do I set up my mbp to open documents with Microsoft Word 2003 "always" under VMWare Fusion? I tried to set it up but it is not an option/can't figure out where Microsoft Word 2003 is when I right click and go "Open With." It says Microsoft Word 2003 - Boot camp partition but I want it so that it "Always Open with" Microsoft Word 2003.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to MacRumors. I just installed IWork on my new 13" MBP (has Snow Leopard) and have been unable to open Word 97 documents that I've been emailing myself from work and saving to a flash drive. I have not had such problems with my IMac using Pages.

I have a document with lot of text inside it. There are also several links. I want to be able to open all links of the document to safari tabs. The only way I have to do it 'till now is to manually copy paste each link from word pages to safari tabs. Is there any way to automate this repetitive task? Either by selecting all links of word and somehow opening them, or using osx automator? I 've not used automator before, I do not know if this task can be automated. Can you please help me to make the whole task faster and simpler?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until yesterday I was solely a Windows/PC-based computer user. I am now running Mac OS X with my new Mac Pro. Before turning off my PC system, hopefully forever, I downloaded all my MS Word files to a USB stick. I'm a writer and only worked in MS Word for my work.I just purchased iWork '09 and am very impressed with the Pages App and I'm very excited to start working in Pages '09. when I insert my USB stick with all my Word Docs on it into my Mac Pro, is it a case like under Windows/XP where you just open up each file with the Pages '09 program or is there something more to do to get Pages '09 to open the file up and save it within Pages '09? I understand Pages '09 works with MS Word files (as well as formatting to Word docs to send to colleagues).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have several hundred word processing files I prepared in MS WORD. I moved the folders containing this files from my old computer to my new iMac. Every time I try to open one of these files, I see a box on the screen saying the file cannot be opened.
This is true when I try to use MS WORD for mac, when I try Pages, and when I try other word processors.
I suspect some sort of permissions need to be set for the folders or the files. I hope it can be done in "bulk"
This didnt use to happen but now when I open Word or Excel it seems to want to open all the recent Docs that I have worked on as well?Â
Looked at all the preferences and cant find anything to turn this off or work out why it is doing this now when it didnt use to?Â

I'm guessing it's connected with my recently updating my MacBook Pro (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7) to OS 10.9.4. Whether I open Word by clicking on a Word document, opening it via Spotlight, or directly clicking the application icon itself, my keyboard is changed from Dvorak to the standard American English keyboard. And as if that weren't irritating enough, if I change the keyboard back to Dvorak, opening another Word document while Word is still open causes it to flip back to American English.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAt the end of two very long days of copy editing my husband's book (and many frustrating setbacks in MS Word for Mac), I have finished and am now attempting to export 140 page word document to PDF. I am able to successfully export 137 pages and then I keep getting this error message:
"A footer of section 27 is set outside the printable area of the page. DO you want to continue?"
I've gotten this error before and typically I just click yes and get on with it, but what's happening is that it is saving pages 1-137 as one PDF file and then the last 3 pages as a separate file. During one attempt it even saved the last 3 pages as 3 separate files. I need this to be all one file in order to upload the book to [URL]
I tried this on both my laptop (Version 10.5.2) and my desktop (10.4.11) I am using Word 2004.
I also want to make sure that all my fonts and graphics are automatically embedded when I save to this type of PDF.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iBook G4 with an OS X 10.3.9 operating system. Earlier today my screen went blank and appeared to have turned off on its own, even though it still had more than half of its battery charge. I pressed the power button, then had to press it again to restart it. When I tried to access my Word documents, I got this message:
The application "Word" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "1<Microsoft Word><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonCore>"
I have explored all of the online advice, I have checked the Console (the error code is -2804), I have run Disk Utility for the disk permissions, I have re-installed my operating system. I still cannot open anything in Microsoft Office (2004), nor can I open AppleWorks. I am on the verge of a mental breakdown because I have 3 major papers due this week. If I can't have access to Word on my computer I won't be able to finish them on time.
