My trackpad is making these weird noises. The light click you hear happens when I lightly tap the trackpad. You can also hear it compared to the normal trackpad click sound. I recorded it last night on my macbook pro.
I have heard this "bleep"ish sound twice now in the last 15 minutes. It sounds like it is not coming from the studio monitors that I am using as speakers. It's rather hot right now...
So I'm using my air today and when I press the trackpad button slightly, it makes a clicking noise... of course, not the click it makes when you fully press it. Hard to explain the sound, but before it really recognizes the function, it makes a sound like an external mouse click. sorry if this doesn't make sense... hard to explain.
1.33 Ghz) has started acting up, and while I think I know what the problem is, I'd like some confirmation. The symptoms:
After starting the PB up, it runs for about 5 minutes before we get a permanent spinning beach ball. When the beach ball is up, I hear what sounds like (and is coming from) the hard drive. It sounds like it's spinning either way to fast, or as if something is wrong with it. All the open programs freeze, and we do a forced shut down. Also, the first time this happened, we had a song playing in iTunes. The song would play a 2 second clip, then stop, then start, and continue to stutter.
We've tried turning the computer off, unplugging the battery and the power, but it still does this.I think it's a hard drive problem, and that we need a new hard drive. Does this sound correct?
now what I have noticed is that the same monitors (speakers) i had with my older imac (24") are constantly making a louder "white noise" than what they used to (didnt bother me that much but i definitely noticed a louder volume of white noise). The thing that really bothers me is that whenever i scroll the mouse, or click and drag an object in photoshop or something the monitors are making a really noticeable disturbing scratching sound sound ...just cant seem to make it stop..its so annoying.. i also tried to record something and the imac recorded it in a really low volume and unstable wave (volume going up and down). so i figured well obivously the soundcard of the new imac was real bad..so got me an external soundcard, Emagic emi6|2m and i figured it would solve the problem. installed the soundcard, and played a song and suddenly a high pitch noise, kinda loud and really disturbing, started coming from the speakers.
2 seconds after i pauseded the song, the sound stopped. play the song, the noise comes, stop the song, noise stop after 2 seconds. if i open up Logic, the sound just starts no matter what. quit Logic and the sound stops. just now i opened up a youtube video and the sound just started going off even after i paused the video. now the sound comes everytime i choose the Emagic soundcard in the sound preferences. its kinda real loud and its bothering me so much, i cant seem to make it go away and definitely cant work with it. When i tried installing the soundcard on my brother's laptop windows with the same speakers, everything was fine and it played perfect with no noise. whaaaaat can i possibly do, this actually really frustrates me.... whats wrong with the computer? something with electricity?
Alright, so I got this weird problem. Every time I unplug my mouse from my Macbook and start using my track pad, the track pad settings get all messed up. The scrolling and double click speed go to the slowest possible setting. What gives?
After opening my macbook pro from sleep sometimes, maybe all the time, when i move cursor in the top left of the screen (area approx 2 inch down by 1 inch across from top corner) where the trackpad is unresponsive. I can move the cursor around there but i cant select anything so eg, closing a tab in safari.

Dont know what's going on but my trackpad is really weird... Im having sensitivity problems.. extra sensitivity when I drag stuff or select ( even when I do not want to ) and extra low sensitivity in the bottom part of the trackpad.
Should I contact apple? Or just a software problem.
That's so creepy... I just came back from watching Tv. and i hear some weird noises like there's papers inside the Mac Mini's Fans. And it's a bit scary.Does anyone have any clue why is that? I have no Disc inside. And it seems like it stopped but who knows maybe it can return back.
I am not sure how to describe it properly, but since 10 minutes ago, my trackpad on my 13"mbp has been making a weird clicking sound. Normally, it makes a click which is regular, just like the store units/how it should be, however for the last 10 minutes the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER ONLY makes a weird longer noise which I cannot properly describe. its almost like a rattling noise, or something that sounds like its breaking. had this mbp since july this year, and i do have apple care (got it on student discount price!!
Just wondering if you know what the problem is, Or if it is going to be a problem/if trackpad may be breaking Or if I rang apple/took instore what would they do. Reason why I havent immediately took it in is because if MBP could get new processors soon, I could take it in after refresh in the small chance I get a new computer replacement..........
I have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.
My MB's trackpad button is spoilt, I think there's something wrong with the spring which makes it unclickable and sometimes remains pressed.
Is there anyway to disable only the trackpad button but not the whole trackpad? Tapping still works, but the MB mistakens it as dragging sometimes because the button is stuck as a pressed button.
I have a first generation macbook pro and lately the fan has been making some horrible noises. I opened it up and blew some of the dust off. My fans are running at about 3700 rpms and my cpu temp is around 60 C. Is this problem definitely one of the fans? My computer sounds like it wants to explode. I've attached a sound file of it.
almost every time or at least 80% of the times i open my MACBOOK i hear a sound (kinda like a cracking noise) when opening it more than 90* angle, it seems it comes from the hinge on the left side, ohh and when it does that sound you can feel it, it is like if it gets stuck or something. Sorry i hope you guys can understand cause my english is really bad Is that NORMAL!?? it doesnt really bother me, but if that can give me a problem ahead on the road i better try to fix it now... OHH and theres no APPLESTORE near, i dont even know if it exist a applestore in PR , so i cant go there and have them check it...
I bought a MacBook Pro about 10 days ago and it had several dead pixels. That got swapped out for another one which had bubbles of liquid under the glass. I'm on the third now which has a slightly warped case and is now making this clicking noise (0:15) every minute or so.
I don't know what to do - I feel so awkward going in and asking for another swap. Has anyone else got this noise?
I bought a MB Air 3 weeks ago. After a few hours the aluminium housing started to make some strange crackling noises.Mostly on the front right side, but meanwhile it's allover the housing and it gets more worse every day. Is anybody outside with similiar experencience
On random movements or just when putting pressure on it while typing, my 13 MBA makes light cracking noises which I'm sure are coming from the tiny bolts that run all along the sides of the bottom.
I know some have reported to make creaking noises, but mine isn't at that stage... yet.
About a week ago after importing a CD into itunes I tried to eject the disc, however after making a variety of noises nothing happens. It then asks me if i would like to import the CD again, meaning there isnt a problem with the drive, just the mechanism. I don't have applcare? How much did it cost to repair? and most importantly, did they have to replace the whole drive?
My friend's Macbook Pro (2006, 1.83ghz, upgraded to 2gb ram) has been making ridiculously loud fan noises. We found it was coming from the right fan, sounds like something is scraping - almost a tractor engine-type sound. I have a newer Macbook Pro and I installed fan control 1.2 on both of our macs to compare. It turns out on hers, the LEFT fan is running at 0rpm and the RIGHT fan (the noisy one) is running at fairly average speeds (compared to mine, which is quiet - between 1500 and 3500rpm). The temperature seems to be on par with mine (about 115-140 degrees F). We did a PMU reset, which didn't change anything. Do I need to replace BOTH fans? I have researched it, and it seems like I could replace them if I had to.
I bought a 13" Macbook Air yesterday. I had a 2009 MBP before and have been waiting on the refresh to get this. The machine is great. Quick, responsive, light, But one thing Ive noticed is that when handling the machine it makes creaking noises.Sounds like the body is flexing. I took it into the genius bar and the guy took it in the back, said he heard it and then said that it is normal even for the previous gen because of the thin body design.

SOOO, my question is , does anyone elses 2010 MBA do this as well? I tried the display in the store but it is too loud in there to hear it.
I have a 1.86ghz 128GB SSD Rev B Macbook Air. The first one I had made a high pitch whining noise when the processor was idling or under light load. It was a very very high frequency noise, and you could only really hear it when the room was totally quiet - or unless you put your head near the top left side of the keyboard (where the CPU is located). A bit of googling and it seemed that older Macbook Pros also seemed to have had this exact problem.
I took it to the Apple Store and a Genius there took it back and said he could hear it as well. He offered to go through the repair process but since that would have taken awhile, I got an exchange instead from where I bought it from. Unfortunately, this new MBA also makes the same noise but to a slightly lesser degree (though it's possible that the frequency range isn't as high so it's not as piercing... hard to tell though).
Since this is my second RevB Macbook Air with the problem. I realize most people have lower noise sensitivity than me, so you might not notice it unless you place your ear to the top left of the keyboard. (And just to be clear, this is not a fan noise or a noise from the SSD - which don't make noises anyways. I am 100% sure this high pitched noise is coming from the CPU or somewhere on the logic board.)
So I was watching friends and on my macbook and whenever I'd move my macbook even a little the superdrive would make noises as if the disc was being scratched inside. All the other discs that I tried didnt do any such thing. Possible reasons? Can I damage the internal laser this way?
i5 15" mbp. Underneath my computer, theres the large plate where the battery is located under. When i push the plate slighty around the key y (just under) it says this click sound.. When I turn the computer quickly, or place it on table real fast, it says another click sound, from the right buttom corner..
My MacBook Pro recently started to make strange noises like an electricity cable was sparkling. Today I closed the screen to move it and started to make a greater sound like an old ventilator when I opened back then it went into sleeping,?
