After installing an upgrade to IWeb my G4 OS X Panther version won't now allow me to change my website (hosted by mac). Troubleshooting directed me to upgrade to Tiger, so I bought Install Tiger discs on ebay and are nervous about loading them and stuffing things up.
I keep receiving this error when uploading a video on my website. At first I was trying to upload AVI files along aside actual photos on an album page and that didn't work so I deleted all of them. Now I'm trying to upload a .m4v file and still, nothing. I receive this error after a good long while of it trying to upload it. I have plenty of space on my file for the video and all of the other content for my page.
I upgraded my Mac Mini to Lion. When I go to the sound output, I still have two options:Â
* Headphones (Headphone port)
* marantz-AVR (HDMI)Â
When I select the Marantz, it highlights in blue momentarily and then slides back to Headphones. It does not stay on the Marantz. I've restarted both units, unplugged cables, and the same. What do I do now? And, yes, everything worked perfectly just before my Lion upgrade.
I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account
My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.
Here's my situation:I created a site using iWeb '08. Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects.Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.
I've created a site with a theme in iWeb 08 that has been removed from iWeb 09. I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?
Lets say I have a friend / family member and I occasionally allow them to use the delights of Safari and OS X. Now, I don't want replies stating if you don't trust them don't allow them but, is it all possible to have users not clear the history of sites they may have been browsing?
It seems kind of funny to me that none of the hardware was changed. I mean I can understand the iMac maintaining its current look, but the Mac Mini, Mac Pro, Time Capsule, & Airport.
I guess the design guys are so preoccupied with the exact degree of the curve of the next gen. iPhone that they completely forgot about anything else.
I'm hoping to update my RAM to the maximum allowed by my machine and would like to know how to find out what the upper limit on my machine is. I'm currently using a Blackbook and have listed the System Details below.
Code: Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook3,1 Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed:2.2 GHz Number Of Processors:1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed:800 MHz SMC Version (system):1.24f2 Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled
Does anyone know what the upper limit of the machine I have is - or how to find it (is it 4GB or 6GB, not 100% sure. I think its 4GB), the best place to purchase the RAM and most importantly, what to look at when purchasing it. I know so far it's DDR2 667MHz.
I have a Mac powerbook G4 15" powered by PCG4 (1.1). The operating system is OS X 10.3.9. The installed Acrobat reader is the 5.0 version which is outdated. Every time I try to download the appropriate version as stated by Adobe off of their website, it won't allow me to do it. The cursor points at the download, but clicking on it does nothing.
I’m hoping someone can help me troubleshoot some strange behaviour of my Macbook Pro4.1. It’s an early 2008 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo. I’ve had this running perfectly for the past 2 months with an Apple 65W Magsafe Adaptor, although I recently got an 85w version so I’ve started using that for a bit. I recently read somewhere that it’s good to allow the battery run completely flat once a month or so, so I unplugged the adaptor last week and ran it off the battery for the afternoon. When it was almost done (10% charge left) I went for a shower and came back to find the Macbook powered down. I plugged in the Adaptor back in but I couldn’t get it to start. Â
I have to say at this point, that my 85w adaptor sometimes needs a wiggle at the magsafe end to get it to work. Despite this though I couldnât get the green power LED to light or the Macbook to boot up. I then tried my 65W adaptor, which is perfect, and although the LED lights up (first green and then amber) the macbook just doesnt power up with it. I tried the 85w one again the following day after leaving the macbook disconnected and battery removed overnight, and was pleased to find that it finally booted. Amazingly, despite having no power at all for the whole night it came back with all my applications running, safari tabs and the documents open! Anyway, I noticed from the menu bar that the battery was not charging and I couldnt seem to get it to charge. I ran it all day and the system profile showed that the Battery was about half full and had a ˜normal condition with about 187 charge cycles. However I cant run the Macbook off the battery. When the power cuts out from the 85w adaptor the whole macbook shuts down. The battery isn’t doing anything, even after charging all day and being half charged. What’s more neither of my 65w adaptors can start the macbook no matter how many times I try them. Only my 85w one can boot it, but it’s defective so very rarely seems to work. The 65W ones worked perfectly before,so I don’t know what’s changed.Â
I read the Apple guide to resetting the SMC and have now followed the procedure several times, but it hasn’t helped. I cannot boot the Mac any more. Does this Macbook come with an 85w adaptor or 65w? I’m confused because the 65w ones always worked until now. Also, the battery itself is only 60w. I’m going to purchase another 85w Adaptor, in the meantime any advice would be very welcome.
I'm currently on Snow Leopard but I'm running Mavericks on an external hard disk as a test. Most things seem to be working OK; but I have some complex automation set up using QuicKeys and Applescripts. I've given QuicKeys permission in System Preferences>Security to control the Mac, and all its shortcuts work OK; but where it hands off to an Applescript the process hangs with an error message saying the script is not allowed to control my Mac.Â
In the Security pane two 'Applets' appear (no further title) and I've allowed these permission; but still the same error and no apparent way of enabling the script.Â
I've set the General tab to allow any application to run, but I can't see any way of proceeding. Is there a way of getting this to work? - I have several vital pieces of automation which work fine on Snow Leopard and I will need them to work on Mavericks when I eventually get a new Mac.

I've downloaded Maverick 10.9.4 to upgrade from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Download is OK, but when asked which drive I wanted to install the upgrade on, and I choose the internal Mac HD, it tells me I can't use that drive for startup, and won't let me continue. Why not? Been doing it for years with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on MackBook Pro 17". What now?
Using a G4 with Mac OS 10.3. Unfortunately the computer hasn't been used in a few years and the software on it is out-of-date. It runs Itunes 5. Itunes radio stations work, but I can't access the music store, podcast directory, or sign in to my account. Is Itunes 5 not allowed to access the music store anymore?
I've been using the TweetDeck app and the stock black icon sorta melts into my "Black Shelf" dock. I found a couple of icons to change it into something different, only one problem. It wont let me!
Originally I was opening the "get info" and copy/pasting the images If that failed, I was using img2icn and that worked out. But this wont let me change anything! Even when I've unlocked it!
I don't think its mac mini-specific but that happens to be the machine I'm using: Some files downloaded from the internet won't install, even after I click to allow permission on the warning screen.
My imac has a black screen with cursor after i allowed maverick updates. I tried holding shift key during start up and at first it looked like it was going to work, then it turned black again. What do i do??
I am having a problem getting out of an adware popup screen. It won't allow me to click out of it or open up a new tab on my Safari. I have attached a pic.
I can't allow Twitter access on the newest Adium beta. I click "Allow Adium Access," it opens a browser window with a sign in page, I sign in and I get a PIN. I then go back and say "I've allowed Adium access" and it gives me the error message: "An error occured while trying to gain access. Please try again." I deleted the adiumx plist, Adium 2.0 folder, Adium itself, etc. I'm on an MBP with 10.5.7, but still doesn't work!
I am trying to use the certificate assistant to request an certificate from CA. However I encounter this error. User interaction is not allowed. I tried to sent to email and failed too witht the same error. I have also try to repair via first aid and all are fine. Also tried to unlock my keychain but nope still can't.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up my Time Capsule. So I have two computers at home, a router and a Time Capsule. I mainly use the Time Capsule to back up my computers and transfer stuff between them. I also have roomies which I don't wanna give access to the Time Capsule without my permission, I'd just like to allow them to connect to get some files every now and then and that's it. That's been my problem, my roomies are having trouble with the internet connection because of my Time Capsule.
The iWork Public Beta allowed me to share Keynote presentations with anyone via the web. Now Apple tells me the Public Beta is being replaced by iCloud. How can I share a Keynote presentation online via iCloud? Must the presentation be downloaded to view?
My 13" MacBook Pro will not play media files. Also, on iphoto, images are unable to be exploded. Interestingly, it is no longer running hot (as it has since installation of Lion a few months ago).

Seems to be Firefox related, but I think it simply should not be possible within the Mac OS (10.6.8): I have used Firefox for years, but since I updated to version 13, this is what happens: My son has an account under parental control, and he is allowed to use selected applications one of which is Firefox Now after the update every time he launches Firefox, he gets a message he is not allowed to use it. Even when I enter my name and password to permit Firefox "forever" to launch, the message comes again... And again. If I select "once", Firefox launches.
And no matter what I try, as soon as there was one attempt to launch Firefox on my son's account, the related checkbox in the Parental Controls is unchecked again. So what is going on here? Could this be caused by a corrupted file (maybe containing the list of allowed applications), and how could I repair that?
