View 5 Replies View RelatedMessing around on new MacPro Work Station and discovered the icon in system preferences is missing; now can't adjust mouse and keyboard. Using os 10.5.6. Have fixed this once before on old g4 but am having a mental block {old age? } on how to now? I think you go into usr>preferences>trash the keyboard & mouse prefs and it will return to sys. prefs. I am at work now so can't try it.

The cell phone icon would show up on my screen, and I could transfer pictures from there. Out of the blue, the icon for my phone is no longer showing up on the screen , therefore, I can no longer access pictures and tranfer them to my computer anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe dock and toolbar at the top have disappeared from the screen. They re-appear when I click in the area where they should be but disappear once again whenever I click elsewhere. I have also lost the ability to minimize open windows. I can resize them manually, maximize and exit them I just cannot minimize them! (The orange button has gone grey.)
I have checked that I am not in fullscreen mode and I have unchecked all the automatic hide settings in the system preferences. This is only occuring when I'm using Mozilla Firefox.
I have a feeling that I accidentally clicked a button or unwittingly used a keyboard command to enter this setting, but I can't remember what I pressed!

I forced rebooted my computer after my windows froze and after I turned it back on my mighty mouse didn't connect. So I went on into my Mac OSX and for some reason the icon in the System preference disappeared and I no longer saw the bluetooth icon. I went manually to applications and checked and there was only Bluetooth File Exchange.
Picture included.
Right clicked the desktop icon for the CD that was in the drive, chose eject.
The icon disappeared along with the other new icons the program had created and the CD never came out.

New to Macs and struggling a bit with the high res/ average eye sight combo.
I've managed to get most of my apps text sizes ok for me to see (though FF skews things up a bit), but I find my toolbar icons and text size to be a bit small for me.
Two main apps cause me grief. Mail and Office. I can't seem ti find anywhere where I can increase the size of the toolbar icons. In mail i can use Large icons, but that doesn't affect the toolbar. In Office (mainly Word/Excel) I can't seem to find anything at all.

Can anyone identify this toolbar icon that has suddenly appeared on my Mac? Clicking/Right clicking does nothing and it doesn't seem to be one of my Login Items. If anyone can identify what it is so I can uninstall it?

I purposely deleted the Mail application from my Macbook. Went into Finder and moved the app icon to trash can. I thought this would do the trick, but now it randomly shows up on the toolbar but won't open. How do I get rid of this thing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith the last few versions of Safari, including 5.1.7, the toolbar has not been customizable. When right clikcing or using menu the toolbar window does not appear. Clicking any icon on toolbar removes that element. This suggests the toolbar is in an edit mode. Only a restart will reset toolbar. Running snow leopard. All updates added To OS.

I came back from a holiday and when I turned on my computer, my main HDD icon (same hdd that the system boots from) is no longer on my desktop nor in finder. I have to manually dig for it to be able to go through the files etc. Anyone knows why is that?
Also, the icon looks grayed a bit compared to others.
