Aug 11, 2010I have an account in Mail.app that won't let me do anything to the e-mails coming into it. I can't delete e-mails, I can't mark them as read, and if I try to move an e-mail to another mailbox, it's copied, not moved.I've tried repairing disk permissions, and I've tried to remove the account and then adding it again ? but the problem persists. "Rebuild" in the Mailbox menu is inactive when this mailbox is selected, but works on my other accounts.The same account works fine on my iPhone; mails are getting marked as read and I can delete and move e-mails around. Mar 8, 2012I love the Apple Notes App on my iPhone because it has the ability to sync seamlessly with my MacBook Pro.
I prefer to use the Apple Notes App cause they sync seamlessly for me between devices (I don't want to use another program like Sticky Notes or such.)
I was wondering if it is possible to create a shortcut on my Dock (or desktop or keyboard shortcut to launch?) to these notes directly so I don't have to keep opening up the Apple Mail Client (Which I do not use)?

Jun 12, 2012I checked Universal Access and the Zoom and VoiceOver features have shortcuts written next to themin bold black writing where as the shortcut next to Inverted Colours is greyed out. I have been using it for a year now and this is the first time it has greyed out and not letting me change the colours using the shortcut.I can still change it using the radio buttons in Universal Access but shortcut was much easier. I am using Snow Leapord on a 15.4 inch early 2011 model of Macbook Pro. I dont know if this has any relevance but the last time it worked was just before I updated the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Dec 30, 2009I like to keep my laptop cool, so I usually run on the integrated 9400 graphics chip. But lately I've been finding myself playing a lot of games on my unibody mbp. However, it gets kind of tedious to have to continually switch over to the "better performance" 9600M option in energy saver. Instead of opening energy saver, clicking "better performance" and then restarting, is there a simple applescript or shortcut I can just double click that will do all this for me? I'd like to just place that script on the desktop and call it "play games" or something." I know it's a small inconvenience, but does anyone have a solution? Or can anyone make a simple automator or applescript to handle this?

Feb 25, 2012So I started using my MacBook Pro as a device I connect to my TV. I have an HDMI adapter, and, after setting up the display and sound, it is awesome! I even purchased a Trackpad so I can sit on my couch and navigate. The cost of the adapter and Trackpad are more than paid for with my canceling of cable.
Anyway, my question is about the virtual keyboard in OS X. It doesn't happen often, but I sometimes have to type in a user name or password for sites. I know how to go through "System Preferences", "Universal Access", and then "Keyboard Preferences" to turn it on, but is there a faster way?
What I really want to know is if I can create a shortcut in my dock for the virtual keyboard?
If not, does anyone know of any third party, virtual keyboard applications that would work this way?

Jul 6, 2012I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011 with built in US keyboard.
However I mainly typing using an external fullsize Apple Japanese Keyboard that I perchased from the Japan Apple Store.
One issue I'm having is switching betwen windows in the same program.
On US keyboards, the command is COMMAND + `
However this does not work on the Japanese model, as the ` key is actually on the same key as @, and requires pressing shift, breaking the shortcut.
Does anyone know the Japanese shortcut to change between windows in the same program?

MacBook Pro :: Ghost Mark On Screen
Feb 28, 2010For sometime now i have got this ghost mark on my macbook pro's screen. I did book an appointment at apple and showed someone at the genus bar but at the time he said it was just due to the keyboard pressing against the screen and if i cleaned it well it would go away. In saying this i had to buy this cleaning kit which he said would do the job. At the time in the apple store it did seem to fade but i now feel that was just due to the stores lighting. I still have the mark months later and its still as obvious as it was before. I was wondering if you guys have any advise on how to get rid. I only see it when its dark and there is black on the screen and though it doesnt bother me that much in a few weeks im selling this and would prefer to have the problem fixed. i did do some research and didnt find much, only thing i did find was about replacing the screen and i cannot do that due to time and money and am sure there is a easier way. i have attached a photo trying to show the ghost mark (in the black box) but because i took it on my iphone it doesnt show well.
