MacBook Pro :: OS X 10.7.4 Dropping WiFi Signals
May 16, 2012I'm starting to see Mac OS X 10.7.4 wifi dropping signal. Worked fine under 10.6.8 and 10.7.3 too.

OS X :: 10.6.1 WiFi Dropping Signals On Late 2007 IMac
Sep 15, 2009Ever since I installed to 10.6.1, I have been having issues with WiFi.
I'm only getting 3 bars, and my iMac is sitting less then a foot away from my AEBS, on 10.6 I was getting 4, also I've been dropping my WiFi connection every hour or so, and I have to turn AirPort in on my iMac off and turn AirPort back on.
This is really annoying and I don't know what to do, anyone have any ideas?
I've already reset my AEBS twice and that hasn't worked.
OS X :: Network Keeps Dropping Internet Signals / Happens Randomly In No Sequence
Apr 9, 2009My problem is I keep loosing 'Internet' signal on my network, the network still runs fine and all computers (macbook, imac and macbook pro) are still connected to the network and can still transfer files but there is no internet connection. Im not 100% sure but this seems to happen once more than one computer is on the network at once. It happens randomly and their seems to be no real sequence or pattern as to when it happens.
I was adviced to change the ports on my router from 11 to say 6 or others, this didnt seem to help, and i have since thought as my imac is hard wired with an ethernet cable this wouldn't effect this computer as it is not connected over wireless but this computer IS still affected.
I have tried numerous hard resets and fimrware updates etc but no joy, the router i'm using is a Belkin URL

May 1, 2010So what's the deal with airport and wifi signal in the new macbook pro? It's my first mac and I've been working hard to pay it. Yes, PAY it. And now, my 5-year old toshiba laptop gets a much better wifi signal than the brand new cutting-edge mbp. I'm assuming it's a hardware issue, so it's practically unfixable.

Jun 19, 2012I have a 2011 Mac book Pro with OS x 10.7.1 running on it. Till about a month back it stopped catching wifi signal from my router, and then sometimes it will catch signal from only near the router. I thought that it might only be an issue with my home router. Now in the new city my MBP can't detect any of the wifi networks even in my home or in the office.

Nov 8, 2010I just bought a new mbp and my old 17" MacBook pro 2006 2007 models screen was not really working so I decided to take the screen off and use it as a kitchen computer with an external monitor. The problem is that my airport extreme is in a room right next to the kitchen and the old mbp is not picking up any wifi signals not even the neighbors wifi but, my new mbp can pick up the signals where is the wifi antenna located?

Sep 12, 2014I have a macbook pro 15" retina. I am a photographer and have to upload images at the end of every day. I noticed that the internet speed was flucuating a lot. From like 3 mbps to 30 mbps. I thought it was the internet service at first, but then noticed if I turned off the wifi on my macbook, then turned it back on, I would get a full strong signal. It would then start to slow down again to a crawl. Is it the macbook or maybe a Apple Express Airport update?Â

MacBook Pro :: Won't Connect To Internet - WiFi Status Bar Show Full Strength Signals
Sep 5, 2014I have the 13" Macbook Pro mid 2012 model and for some reason the wifi status bar would show full strength however when I open up Chrome or Safari the webpages won't load at all. I'll get a message saying something like "can't connect to Internet." I first thought it was my modem but all the lights are lit up and it shows I do have an Internet connection. I get the same problem with my ipod touch 4g as well. Only on the ipod's side it will try and connect but fails to do so at all. So I have two devices that fail to connect despite an existing Internet connection.

Jun 2, 2012My Wi-Fi drops out all the time and I have to reset the WiFi to reconnect. When I look in the signal bar is says it is still connected, this will happen about once every 2 to 3 minutes. I have contacted the apple help desk and was told it must be my modem. I have two phones, an ipad, 2 windows laptops and my macbook pro is the only one that has problems with the WiFi. have also taken it to a repair agent and was told it was my modem.

OS X :: WiFi Connection - Slow Browsing With Full Bars Signals
May 26, 2009I'm back at my dad's place for the summer and I'm trying to connect to his house's wireless connection on my MacBook. It seems to connect okay when I type in our 10-digit password next to "WEP 40/128-bit hex" in the drop-down menu, but then even with full signal bars, it loads browser pages very slowly if ever, usually just giving me a timeout error and it's the same thing across all programs, my instant messenger takes forever to connect, WoW takes forever to connect, if ever, basically the internet I get from this connection is useless. It's odd because both my sisters have MacBooks and the internet works fine for them at my dad's house when they connect, and MY internet on my computer works perfectly when I'm using any WiFi but this one. By the way, the transmitter is a "D-Link 514 2.4GHz Wireless Router" and we're connected to cable internet.
Update:
* I have tried resetting the router and that didn't help.
* I have tried changing the channel, authentication method and password and that didn't help.
* I tried a DNS troubleshooting guide and it doesn't appear to be a problem with that.

Jun 2, 2014This is driving me crazy. I have tried so many fixes but nothing has worked. Every time I hibernate / sleep my 2012 macbook air, the wifi drops and takes at least 20 minutes to come back on when I open the laptop again.Â
I can reboot, turn the wifi off and on, change preferences...everything. Nothing works.

Aug 28, 2009Is anyone else having problems with SL dropping your wireless connections. I've never had any problems with Leopard and my home wireless network but SL has dropped my connection numerous times since I did my install. The only way to recover seems to be to reboot my computer.

Jun 25, 2012Since I updated my Macbook pro to 10.7.4 my Wi-Fi connection is dropping out every 10 / 15 minutes, then I disable and enable and back to normal, a thousand times each day since last Saturday, it is boring!
I called Apple Support today, and we spent all morning trying to correct with some procedures, but nothing worked.

Apr 11, 2009I work for a business that sells a lot of computers, Macs specifically. We've got a wi-fi network in our building; however, the network constantly drops out. Despite our pleas to IT, they will not fix the issue. Our demo computers that customers can play with and consider purchasing often lose Internet access because of this. Whenever this happens, I have to manually turn the Airport off and then back on again, which will get it to reconnect. Does anybody know of a way to have the computer automatically do this every so often?

May 8, 2012My Lion OS 10.7.3 iMac just does not seem to be able to hold a stable connection with my home wifi network. After around ten minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less, usually when I've gotten up to do something else, the wifi is lost. It stays "connected" to the network (ie the wifi bars are black) but no internet comes through. Every time this happens, I turn WiFi off and reconnect and it fixes it every time, but it is still extremely inconvenient and troublesome to have to redo this constantly.

Aug 27, 2014I've noticed recently my wifi seems to drop every 5-10 minutes.Â
I don't see any signs, no exclamation marks etc. I just find web pages take a long time to load, I go into the Network Preferences > Assist Me > Diagnostics and via that I see a yellow mark next to various areas (it changes but it's usually 2 or 3 of either the ISP, Wifi or Server). If I hit continue and go through the process on in the diagnostics section it re connects to my wifi and works again for the 10 minutes or so.Â
I don't find this happening on my other devices. Is there any way I can find out why it's dropping so often?Â

Nov 30, 2014I've been dropping my wifi since the update. It drops all the time regardless of what I am doing. I have to shut off and then turn on wifi again to show listed. The router works fine with other devices (iPad, iPhone etc) plus my PC.

Dec 2, 2014Out of nowhere--i.e. independent of any changes to my system, settings, equipment, etc.--the audio from my iTunes feed to my WiFi network is dropping out every so often. No pattern to it, just once every couple of minutes or so the sound just disappears for a second or three. My iTunes/media is proprietarily serviced--independent of my data WiFi--by an older Airport XPress which is hooked up to my stereo. I've restarted everything in the setup but it keeps happening. The data WiFI is independently serviced by an Airport Xtreme.Â

It seems to happen randomly...sometimes it's there, sometimes not and I must go to Networking icon and all the steps to reconnect!. Jul 31, 2010My Linksys WRT610N with the latest firmware worked fantastically on multiple Windows 7-based ThinkPad. However, three (3) different iMac's have had the very same problem of dropping the connection and of my having to powercycle both my cable modem and the W610 router for it to work again at all! Once it drops the active connection, that's it. I have tried a few different settings and nothing has made a difference.
Can you maybe help point me in the right direction or should I just ditch it for an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule? One additional point: It works worst in the 5GHz frequency band, even though there are none in my neighborhood, and if there are, they have their SSID's (network name) hidden. The 2.4GHz band is extremely crowded where I am which makes it difficult to enjoy my WiFi connection.
