MacBook Pro :: Nikon N-60 DSLR Not Recognized By 10.6.8?

May 29, 2012

Right after USB connection between Nikon N-60 and PowerBook Pro small error message window with "no camera connected" appears. This is a relatively new development as I've been tethering the N-60 to this powerbook for a couple of years without a problem. Camera is still recognized by remote camera control software (Sofortbild) but somewhat unstable now with frequent crashes.

Intel Mac :: SD Card Sandisk 4Gb From Nikon D90 Is Not Recognized?

Jun 22, 2012

I have bought Lion from Applestore a few days ago. The installation ran fine, but, as a first approach, I was really disappointed when inserting in the side slot of my iMac an SD card Sandisk 4Gb from my Nikon D90: it was not detected, not shown in the desktop, nor in Disk Utility, no way to be shown in iPhoto or Nikon View NX2. By the way Nikon View had a very strange behaviour: clicking on a thumbnail it opened a new window showing again thumbnails which, when clicked, opened new window..Switched bac to Snow Leopard every thing ran fine again. Must I say not very encouraged to try Lion once again

OS X :: How To Load Photos From DSLR To MAC Avoiding IPhoto

Apr 28, 2009

I've new to MAC (1 month or so). I bought a 24" iMac. Coming from PC, which has been great for me for a long time, I decided to try out MAC. I'm a hobby photographer with a DSLR camera. I want to load my photos (RAW + jpgs) to my computer hard drive. Automatically, iPhoto pops up and it's like I can't do anything with photos without having to go through iPhoto. I want to avoid iPhoto all together and create my own folder structure system on the hard drive, but my camera doesn't show up in 'Devices' in Finder. How do other photographers load their photos? I find it hard to image they have to go through iPhoto every single time. I have the camera hooked to the computer via USB. Is there something else I should be doing?

Another question about iPhoto.. . Can you organize your photos in folders within folders? Or can you just have one level of organization? It seems like your photo library would eventually just turn into a humungous sea of albums. Any advice on how to be better organized with iPhoto.

MacBook Pro :: SD Card From Nikon Camera Read Only?

Jun 29, 2012

I have a 32 GB SDHC Card (Class 10) in my Nikon Coolpix S9100. I formatted it in the camera, and now it's read-only on my Mac, and I can't format it so that it is writable. In fact, I have to reboot to my Bootcamp partition (Windows 7) to format it. It works with my Mac then, but as soon as the camera writes to it again, it becomes read-only.

MacBook Air :: It Won't Recognize Class 10 SD Card From Card Reader Or From Nikon D5100

I simply can't take any of my pictures off of my SD card. I've tried using the USB cable that came with the camera itself, as well as a USB card reader. iPhoto, and the laptop itself does not recognize the card, or that there is any device mounted at all. I've also tried checking "External Disks" in Finder Preferences, didn't seem to work.

MacBook :: Internet Not Recognized?

I just got my first Mac today. It's the 2.4 Ghz aluminum MacBook. I was really excited about starting things up, and then came setting up the internet. It recognized my family's DSL wireless network, but would not let me into it without a password. We never gave our router a password/encryption. Does anybody have any idea about what I should do? I'd really like to access the internet as soon as possible.

MacBook :: PNY USB Drive Not Recognized?

Jun 18, 2012

I tried doing a few Google searches to find a resolution to this problem, but nothing that came up seemed to work, so I'm throwing this question out there. I recently bought a 16GB PNY metal attache for my  2011 MacBook Pro (OS X). That computer fails to recognize the drive. Here are a few notes:

1. I tested the drive on a windows vista computer, and that computer recognizes the drive. I can read/write from it on that computer.

2. Neither USB port on my apple is faulty; other USB devices function fine via both ports.

3. I have tried several solutions including:

a) Restarting

b) Powering off, unplugging the power cord, waiting 15 seconds, replugging the cord, and booting up the computer

c) Restarting WITH the drive in the port

d) Leaving the drive in for a while to see if it would eventually recognize it (no results)

e) Reformatting the drive to FAT32 to make sure it's possible for my mac to read/write from it

MacBook :: Newly Installed HDD Not Recognized

Aug 5, 2009

I have the 13" MacBook Unibody with the 250 GB HDD. I wanted to replace that with my Seagate Freeagent Go 500 GB external HDD. I took off the enclosure and replaced the 250 gb with the 500 gb but the computer won't recognize the new 500gb HDD. All I get is a blinking question mark during start up which I know stands for HDD issues. The 500 gb HDD is working fine btw, I tested it after I took it out of the enclosure. It is a Serial ATA 2,5" and works just fine. Is the Macbook 13" Unibody not supporting 500 gb HDDs maybe? I checked the specs for the MacBook Pro 13" which is supposed to be the same as the one I have and it does say that it supports 500gb HDD.

I searched about it on the net, they said that when they got that same pop up, they click "x" at the top left corner, you now, exits the pop up and got to use the mouse immediately. I tried it at my dad's laptop, got the same pop up but instead of clicking continue, I clicked "X" The mouse Works. So now I think this mouse is recognized as a keyboard on mine.
