An HDMI adapter that splits into USB and MDP so you can get sound into your TV. No word on pricing but I'm extremely excited for this!

Just received my new minidisplay port to HDMI to connect my macbook pro 2010 to my LCD. I did connect and got perfect image but I can get how to transfer the sound from the mac to the lcd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since the latest generation of MacBook/ Macbook Pro you can now send audio over the MiniDisplay Port output. The tech specs on Apples web site say no word about it. Any early adopters out that that can prove me wrong? 2 Cables (power, MiniDisplay Port to HDMI) is much better than 3 (power, headphone jack, DVI to HDMI in current Old MacBook Pro Setup). With the nice Graphics card the MacBook Air works great as a portable Media player, I just hope it has this feature.

1- HDMI cable
2- Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Female Adapter.
3- this sit that include Audio Cable
[URL] I did connect everything my macbook pro very well to the TV using HDMI cable from the laptop to HDMI/DVI port in the TV. Also I connected the Audio cable from my Headphone port in my laptop to PC/DVI Audio IN in the TV. Yes I got the pic and everything is good but no sound at all. I tried everything and i searched the net but no luck or answer at all.
Tell me if it makes sense. Since the current MiniDisplay Port adapters are NOT bidirectional and we need a bidirectional cable to make the PS3 display on the iMac, I was wondering if I purchased that new bidirectional cable by Belkin that it is advertised to let you use your iMac's screen with your MacBook Pro and then buy a female minidisplay port to female HDMI.
Would that work? It makes sense right?
Where can I find a FEMALE MiniDisplay Port to FEMALE HDMI adapter? I have searched and can't seem to find one.
I have the MDP to HDMI and i want to get the audio from my macbook to come out of my Samsung 32" HDTV ive tried 3.5mm M/M didnt work and optical cable didnt work either am i doing something wrong? How would i get audio to output from my TV?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know there are a couple of topics around here about this, but none of them are very clear.
So, I'm looking for a mini displayport to HDMI adapter that supports sound. No extra USB or 3,5mm jack for sound.
It also would be nice if the product was available in Europe (Netherlands) otherwise the shipping cost are just too high.
today i bought the mini display port to HDMI Adapter at the Apple store. The video display is fine but there is no audio. I checked my preferences and there is no option for the TV's speakers. My macbook is from 2009 if this would make a difference.

I have a new Macbook Pro, and currently have it connected to a 22" Insignia 1080p TV. The setup is a minidisplay to DVI adapter, and a DVI to HDMI cable plugged into the adapter and the TV. My trouble is that the TV is displaying a "No Signal" message now, after working perfectly fine this afternoon. Any hints or suggestions? I've tried rebooting, plugging in the cable before and after starting up the computer, and all HDMI ports on the TV. Again, I had the exact same setup this afternoon, and it worked beautifully, but now it refuses to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been searching high and low and cannot find a MDP-to-HDMI cable (not adapter) that supports audio out for use with my MBP. Does such a cable exist, or do I absolutely need to use an adapter? Looking for the cleanest solution possible. Looks like I found a cable on eBay. They do exist from individual cable-makers, but it looks like they don't exist from cable manf's like Monoprice and Blue Jeans Cable.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the latest model of the MacBook Air 13" (mid-2011 model). As recommended by the Apple Store rep, I bought the minidisplay to DVI adpater to connect my 20" Viewsonic VG2030wm. Unfortunately, the MacBook Air 13" is not recognising the monitor. It doesn't detect it at all.
I know the monitor and the DVI cable work because it works with my original MacBook Air (2008 model) that uses a micro-DVI to DVI adapter. My last resort is to take the new MacBook Air, the Viewsonic monitor, cables and adpaters to my local Apple Store to see if they can figure out it out. However, I won't be able to go until two days later when I have access to a car.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow many of you would like to see a HDMI Port? Why the miniDisplay port? Why not remove ethernet jack and miniDisplay port and replace it with a HDMI port. That way one HDMI cable feeds digital video AND audio. Am I the only one thinking of this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I bought a cable that was supposed to go from the dv port on my MacBook to HDMI, but when I got it home I found it to be a mini dv plug, smaller than the port on my '08 MacBook. Nobody seems to stock cables that fit this larger dv port; I tried Maplin, PC World, Curry's, no luck. An adaptor to VGA, or straight to HDMI, either is fine.

I have a new MacBook Pro 17" computer. I want to play a DVD through the computer to a Toshiba 26" flat screen TV, using a mini port to HDMI.
At first nothing happened, then after much fiddling I got the Apple Spiral Galaxy image on the TV and my usual desktop on the computer. I then discovered that I can move the cursor from my desktop across to the right, where it disappears from my computer screen and appears on the left side of the spiral galaxy on the TV. So it's like I have two side-by-side screens, the Apple galaxy on the left, my computer on the right. In addition, I keep my dock on the right side and it's barely visible on the right side of the galaxy screen.
Incidentally if I play the DVD I can drag and drop it to the right so it slides off of my computer and onto the galaxy. But I know that's not the real solution.

I am looking for recommendations on a good Mini Display Port HDMI Adapter for my Macbook Pro 2011 Sandy Bridge. I have gone through about 4 adapters in the past year due to the adapters become unresponsive after 2 or 3 months.
