I'm running a Macbook Pro 4 (Year '09-'10) w/ a Intel Core 2 Duo, Speed 2.4 GHz. I've a Samsung 720 HD TV and am wondering if there is a way to play video directly from my Macbook Pro to my TV's HDMI port? Is there a USB to HDMI?

[URL] I did connect everything my macbook pro very well to the TV using HDMI cable from the laptop to HDMI/DVI port in the TV. Also I connected the Audio cable from my Headphone port in my laptop to PC/DVI Audio IN in the TV. Yes I got the pic and everything is good but no sound at all. I tried everything and i searched the net but no luck or answer at all.
i just bought a DVI to HDMI cable, to plug my macbook pro to my big samsung tv. I successfully connected them to eachother, but there was only 1 problem which ruins the whole experience. There are weird fuzzy colours all around the screen and is almost impossible to see anything.

this is a brand new cable so i don't think it would be the problem, im only afraid maybe my DVI input would be broken.
Is it possible to connect my 360 to the mac via hdmi display port? I have hdmi to display port already and I have a new macbook pro so it does support audio, Basically I want to play with the screen,. Does mac support input through the display port?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new MacBook Pro 17" computer. I want to play a DVD through the computer to a Toshiba 26" flat screen TV, using a mini port to HDMI.
At first nothing happened, then after much fiddling I got the Apple Spiral Galaxy image on the TV and my usual desktop on the computer. I then discovered that I can move the cursor from my desktop across to the right, where it disappears from my computer screen and appears on the left side of the spiral galaxy on the TV. So it's like I have two side-by-side screens, the Apple galaxy on the left, my computer on the right. In addition, I keep my dock on the right side and it's barely visible on the right side of the galaxy screen.
Incidentally if I play the DVD I can drag and drop it to the right so it slides off of my computer and onto the galaxy. But I know that's not the real solution.

I have the new iMac 21.5 Inch with a Thunder Port connector that looks like a mini display port. I have the adapter from Apple that includes the mini display port and converts that to a HDMI Cable to my Samsung Synch Master P2530. The monitor cannot be recognized my the iMac. This monitor worked with my older iMac and it's large display port which adapted to HDMI.

I have a june 2.8 MBP running snow leopard and I am having problems with Mini DP to HDMI. I have a convertor to go direct to hdmi from mini dp but when I use it to watch movies the color is really dark. It is almost unwatchable.
It is not a hardware thing because when I boot into windows 7 I can watch the same file with the same hardware with no issue with darkness.
I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue in snow leopard. I have searched mroogle as well as good and could not find anything.
if i buy the mini display port to dvi adapter, could i use it with a dvi to hdmi cable for my monitor. This is because the dvi and vga ports are already taken up.

I have a MacBook Air that i hdmi-connected to Samsung tv but the image on the tv is not sized correctly, meaning the image frame on the screen is smaller that the full sized tv screen. It's not evenly shrunk around the screen. It's about 2 inches on the left and 3 inches on the right, and 1 inch from top and bottom.

I thought it would be pretty straight forward connecting my mbp to my lcd samsung. I'm using a belkin hdmi to dvi, and after I connect and select the input on the tv, all I see is the original os x background on the tv. Ao at least I am seeing something and the cable seems to be working, but that's all I see. I can't get anything else to display. When I watch instruction videos people just seem to get the whole desktop with dash and everything to display right after connecting.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect my macbook to my Samsung LCD TV. The TV is Samsungs 3 series, and has 2 HDMI, audio, optical, RCA and PC input. I hooked up the video via the display port-HDMI and used the HDMI 1 port on my TV. It looks great. I tried my 3.5 audio cable to plug into the audio input on the TV. No luck. The audio input seems to correspond to that PC input so I'm guessing that I have to use the PC input in order to get the audio to work as well. Is this accurate? If so does anyone recommend an audio connection type that would work? Maybe I'll just run to Best Buy to get a 3.5 audio cable to RCA.

I cannot seem to get it to find the computer though, doesnt say anything about not being able to connect to a mac so is it not possible?? I have a 2.4 GHz Aluminum MacBook which I'm trying to connect to a Samsung T220HD LCD monitor/TV.
I'm using the Mini Display to VGA adaptor.
I know the adaptor works b/c I can connect it to another external monitor at my work.
When I connect the MB to the monitor, the MB sees it b/c "Syncmaster" shows up after I detect displays. However, nothing shows on the T220HD screen. Sometimes, the LCD simply says, "There is no device connected."

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I bought a cable that was supposed to go from the dv port on my MacBook to HDMI, but when I got it home I found it to be a mini dv plug, smaller than the port on my '08 MacBook. Nobody seems to stock cables that fit this larger dv port; I tried Maplin, PC World, Curry's, no luck. An adaptor to VGA, or straight to HDMI, either is fine.

I just purchased a 20" Samsung SyncMater P2050 LCD monitor to hook up to my Macbook. I also bought the mini-DVI to VGA adapter, the cabling is right. After powering on the Samsung and booting my MacBook the Samsung is recognized and the snow leopard desktop comes up on the Samsung. I am able to get to the monitor set up in the preferences window, and move the external monitor to where I want it. After a short time the Samsung screen starts pulsating, first at the out side edges of the display, it progressively gets worse, ad then the screen goes black. This happens every time after I shut down the Samsung, and then power it back on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since the latest generation of MacBook/ Macbook Pro you can now send audio over the MiniDisplay Port output. The tech specs on Apples web site say no word about it. Any early adopters out that that can prove me wrong? 2 Cables (power, MiniDisplay Port to HDMI) is much better than 3 (power, headphone jack, DVI to HDMI in current Old MacBook Pro Setup). With the nice Graphics card the MacBook Air works great as a portable Media player, I just hope it has this feature.
