My keys keep sticking on my macbook pro. Inevitably the mouse ends up not working with time either and I have to restart my computer.

I don't normally have my sound on, but I have of late. It seems that my keys may be sticking, or trackpad, or mouse .. Â
Symptoms: I can hear constant beeping, like you are clicking on a link that is not working, you get that Ding/beep. It is constant, like your continuing hitting the enter button on a link that is not working.Â
I reboot and the sound stops. I don't think it is the mouse - and I do not always have it turned on. Sometimes also when I log in, when you type password, there are characters already entered, and it keeps going ... I have to hard reboot.Â
As far as I know I have not dropped this laptop, nothing has been dropped on it. I can not see if any of the keys are pushed in, and the trackpad looks normal.Â

I just recently got a white Macbook 2007 and after I installed snow leopard on it I realised that the I,K and LEFT,RIGHT,UP,DOWN keys were not working and so I installed leopard on it and still had the same problem I booted into safe mode on both but still no luck and this morning the Z key stop working I turned of mouses keys and that still did not work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 17" MacBook Pro (early 2007). I was having a problem with the touch pad button not responding. Tired using a USB mouse - still had a problem. Lost all control of mouse.
SOLUTION: Battery had swollen slightly causing pressure on area below touch pad. Got a new battery (under extended warranty) at no cost; problem solved! It took the "Mac Genius" at the Apple store about 2 minutes to diagnose the problem.
I know that the general consensus here is that the Mighty Mouse is a piece of shit. That notwithstanding, I'd appreciate posters refraining from engaging in further elaborations on that concept when replying to this topic (i.e., no comments like "Buy a new mouse," please).
At any rate, I purchased a wireless Mighty Mouse about a month ago and was very happy with it until the batteries apparently died. One day the pointer simply stopped responding and the green light on the bottom of the mouse was flashing. I replaced the batteries and the mouse resumed normal operation. Then, a few days later it happened again. I have yet to re-replace the batteries and have reverted to using my now eight-year-old Logitech dual-optical mouse (possibly the finest peripheral I have ever owned). Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Is this mouse having internal hardware or software issues or is it normal for it to devour batteries at this rate? System Preferences says that Bluetooth is maintaining the connection properly, so I am ruling that out as an issue. I would just say to hell with it, and use my Logitech mouse full-time, but my wife hates it and I payed seventy goddamn dollars for the Apple product.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a new 15" mbp that tonight I drove out with to the apple store. It was unable to mount external devices (iPods, external hd's, etc). The Genius ended up doing an archive install, saying that the mounting disks were running full throttle (making it EXTREMELY hot) but not succeeding; something in the OS had gotten stuck. So I left after he did an archive and install and tested my drive and iPod. Everything was working....I thought. Long drive back home. Open up my computer, try to adjust screen brightness...nothing. Try to adjust volume. Nothing. None of the function keys work. The eject button works, and strangely enough, the F12 button which should raise the volume also tries to eject. The pause button brings up the spaces window (showing all four spaces).
Very frustrated, could use some advice. Do I need to do an erase and install? These keys worked fine before the archive/install.
my mouse has stopped working. How do I turn on mouse keys through my keyboard?

Moisture built up inside closed laptop. Screen came up when opened. Keyboard unresponsive... And computer is "searching" for keyboard or bluetooth device. After 5 or so minutes screen went blank. Don't know if it's in sleep mode or just out.

I starting having problems with my MacBook this morning. After being asleep I started using it again and I wasn't getting a responce from mouse or trackpad clicks. The cursor will still move but I can't select anything. Â I did a hard restart once and it went back to normal. After it happened again I did another hard restart and it wouldn't boot up again. I did two hard shut downs/restarts and it finally booted up again. Although it's still not responding.

My macbook is frozen. Keyboard and mouse not responding. No spinning beachball. Just frozen. Pressing the power button and combinations of cmd+cntrl+esc and cmd+opt+pwr yield no results.

I have a problem with my macbook. I was writing on neoffice and suddenly, maybe after a manipulation, my keyboard did not answer anymore. And the mouse is blocked. Each time a click, a window appears as if I clicked with the button shift. I restarted my computer without success.
I also went to System Preference - Keyboard and Mouse.
My mouse pad is unresponsive or extremely slow in responding. Very herky jerky. Same problem with the key board.

I was just watching some of the Mac Basics tutorials on the Apple website, and saw a movie about "Wireless Basics". In the middle they mention Bluetooth, and its compatible devices like the Mighty Mouse. But I can't see a scroll ball on the mouse shown... Is this maybe a new (future) Mighty Mouse with touch scrolling or something? I would really welcome a new Mighty Mouse, because the scroll ball of today's version is a real shame

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought the Mini last week to serve as an HTPC. No keyboard or mouse was going to be needed. I downloaded the AirMouse Pro and Touch Mouse to my iTouch. However, I cannot get them to connect to the Mini when the computer is asleep, and have to attach a regular mouse to wake the computer before being able to use the apps. Do any of y'all have a fix for this?

How hard is it to put an electronic touch sensor on the mouse for scrolling so we don't end up with a gummed-up, useless scroll wheel after a year of use?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Mac Intel Base running OS 10.6.8. Finder seems to be corrupt. I have checked the system and it seems to be working properly. However, my Mouse and keyboard stop responding when I relaunch finder, and I have a very slow start up time (10 to 15 minutes till the mouse and keyboard respond). I ran Disk Warrior and got a lot of permission and file errors. Disk Warrior says they are fixed, but every time I run Disk Warrior or Disk Utility the same errors keep showing up. Trying to go to safe mode to check to see if extensions are an issue doesn't work because mouse and keyboard do not respond so I can't log in.
