I just set up icloud on my mac and now my mail won't recognize my password. Formerly, on mobileme i had the main computer which was pre-intel so now I'm switching to my intel mac. Everything is fine on cloud, all the data is there, but on my computers (intel computer and also pre-intel) when I try to check my mail it keeps saying that it doesn't recognize the password. I get mail fine on my iphone, and when I log into icloud but not on my computers (pre-intel or intel).
I followed the steps outlined in [URL]to move my Snow Leopard's MobileMe mail account to an iCloud account in the Mail app (deleted the old MobileMe account from the sidebar and followed the steps to create a new one for [URL]. Before doing that, I had gone online and changed my very old AppleID's password so that it conformed to the new requirements. I also set up the MobileMe in System Preferences to be using that new password. It seems to be happy with the new setup/password. Â
I can get my iCloud mail on my iPad and on my MBAir when I use Safari. But the Mail app continues to loop, asking me to enter my password -- and then informing me that "The MobileMe IMAP server "imap.mail.me.com" rejected the password for user [URL]I compared my Mail settings for the new iCloud account to what's given in the instructions and cannot spot anything amiss.Â

I have an rev. A iMac G5 that was purchased in January of 2005. The applecare has long expired. However, in May of 2008 due to factory defect Apple replaced the logic board, power supply and super drive [URL]. In December 2008 after experiencing problems with my hard drive I took my computer to the apple store. There they said it was dying and it would be cheaper to replace it myself. After purchasing a seagate hdd [URL] my computer won't recognize it. It stays at the black screen while the power light glows. After a few minutes the fans kick in at full force. I tested the hdd in another iMac G5 rev. B and it works fine. Any ideas on what the problem is or how to resolve it?
I have just bought iMac and on installation did a transfer of settings from my Macbook Air. Now my iMac does not recognize my password or master password
I want to hand over an old iBook G3 900MHz running MAC OSX 10.2.8 to my brother. I have a Powerbook G4, which I love. I've installed an Airport card as he was hoping to use it wirelessly however, it will not accept my routers password although I know it's right. Its a Netgear provided through SKY. Does the operating system need updating?
my GF and a glass of Wine. Cat hits wine and wine hits MBP. The Mac shut off instantly, we acted pretty quick and mopped up and turned upside down. I then took back off and over the course of the next 5 days I have stripped it down completely including the Key board and cleaned as best as I could. I've put it all back together and it starts up, a reassuring tone rings out, then apple sign appears with a loading bar beneath, this takes a while then it reaches the Lion log in page.It still recognizes me, or rather my name as the user but refuses my password which I know is correct. The keyboard isn't backlit but keys are typing something (can't see characters, just dots). Screen brightness works. No back light on keys although this may be normal at this point, not sure.Â
I just moved over to Lion and was using the latest version of Mail (5.2) to compose a message. When I first used the photobrowser, it took a while to find my iPhoto collection and showed the message "no media was found". OK this may seem very petty, but this is dreadful English, 'Media' being a plural. Surely Apple would want to know about this and to fix this ("no media found" being the best alternative in my opinion).

MacBook Pro, i am trying to send an email from Iphoto and am getting this error message, how i update the password please? The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination.
We're using Mac OS X 10.4.2 and Mail 2.0.3. Remote images are not displaying in received eMails. We need them to appear as some are links to web sites and we don't know which "?" to click on! We have ticked / checked the box called: "Display Remote Images in HTML messages" but note it says underneath: "Remote images require additional network access to display". We wonder whether we may have disabled the 'additional network access' somewhere. Do you have any idea why the images are not displaying? (They used to display OK but have recently stopped doing so.)
I have a problem with an external hard drive WD Elements, fails to recognize the password I entered. you have a tip on how to retrieve it? even if it leads to the formatting of HD ...
Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.
I tried logging into app store and it works fine, but doesnt work for icloud.I tried it on my iphone and same problem. It's like my apple id doesnt exist...
I own an Imac with Leopard 10.5 (NOT Snow Leopard)... Â
Yesterday - I re-installed the 2 disks to try to clean up a bit the system.. (I've own the computer for 3 or 4 years, and I think it kinda needed it...)Â
It installed (took 2 hours) and all seemed well until - I went to log in.. I put in my pw (same pw since I bought the Imac) and it wont recognize it?
It wont recognize the master pw either.. What can I do - I live very far (200km) from an Apple store...  Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.5)
If I want to sign in to this message board, I can do so. I can also sign in on my iPad to download updates, purchase new apps and songs, etc. And I can sync my iPad to iTunes on my iMac. But when I open iTunes on my iMac, it asks for my password and I can't sign in. What is causing this problem with iTunes on my iMac repeatedly asking for my password when I open iTunes?Â
This is very frustrating. I am also worried that I won't be able to sync when my new iPad arrives March 16.
I can't e-mail a picture from iphoto because a message comes on the screen and says it does not recognize my user name and password. How do you correct this?
iBook is 800mhz, 512m with a 20g hd. The iBook boots to the login screen but won't accept the password. I have even tried older passwords just in case. I tried holding down the c while booting from the cd; sounds like the cdrom spins but again it boots to the login screen. I tried holding the Apple & S key to get to single user but it goes to the login screen. I tried holding the option key which brings up the start-up drives, but can't change to the fire wire drive because the password is unaccepted.
mobileme doesnt recognize my password in iphoto in my macbook pro, why does this happen? that is the same password for my iphone when i use it for the app store. i know the password is correct, it works everywhere else but in iphoto
I accidentally changed my password this morning when I thought I was doing something else. iCal doesn't recognize either my old password (which I would like to get back) nor my new one (which I'll keep if I have to) and so won't syn with my iPhone.
My password gets me into the iTunes store... but I can't make a purchase. The system askes for my user name & password, I enter it, and it just asks for the same info... over and over again. My signon & password seem to work for every other Apple site/function I've tested... but not for a purchase from iTunes.
For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent. Â
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
I used Super Duper to create a bootable clone on an external firewire drive. When I restart my MBP holding down the option key I can choose the external drive. OSX (104.11) starts to load and then encounters a name and password popup. Entering the administrator name and password of the original drive fails. Only one account on the machine - still using the admin password originally chosen.
