Oct 21, 2009I was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem and has a solution. So I opened Bridge CS4 (Snow Leopard is my OS) and selected a photo. Clicking on View - Full screen Preview on the menu bar doesn't show the picture full screen, and pushing space bar to view a full screen preview doesn't work either. What happens is that when I push space bar to get a full screen preview, the entire menu bar at the top of the screen and the dock disappears. So I'll click the desktop, and they reappear, but once I click Adobe Bridge, they disappear again. So I have to alt-q to quit adobe bridge to see the main application menu bar.

Feb 8, 2012Since I updated to Lion PDF, JPG and TIFF files open up very slowly in PREVIEW. Same with RTF files in TEXTEDIT.  This is very apparent if the files are on a server in the network.Â
White iMac 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 2.5 GB RAM.Â
There are some slower Macs on 10.6 in the network that open up 10x faster !!Â

Safari :: Adobe Reader Hijacks Preview As Default PDF Viewer?
Apr 18, 2012Installing the latest Adobe Reader causes Preview to be overwritten by Reader as the default PDF reader in Safari. There's a setting in Adobe Reader prefs that should aloow one to change the setting, but it is greyed out. You'll need to go to your HD/Library/Internet Plug-in folder and remove the Adobe plug-ins. Quit and restart Safari, then Preview is default again.

MacBook :: Backspace And Return Keys Not Working
May 23, 2009The 'Return' and 'Backspace' keys on my mac have recently stopped working. Nothing was spilled on them and nothing seems to be wrong with them when pressed down. I also removed the keys and checked that there was nothing in the way, but there wasn't. I have rung apple and they said it would need to be taken into a store, but there isn't one near by and it will be a few weeks until i can take it in. In the meantime, is there any way that I could remap the keys in question to another couple of keys. For instance right command and right option?

Mar 8, 2012I'm a recent convert to a MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011 (running Mac OS X 10.7.3) in which I have connected to a HP 2711x monitor via the the Thunderbolt port using a DP to DVI adaptor connected to a DVI cable ultimately plugged into the DVI source on the monitor. In run my configure with both the MacBook's screen and the monitor running, extending my desktop not mirroring.Â
While everything works on "first run", for example connecting the laptop at the beginning of the day, at some point when the MacBook Air sleeps or (potentially) the HP monitor, when either are woken, the monitor no longer senses a DVI source. The MacBook still believes there is a second display. But, the HP monitor goes back to sleep. Turn the power off and back on to the monitor doesn't fix the problem. The only fix is to pull the power cord on the monitor and plug it back in, and it immediately goes back to normal.Â
I've tried shutting off the "Auto-Switch Source" feature on the monitor and have set the default source to DVI. We even tried using a different setup via HDMI, and the same problem occurred.Â

May 10, 2009In Windows XP/Vista, if you are navigating in a folder containing pictures, and you click any picture, it opens up Windows built in preview program. Much like OSX. However, in Windows, you can click "Next/Previous" within that program to quickly flip through those photos. Why do the up & down arrows in OSX not work? I still prefer my iMac to any PC I have owned, but this one little thing bugs me to no end. Is there a setting I can change somewhere to make that work like in Windows?

Dec 14, 2010I have to return m my Macbook to Apple, and they asked me to erase the hard drive. I booted from disk went into disk utilities select the Macintosh HD and did a 7 pass erase. But it says in the stats (appear at the bottom) that there is still 6 folders, 425 MB space used and 2 files. Should it not say 0? I am unsure if I have done this correctly.
