This might be a "silly" question but here it is: I get this message: your startup disk is full. Do I need to delete files? What there is to do ? Where to look? Is it normal, my Macbook is getting really hot?

Power Mac G5 :: Start Up Disk Full - How To Delete Documents
I keep getting a message staying that my start up disk is full and that if I don't do something or the other, I'll damage my computer. I've tried emptying my trash, but that doesn't help. I also have a Lacie external hard drive, which I'd like to use to transfer some old stuff, but I don't know how to do that. Also, how do I delete documents like letters and such? On a PC, I usually just hit the delete key. How is that done on a Mac, and will that help at all? What's the easiest way to resolve this problem?

OS X Tiger :: Start Up Disk Almost Full - Need To Remove Files
I'm recently getting a pop up message that says "the start up disk is almost full, you should remove some files".
1.) Remove files from where, documents?, iphoto? What & Where is the start up disk?
2.) I went to "help topics" and looked up "start up disk", but I'm not sure if I should click on the Mac OS- X and restart. I don't think I want to click on the networking something or other that I have seen there.
3.) I'm just not sure what to do, and I don't want to do something wrong. What to do and why I'm starting to get this message?

MacBook Pro :: How To Have Some PDF Files Or Word Files To Be Opened By Default At Start
My Manycam froze, but there is no 'force quit' option when i right click on it. I tried removing it from the Dock, but it's still frozen and there's no way to shut it down.. unless i restart the computer i guess, but i don't want to re-open several PDF files again. Is there a way to have some PDFs to be opened by default when I start the computer, or have your MacBook remember which PDFs u had opened n which page u were on?

MacBook Pro :: Start Up Disk Full - Sometimes Computer Freezes
I have a 13" MBP with os x 10.6. I just got it a few months ago, and I have very little on the computer. Just like 2000 songs on itunes and a few word documents. Out of nowhere, my computer just stopped working properly. It takes forever to load anything, and sometimes completely freezes. Whenever I have something up and it starts to get really slow, a "start-up disk is full" pop-up shows up saying to force quit the application that I'm on. I do it, and the computer remains extremely slow, sometimes not working at all. My hard drive is not even close to being full, and I've done hardware tests and software tests saying that everything is fine.

I have downloaded a few applications from the internet (Google Chrome, Transmission, Limewire... etc.), but I don't see how a few applications would be the problem. Am I missing something, or do I need to just get it checked out by a professional? Occasionally, I will power it down and turn it back on and it will work nearly fine for a while, then once again start to slow down. I don't have any AntiVirus program for my computer, so could this be something a virus could cause? The computer worked completely fine, I went to print 2 documents, the first one printed fine, then the second wouldn't print at all, and that's when all the problems began.

MacBook Pro :: Kernel Panic On Start Up - Disk Repair Fails
My daughter's MBP (3 months old) is kernel panic'ing right after start up. I have tried starting up in single user mode and running fsk, but the panic seems to affect this as well. Upon running disk utility from the 10.6 installer, the machine fails upon repair. Incorrect number of blocks, is what it says, I believe. Her backup is a few weeks old, and I'm "cp -r" all her user files to another drive via Terminal from the installer disk. The copies appear fine, and the machine has run all night.

I'm in the process of upgrading my version of Disk Warrior (Tiger -> Snow Leopard compatible), but any ideas if this is something that I should simply take into the Apple store for repair, as I typically don't see Kernel Panics in machines that new. BTW, the machine is covered under AppleCare, however, my daughter is quite attached to the machine and would like it not to go away for long.
