OS X :: How To Close A Window/program While In Expose Mode
I was wondering if there was a way to close windows while in expose mode. For example, I hate it when I go to a site and a few pop ups come up and i turn on expose mode and i have to click on each one and make it come up and then press exit and then reopen expose and then click on another pop up and then exit and reopen expose and etc etc... To be more specific its kind of like the new windows 7 feature where you hover your mouse over the icon at the bottom and those little windows come up (kinda like expose) but those little windows have little x's where you can just exit the window without having to click on it and then exit and then go back down to the little icon and etc etc.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Why Clicking Red X Does Not Close Program
I am a first-time Mac user and have a question about quiting/closing programs.

When you click the red button/X in the upper left corner of a program, is there a setting in Lion to make the program actually close/quit instead of having to go to the menu at the top and click Quit?

This was annoying on a windows mobile phone - it is still annoying on the iMac and I could not find any settings in System Preferences to change how clicking on the red button closes a program.

OS X Leopard :: Fetching Freezes Get Info Bar And Won't Close?
when I click "Get Info" on any file that I search for on my Computer, "Fetching" appears under "more info but won't disappear". I then won't be able to close the Get Info Bar. The only way to close the info bar is to click on any open window and then the info for that files appears and "Fetching" Disappears. "Fetching" does not hang when I click "Get Info" on any file on my computer that's in a folder, desktop, or located anywhere else on my computer. This only occurs with files that I search for in Finder.

Intel Mac :: Freezes On Any Program After Startup?
My 5 y.o. aluminum iMac recently went kaput on me. Problems it has:

-Freezes on any program after startup

-Freezes during safe boot mode; grey line won't progress past first 10% or so

-DVD stuck in optical drive and nothing works to get it out, so I can't boot from my install disk

-fsck -fy doesn't complete, and keeps timing out

-Migration Assistant either stalls the receiving computer, or just gives me "network" errors (even though I'm connected to the internet), or other errors.

I can't run terminal, disk utility, or any other kind of programs. How do I rescue my files from my failing iMac??

Every time I try to access my media files in iDVD, the program freezes and I have to force quit to get out of it. I tried following the troubleshooting advice on Apple's support page (actually meant for iDVD '08) which involved deleting certain files containing layout themes and then reinstalling them via the iLife backup disc. No luck, still freezing. Does any one have any Idea how to deal with this?

MacBook Pro :: Lid Close Does Nothing (no Sleep)?
MacBook Pro 13" (10.6.4) lid close does nothing (display stays on, no sleep).

Just recently the laptop was on service (still under warranty), they have replaced the damaged motherboard and disk, and installed Leopard 10.6.4. After that I have used Migration Assistant and transferred everything from my office's iMac. I called the service which now says that the lid is not detected due to migration from iMac. Could this really be so? What should I do now?

Macbook Pro Hinges Still Crushing When Close
After the second display change in genius bar, everytime they change the display it sounds more. First sounds like if you're smashing grains of sand and for a moment, it sounds like a choke with plastic (not a big deal, a tiny sound), and then sand again. The plastic part, just sounds once (everytime I check the sounds). Apple guys says that this is normal... (?) and after some months will not crush anymore.anybody has experienced in his own macbook pro that the shift key gets stuck while you press it for a long time ? (maybe 6, 7 seconds), and to unstuck it, just pressing the shift key again.

MacBook Pro :: Its Not Sleeping On Lid Close?
I'm having a strange problem with my MacBook Pro. I just began using it with a second display (with the lid open, of course), and ever since I started doing that, my laptop will intermittently not sleep when I close the lid (while it's disconnected from the display). What happens is that I close the lid and the Apple logo becomes dark, indicating that the display is off. The white light on the front stays on, however, and then, suddenly the Apple logo on the lid will light up again. After this, one of two things can happen. Most of the time, the screen and the computer both go to sleep after about 30-45 seconds. Sometimes, however, it seems to get stuck with both the display and computer on. This concerns me because I travel a lot, and I worry that the computer will overheat in the bag if I put it in while it hasn't gone to sleep.

MacBook Pro :: Disable Sleep On Lid Close?
I really want to find a way to turn off the auto sleep when I close the lid on my MBP.

I recently switched over to a beautiful MacBook Pro from a Windows based PC laptop. My PC laptop had a setting to turn off hibernation when the lid is closed. This allowed me to move around in my environment without trying to balance the laptop in awkward ways with the lid half open. Plus I just liked being in control of when the computer is changing its power state.

MacBook Pro :: Screen Lock On Lid Close
Figure out a way to lock the screen when I close my macbook lid. I know what you're thinking, doesn't the system go to sleep when the lid is closed? Shouldn't that lock the screen anyways? So I've never really liked the "sleep on lid close" behavior since I actually need apps running even in clamshell mode. To facilitate this, I make use of InsomniaX to prevent the system from going to sleep on lid close. Now that brings me back to my original question - given the new InsomniaX related information, how can I trigger a screen lock when the lid is closed? Is this possible? Alternatively, if I can trigger a script on lid close, that would work as well.
