I need to show a repeating slidewhow via a lcd projector using my MB-A running iPhoto. Is there some way I can a) shut off the screen to save battery life or b) close the lid of the MB-A with the same effect?

what the difference is between the commands 'close window' and 'close all windows'? They seem to me to both have the same effect. In my earlier version of Safari, if I opened a new web page, it just replaced the earlier one, now though the new pages just keep accumulating. T
I have loaded photos to a flashdrive and would like to use my MacBook to present a slideshow, but would like to have control over length of time slides are shown and change slides when I want. Is going on iPhoto the only way, and if so how do I control the slides individually?
I have created a slideshow in iPhoto but I can't figure out how to burn it so that it plays on my DVD player.I have read that I need iDVD but I can't find that...
I'm trying to connect my MacBook to my tv to play a slideshow in iPhoto. I've got just a regular old MacBook and got a mini-DVI to video adapter, as well as a male-male s-video cable to connect the computer to the tv. It gets all connected and on the tv I go to the setting to view it and all I get on the tv screen is the blank desktop, no icons or anything. The only thing that will show up on the tv from the computer is when I go to the display preferences to change the resolution setting. Now, I know the resolution of the computer doesn't totally match that of the tv but past that and the fact that I have them physically connected right now... Why isn't anything from the computer showing up on the tv??
I cannot get iPhoto out of slideshow mode. It's been playing the same two photos over and over again. Pressing escape does nothing and the same with command Q. I can't get to either bar to force quit iPhoto.
I am creating a slideshow in iPhoto 11. I created a folder and placed the photos in ascending order by name.I then reversed the order and saved it in a new folder.I created an album from this folder and the pictures appeared in ascending order.I reversed these and created a slideshow which the pictures again appeared in ascending order and I cannot reverse them. There are 250 photos and changing them manually does not sound fun.
I am trying to export a 10 minute slideshow that i have created on iPhoto.I am trying to put this onto a memory stick as it is being projected onto a wall in a performance i am doing. At the moment it is telling me that there is not enough room on my memory stick, altough there is a lot of free space so does this mean the slideshow has to be compressed? Also i am exporting it onto my desktop and its taking a really long time is this normal?
i have created a slideshow in iphoto and now want to view the show on our Sharp TV. I have an HDMI cable connected from my macbook pro to the tv, adjusted the tv setting, but it is not showing on the tv....just the laptop
I am using my new MBA with the Neet Cables HDMi adapter (Audio and Video). Working great but I would like to know if I can close the macbook instead of just turning the brightness right down while watching a movie?
I close my laptop for short periods of time (going to the bathroom, making food, etc.) and it's kinda odd how Apple doesn't let you do this seemingly basic thing.
I was just browsing on Safari when I went to a website and this mackeeper pop up ad came up. It tells me that to keep my mac safe or whatever, I have to install this mackeeper thing. I knew it was a virus so I was trying to figure out how to close it but there is no option to close it, the only option is to click ok. i've tried command+w and that doesn't work either. I have also tried to force quit safari but when I open up safari again, it re-opens the tab. i got my macbook in january of this year, i really don't want it to get a virus lol.

All of a sudden, my MacBook Pro has stopped going to sleep when I close the lid. Instead, the indicator light on the front stays on steadily. When I then open the lid, I am asked to log in again, but before I can type anything, the window goes completely black. My only choice at this point has been to hold the power button down long enough to shut the laptop off. Then I wait a minute or so before restarting. Is there a setting I need to check to prevent all of this from happening? I have tried restarting in Safe Mode, then restarting normally, but still the laptop will not go to sleep when I close the lid.
Whenever I close the lid, my mac seems to turn off. Once I open it the screen will be a greyish hue (you can still see the windows and desktop) but there is a loading bar with a number of small vertical bars. This happens whenever I close the lid leave it for a while (1 - 2 minutes). What is this and how do I fix it?
After I uploaded the Mac OSX ver.10.7.4,When I wanted to close my macbook,it said i needed to close the Safari, but I don't know why I could not close the Safari,so what can i do?
I'm having a strange problem with my MacBook Pro. I just began using it with a second display (with the lid open, of course), and ever since I started doing that, my laptop will intermittently not sleep when I close the lid (while it's disconnected from the display). What happens is that I close the lid and the Apple logo becomes dark, indicating that the display is off. The white light on the front stays on, however, and then, suddenly the Apple logo on the lid will light up again. After this, one of two things can happen. Most of the time, the screen and the computer both go to sleep after about 30-45 seconds. Sometimes, however, it seems to get stuck with both the display and computer on. This concerns me because I travel a lot, and I worry that the computer will overheat in the bag if I put it in while it hasn't gone to sleep.Â

Normaly it goes to sleep, when I close the Lid, but suddently this function stopped. That means that Mac'en still is running and become warm, during transport.
My iPhoto has been loading iCloud pictures for about a week now and won't let me close it out until it is finished but its stuck on that page. I can't restart my computer because it says it has to finish loading. How do i make the loading stop?
I was trying to import photos on my new Macbook pro when suddenly iPhoto froze and wouldn't continue. I am now unable to close the app or even turn off my computer.
OK. I feel so stupid right now. I'm pretty sure this has been answered 100 times already in here. I connected the cable to my WS external LCD and I can't get it to fill up the whole screen. I normally set my screen to 1080X1050 under Vista. When I set that under my Macbook I only get small screen in the middle of my monitor.
Second question. I press F7 to get the picture to display on my monitor. When I close the macbook I lost the signal. Do I have to wait until the Macbook go into sleep mode before I can close it?
I know you have to download Insomnia to always keep it on, whether you close the lid or not, but I thought that you could close the lid when it's connected to a display (new Toshiba 37" 1080p LCD), it doesn't go to sleep. Where is the setting for this so I can prevent this?
