OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mac Won't Take Accounts Online
Jun 29, 2012Mail on both my iMac and Air will not take any accounts online. Ive tried repairing permissions, creating a new mail account, and creating a new user account but to no avail. I get no error messages, and all the information for all the accounts are correct it just simply displays the triangle exlaimation but clicking on it, clicking "Take accounts online..." and clicking on the "Get Mail" button do absolutely nothing.Im on OS X Lion with all the latest updates.

MacBook Air :: How To Back Up Hard Drive Online
Jun 20, 2014My macbook air keeps glitching. Everytime I start it up, I get a folder with a question mark blinking and i can't get into login in page. After turning on and off about 800 times, I got to my login in page. Ive read i can slip the hard drive out and slip it back in and it will be fine, but I just don't feel good about unscrewing the bottom and exploring my computer. Apparently it has something to do with the hard drive being fried, but obviously it isn't if i can log in one time out of many.
So obviously I want to back it up. (It's 11:24 at night).However, I need an external hard drive. Can't drive anywhere at night and grab one. Can't leave my computer on all night either. Is there an alternative way I can back it up until tomorrow? A way I could back it up online? I have programs on my computer i need back up that I don't have the disc to anymore, so its very important I preserve them.

Sep 25, 2010I get this error message when attempting to use AutoFill for signing into online accounts such as Amazon. I know that AutoFill uses information from Address Book to fill out the form - that's why I have a card in Address Book with my name and email address on it - but I'm still getting this error message when attempting to use AutoFill.

OS X :: Can Time Machine Back Up To Online Data Recovery Site
May 1, 2010I'm interested in the site Carbonite to back up my Mac, but I want to use Time Machine and have complete backups of my system. I'm assuming I can't use Time Machine on that site, so what's important is whether or not I can conduct a complete backup of my system on Carbonite that would allow me to completely recover my system in the event of a failure or a new computer...something like that.
Am I better off just buying an external HDD and using Time Machine?

Intel Mac :: During Gmail Upgrade, Standard User Accounts Changed To Mobileme Accounts?
Jun 28, 2012I am not sure how it happened but after upgrading the gmail account, the user accounts were changed from standard users to Mobile Me users. None of the users has ever had that type of account, and I am trying to figure out how to get it back to a standard user account. When the user attempts to log in, it asks for the user name, but also the Mobile Me user name (which they do not have). to make it worse, Mobile Me is no longer accpting new users, so I annot just add an account and log in using the new info.

May 17, 2009I have recently noticed that all of my accounts have become Standard accounts. I no longer have Administrator privileges for my computer (MacBook). I tried going through Root to change my normal account back to Administrator but according to my accounts preference pane even my Root account is listed as standard. I can check the allow user to be an administrator on this computer but it does not save this preference and will un-check once another user is selected or the window is closed.
I have also tried creating a new account through single user mode but again to no avail.How would I go about fixing this problem? I would like to install some new software and some software is no longer working the way it once did since this change.

On exactly the same server.Is this possible in any way...? May 14, 2010i finally got my High Res Glossy MBP after 4 weeks of waiting...Everything works fine...and NO yellow tint issue...The only problem is 1 small dead pixel towards the bottom right of the screen...Will apple do an exchange on CTO machines with only 1 dead pixel?Is it even worth doing the exchange? After reading these forums i see that a lot of other users have been complaining about all types of problems...Yellow tint, wifi problems, over heating...etcshould I consider myself lucky? And just be happy that its only 1 small pixel?

Or I think I'd heard about a way you can connect your macbook to your iphone, and piggyback the connection that way, I think called a Leash perhaps? Apr 18, 2012An automatic update for my Adobe Acrobat Reader installed today and I lost all capabilities of viewing online PDF's. I can still open ones on my desktop that were previously downloaded. I cannot download/save a PDF from the internet either using Safari. This is the first time this has happened. Should/how can I delete/uninstall Adobe Acrobate Reader and start over?

Apr 19, 2012Three days ago, I stopped being able to download or view pdfs online. The problem persists whether I use Safari or Firefox and with both Preview & Adobe. I have never had this problem before. Now if I try to view a pdf online, I get a blank screen. If I try to download a pdf, I get an error message stating that the pdf cannot be opened.
