An automatic update for my Adobe Acrobat Reader installed today and I lost all capabilities of viewing online PDF's. I can still open ones on my desktop that were previously downloaded. I cannot download/save a PDF from the internet either using Safari. This is the first time this has happened. Should/how can I delete/uninstall Adobe Acrobate Reader and start over?
When I try to open a pdf online, I get a black screen with the address showing at the top of the window (where it should be). I can open pdfs on my iMac with no problem. I can also open the online pdfs with FireFox without a problem. I think this started happening after I installed the latest version of Adobe Reader. I'm running 10.6.8.
When I try to open an adobe file online my internet browser shuts down, and displays an error message stating unexpected error adobe cool type plug in. I'm not sure what they are referring to. I have tried to reinstall adobe with no luck.
I'm trying to save pictures that I find online to my mac but it's saving them as text files. It was working earlier today and it just all of a sudden stopped working. Does anybody know what's going on?
I was wanting to open a .tpf file and I can not find anything to open it. If there is only programs for windows that is fine because I can use them. I just can't find anything on how to open .tpf files.
I have a new MacBook Air. How do I open .wmv files on it? Do I need to purchase 'Flip 4 Mac' for $30, or is there something already available in Lion that will run these files?
Info: MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Upgraded from old, white MacBook
when i tried to click to listen to an audio online, i get this message "the flip for mac plug-in needs your permission to run it".Then i clicked "run" and get this: "Track.php ?QuickTime Player can't open "track.php" because the movie's file format isn't recognized. To see if additional software is available that will enable QuickTime Player to open the movie, click Tell Me More."Â
I have a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHxz Intel Core i7, memory - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 — and I don't know exactly what that means, but, I am trying to open files that were created 7 years ago that are ".cwk" files (word docs) and I haven't found a way to open them.
This week my G5 started getting flaky. (Mac Pro G5, Model 5.1 2x2.4 GHz Quad Core with 24 GB RAM OS 10.6.8) Apps that I've been working with started not saving files, trying to open files not working. If I drag and drop a file on the app icon it will open. Sometimes I get a "Could not Open because of a disk read error" and "Could not save because of a disk read error" message. If I do a shortcut Cmd+S file will save or if I close window with out saving, I get the prompt to "save file...OK" and that works. If I go to Page setup, the dialog box comes up but is blank, with a Settings drop down that doesn't really do anything. I've used disk utility to repair permissions,..several times. I have set up another account and get the same results. It seems to be hitting all my apps. I have run techtool pro and everything it can check is fine. I have Sophos Antivirus on this Mac and it finds nothing.

I have had some trouble lately when downloading DMG files with Safari. In the URL bar I could see it was downloading and then downloaded however nothing happend. Changed to open with DiskUtility didn't do anything. Firewall had no influence. When downloaded with Firefox there was NO problem and everything went fine like it use to do with Safari. So I suspect it is a bug in Safari since this happens with all DMG files of late.
About a week ago, my macbook quit opening internet pdf files. I checked for new software updates but it hasen't worked. No error message shows up, just a blank screen.Â
I have set up the printer connected directly to my imac to be shared. I can see it and add it to my macbook and files print across the network from both Word and Firefox. However pdf files open in acrobat will not print from the macbook.
Tried many searches now but so far I have had no solutions.
I have noticed in the past few times I have had a tap or two opened with something flash on them (youtube, vuze, etc..) and both safari and firefox crashing.
