After importing addresses with the 'gear' and "import vcards", I noticed that hundreds of my contacts weren't there. So I went back to my old Mac Mail and added them into Address Book. I then exported Address Book contacts as a "save as" different name, then imported into iCloud address. Now I have hundreds of duplicate addresses. How do I delete the duplicates?
I have a Mac Mini, iPhone 4s and iPad 2. I noticed in the address book on the Mac there were two of each contact so I deleted one of each. This has wiped the entire address book on iCloud and lost contacts on all devices can I get them back? I expect the Cloud has been erased and that I am not able to retrieve my contacts.
Suddenly my Entourage started an update, more like it was reinstalling, and right after my personal/business email and also my accounts were all erased!
I can see my emails on Finder but when I click on it entourage says "it may have been deleted or renamed".
I lost many important informations about my Job and also my contact list.
Dont know what to do.

When I first got my Mac I wanted to put the applications folder in the dock. But I copied it to the desktop first. And then I realized I didn't need to do that. So I put the folder back into the App folder. Now I want to delete them and I need to know if it's okay. Because they seem to be duplicates...but I'm not sure.
I can no longer add or delete any contacts in Contacts. I am running Mavericks, 10.9.3 and I have an IPhone 5 which is up to date on its software. I have tried having iCloud syncing on and off and still cannot add or delete contacts on my MacBook Pro (brand new; with Retina display). I have looked for a preference file and cannot even find one that seems to be for Contacts. I can remove contacts from my iPhone, and I can sync it with my laptop, but the contacts I deleted on the phone are not deleted on the laptop. When syncing, which I have tried doing both wired and wireless, it takes forever to finish, it if it does at all. I usually let it set at working on step 5 for about 5 minutes before I just click the round "X" and dismiss the sync box.
After upgrading to Yosemite and doing a Clean Install I can no longer delete Contacts nor drag and drop them to a new group. Using OS 10.10.1. Did the latest update.Â
Whenever I try to delete a contact from MSN Messenger, the following comes up. "The server was unable to remove the user "___" from your contact list."
There are hidden duplicates in my iCloud contacts - old ones for contacts where I've updated info. They don't show up in the regular contacts list ("all contacts"), yet they always show up when I enter a name into an email address and in iPhoto's Faces names. I can't change them to the correct names in iPhoto. And I can't find them to delete the old data.Anyone know where these are stored (old contact data that's been deleted or updated)? And, how can I access that place?Â

I have no idea why but I can't delete or edit Address Book entries in Lion. It works fine on the web-based client and from my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 (CDMA). But my Address Book.app in Lion only can view them. I've tried turning off the Address Book function and re-adding it. I made sure all permissions are correct for the address book prefs etc are correct.

I recently archived my icloud contacts to my MacBook Pro. In my contacts it shows a "smart group" with the contacts that I recently archived. I've been trying to delete it and I have no such luck.

I'm on a 17" mid 2010 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.3. When I open contacts and try to add a new contact then click done or save it doesn't save after closing. My entry will only exist until closing, when I open up contacts again it's gone. Also I cannot delete a contact. I thought this built in app could just be deleted and a fresh instal could be downloaded but can't find it anywhere
I have multiple email addresses for the same person in Contacts. When I delete the obsolete addresses in Contacts, they keep coming up in Mail when I type in the person's name in the "to" field.Â
When I make a new contact on my iPhone, my iPhone recognizes it and it syncs and everything, but if I open Address Book on my laptop, it automatically deletes any new contacts I've made. Also, the "Delete Group" and "Delete Card" options in the Edit menu are always grayed out now. Â This has become quite a serious problem as my contacts are disappearing every couple days! Is there any way to reset address book to it's previous state (of WORKING) without losing all my contacts?

I recently noted that after loading a photo DVD onto my MacBook Pro all of the photos had been downloaded into my DOWNLOADS folder and duplicated 4 and 5 times? Instead of the 327 photos on the DVD I ended up with over 800 photos in my DOWNLOADS folder. How did this happen and how do I get rid of the duplicate photos?

I have a new MBP (running Lion) and an older MacBook (running Leopard). I'd like both to run Time Machine to a shared external hard drive which I think I've worked out. My question is whether or not TM will store duplicate versions of the same files (particularly photos, videos, etc.) on the external hard drive, thus using up the EHD capacity more quickly, or will one file be saved and just recognized as being on both computers by TM.
In my launchpad shows two icons of "iPhoto" if you delete one later on, the icon appears again and now I find myself two icons of the same application. why? What should I do. I'm afraid that if I delete both, then I can not re-download the app from the Apple Store.
I erased my bootcamp partition this morning thinking that was the same as deleting the partition - how do I actually delete the partition and combine it with my MAC OS partition now? I can't do it thru bootcamp
I am attempting to erase my Hard Drive so I can start from scratch and the disk utility tool does not allow me to erase. The hard drive is grayed out. I want to reimage my computer, but I cannot use the CD that came with it because it came with Snow Leopard, and I am running on Lion.
