Ok so my bottom left corner of the trackpad doesn't like to register. It only happens when I want to click on it. It doesn't work however when i tap on it. Sometimes it works and other times it doesnt..

Some weeks ago I dropped my MacBook Air (well, actually I couldn�t do anything, my bag was broken so it dropped) and got quite a noticeable dent in the bottom left corner on the screen (outside, you can see the dent while closed). I tried to live with it but with such an expensive machine I can barely do that. So I tried to find a replacement part, the display housing. But - I can�t. I can find replacement LCD displays, replacement housings f�r MacBooks, for MacBook Pros - but NOTHING like that for the Air. Seems like this is Murphys law, eh? This really sucks.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had my 13" unibody Macbook Pro for a few months now and I've loved it, until now. The delete key on my keyboard has almost completely broken. It doesn't pop like the other keys. It's muddy and now unresponsive, working only 1 out of 3 hits. Additionally, my track pad doesn't register every click now. It works at about the same rate, 1 out of 3 or so. Should I take it in to an Apple Store? The nearest one to me is about an hour and a half away.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I try clicking on the trackpad's button, most of the time it will register the press and other times it doesn't. The button, physically, doesn't feel any different whether it registers the click or not. The button "clicks" down like normal and doesn't feel loose. Also, when I click and hold on the button and try to move my finger around the trackpad to highlight text or drag a folder, most of the time, the computer acts like I let go of the button and pressed it down again multiple times. While it does this, my finger remains on the trackpad button without being lifted. I recently upgraded my Mac to Snow Leopard but the problem occurred even with Leopard installed. I'm unsure as to whether or not this is a software or hardware issue. Could it be that there's something lodged under the trackpad button to cause this? If so, how would I be able to check under the button?

I can still use it by finger touch but I can no longer left or right click on it. I have been using a mouse for the past week so that I can right click.

It feels like there is less room for the left button to press down and the right button clicks loudly when I press down on it. Everything still woks in terms of clicking but it's so annoying to have to press down harder than I have to.

I have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a 17" MacBook Pro i7. I have noticed a very buggy sound from the top left corner of my MBP. It sounds like the HDD rotating but when observed carefully, its a some mechanical sound from the logic board (left hand top corner). The sound is comparatively lesser when I switch to 330m gpu using gfxCardStatus. I want to know if this is an issue only with my machine or it a common problem found on the this series of MBP ? Should I contact Apple for a repair or its a normal behavior of Flash on OS X ?

So, I believe my Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz, late 2008 model may have an overheating problem. I'm not sure what specific part it may be, but the computer gets INCREDIBLY hot on the top left corner of the keyboard.
Basically, everything above and to the left of the D key.
I first noticed the problem when I started dual booting recently so that I could play Modern Warfare 2. The game runs gorgeously, but after for a bit (sometimes its 30 minutes, sometimes its two hours) the game will just immediately quit out on me, with Vista popping up with a message that an error occurred.
So, as it froze on me again just now for the same aforementioned reason, I immediately booted back into my Mac partition to check temperatures, and it said my processor was at around 87 degrees Celsius, which, if quick Google searches are to be trusted, is MUCH too high.
On a somewhat related note, I find that my fan will start going to its maximum power for no reason whatsoever at times, like when I'm writing an essay or just checking my email (which I'm pretty sure are tasks that don't require much power.
My Air book just won't unfreeze
I have tried rebooting sevral times but then nothing happens, cursor still remains frozen in left hand corner I tried starting whiling holding shift key but screen went pink and no safe mode came up
On my i5 MBP, at times, when I move the mouse in the top left corner (next to the Apple Symbol) the machine flips out and goes in to restart. Sometimes I get a message about a unexpected error, sometimes not.
I seem to not be able to recreate the problem at will, nor does there seem to be a correlation between what programme is running at the time.
I did a combo install (10.9.3) but this did not solve the problem. Swopped the mouse (silly but, you never know).?
I've just, rather stupidly, spill a sticky drink on my mid-2009 macbook pro. I've managed to dry some of it off and wipe it down but it is still sticky. Nothing went on the keyboard thankfully, but it all went on the trackpad. Now my trackpad feels all sticky and won't register any movement of my fingers. When it does, it only moves a couple of millimeters on the screen and stops again Also, wherever I click, it only registers the right click. Luckily I managed to attach a bluetooth mouse and use that to switch it off. Also, the mouse seemed to jitter and wander when I am not touching to trackpad. Another thing I noticed is that the performance dropped rapidly when I spill the drink.

Also this was working two days ago. If there something I disabled or enabled, how can I fix it or re-trace my steps. I need this to download PSD's for my artwork.
I just bought a brand new Nvidia Macbook White from Amazon. Love it so far. One problem,and I will post a pic, there is a small nick on the top left corner of the casing of the screen. Its noticeable but otherwise the computer is great,no keyboard flex that I can see or any other cosmetic issues. Would it be worth it to go through the whole Amazon exchange for just this issue with no guarantee that the replacement would be any better?

I had to dissassemble my wireless Mighty Mouse to clean it properly, as the trackball was unable to scroll up and down. As I had cleaned the trackball, I attached the two internal cables to their respective "slots" again and assembled the mouse.
Now my right button does the same as the left button (right click = left click). I tried dissassembling the mouse again, but I cannot see what I could have done wrong. After all, there are only two cables to attach and de-attach inside it.
I just bought a mighty mouse, happy as I was, plugged it in and started my ibook running OS X 10.3.9.I know the mighty mouse shouldn't have full functionality (as the software delivered with it is >10.4.2).The problem is that the right click doesn't work right. When I try to right click it sometimes takes the right click, sometimes takes it as a left click (which is extremely annoying in firefox or finder).
I have SteerMouse (I'm a windows/linux user too) installed but when I de�nstalled it the problem remained.
When I plugged the mighty mouse in my pc (at that time running windows) right click just worked.When using a cheap mouse (from pleomax) the right click on the ibook (with Steermouse installed) works all the time.
I find this al really confusing. Seems like it can't be the hardware because it works on windows, but it can't be the software because another mouse does work.
I noticed that when right clicking at the total right side near the "expose-button" (not a position my fingers lay naturally) right click works all the time. I don't hope this is normal?
I'll try and click on a link and nothing, then I click bookmrks in the menu bar, it works, then i can go back and be to click on the link and it'll work.

I just opened iTunes and the window is so big the bottom is cut off so I can't resize the window from the bottom right-hand corner. Clicking the minus just gives me the player controls and "x" of course closes it. The "+" gives me just the player controls. I just want to resize the window so it's say, 1/4 my screen. How do I resize the window when I can't see the bottom corner?

I wanted to change the icon for my HD on the desktop but when I did the get info for the image i wanted to use it wouldnt work. The upper left corner simply shows a jpeg logo image on all my photos! so it wont let me change the icon. I don't know why they are missing.
