I wanna get a messenger bag to carry my 13" Unibody MBP in. I have a black Incase neoprene sleeve already so I don't really need it to be super cushiony. I just want to be able to carry my Macbook, the power cord, and a few accessories like my iPod Touch, Magic Mouse, maybe a notepad and some pens.

So I downloaded MSN Messenger for Mac, installed it, tried to sign in but again it said the same thing!!!how do I make it work?!
I downloaded msn messenger for mac when I got my mac about two months ago.
It stopped working a few weeks ago (not sending/receiving messages) so I deleted it the other day out of my applications window, and tried to re-download a different version of it. When I do this, and try to log in, it tells me that the system cannot log me in. I don't understand if it is just the msn or if I need to completely remove the msn from my computer, and if that's the case, how do I do that?
I want to use MSN Messenger on my MacBook Pro. All my friends use PCs and can chat easily, transfer files and can use the camera too. I can't do any of that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a MacBook a few months ago. I downloaded the Yahoo messenger just fine. I use the webcam when my boyfriend and I am iming. A few days ago, the messenger just "hangs." I just get that little circle and I can no longer view my webcame at the bottom of my screen. My BF says he gets my transmission from the webcam just fine as the messenger menu at the top still works. But it bugs me I can't see the image he sees. Also when I go to photobooth with the messenger on, the camera does not work. There is a camera icon with a line across it. When I sign out of the messenger, the still camera works just fine.

The bag is going to be dual purpose, to carry either my 13" MBP (with SecondSkin) or my DELL 14" work laptop.
The 'true' width/dimensions fit within the Timbuk2 guidelines by about 1CM on both. I emailed Timbuk2 and they said it would be too tight for a medium, but having read all the posts about M fitting a 15" laptop I'm some what confused.

When I try to upload Messenger Mac to my computer (Macbook Pro 2012 OS X Lion) it tells me that it doesn't support it or something along those lines. I've seen people use it before and have no problems. What could possibly be wrong with mine and how could I get it to work properly so that I can use it? It would be great if I could use it.

I downloaded msn mac messenger then it won't sign me in, keeps saying : id or password incorrect. I couldn't fix this bug so I deleted (uninstalled it) by moving all files to trash . now the trash won't empty and it's annoying. is it a bug ? any clue? the trash won't say anything , just the "are you sure" message, then makes the "trashing" sound. but nothings changes.

According to the dimensions listed by apple here, the medium would bag would fit it fine. On timbuk2's site the large says it fits most 17 inch laptops, but the true width is too big. However, the true width on the medium bag would seem to fit. Does anybody use the medium timbuk2 messenger bag for their 17 inch MBP?
I've searched and have found a lot of people using the medium bag for their 15 inch MBP and they say it fits "perfect". Some people mention that they use the large bag for their 15 inch also. The site's specifications would seem to fit perfect with a medium bag, so i'm not really sure. I would prefer the medium bag, but I don't want to waste my money since you can't return custom bags.
I am playing with my new MBP and wanted to know if iCHAT supports talking to buddies from Yahoo Messenger too, just like it does for AIM? I got the AIM one to work, and it says something about something called Bonjour (?) but nothing about Yahoo? Please let me know how to set this up as possible, that way I won't need separate programs for AIM and Yahoo Messenger. PS- Does windows media player have a program for MACs? If not, whats the best program similar to Windows Media Player that I can use to view all the same video types as that?

I heard Adium is a good IM app, but does not support the webcam. Not sure about windows live messenger either.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have read in at least one place in the forum that "any unibody macbook pro can take up to 1TB hard drive". As someone who has upgraded Dells and Thinkpads in the past this would make sense, i.e. Any hdd with same dimensions, access method (SATA?) and same spin speed would be supported.
The reason I ask is that I called Apple UK to have a family member's late 2009 13" unibody upgraded at an Apple store. Apple UK do not undertake hardware work and they directed me to a central London office who do their official repairs, and they said if the max capacity of that model when originally produced was 500GB then anything bigger "might use too much electricity". Would not upgrade beyond 500. Offered me £300 for the old one in exchange for a new mbp. As far as I was aware the bulk of the power drawn was down to spin speed not platter density. Upgrading from 320 to 500 is hardly worth their fee so it looks like a home upgrade.
A replacement to my girlfriend's pre-unibody 2.5Ghz (4,1 with the 8600GT) macbook pro is soon to arrive (thanks Applecare) and I'm really hoping I can just "hot-swap" the old (but newish) 500GB 7200 rpm HDD (bootcamp partitioned ) into the new unibody replacement. Does anybody think this will work? Will there be EFI/hardware issues?

This is as far as my brightness will go up. This is using the keyboard brightness thing on F1 and F2. When I go into the system preferences, I can drag the brightness to the top, but as soon as I release the mouse, it automatically flicks back to where it was before without getting any brighter.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the cause?
The model number of my macbook is A1342 if that helps.
I am thinking about buying a SSD to install in my late 2008 aluminum macbook. Specs are 6GB of ram, 2.4 GHZ processor, and the standard 250GB hard drive which I believe is 5400 RPMs. So my question is, is it worth it? Will I see that much of a performance improvement? I don't reboot that often. I currently am using 92GB of my 250GB hard drive. So I would probably only need like a 160GB or 200GB SSD. Also if I do get one which one would be a good one to get. What should I look for in features.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rarely shut down my PCs, is it okay to leave the Macbook Pro on 24/7? It's a notebook and heat might be a concern especially the fact that notebooks were never meant to run 24/7. Then again, my MBP never gets very hot.
BTW, where is the intake/exhaust vents located on the MBP unibody?
I am comparing the MBA Rev B and the Unibody MacBook 2.4 GHz....has anyone had some experience for with these two computers?
View 11 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed a dead pixel on my MB in same bar where the Apple logo is. When Safari is open the dead pixel is a bit above the 'o' where it says 'History'. and I can't do anything to fix it. Im wondering if applecare will cover this though. My MB model is now discontinued (uni MacBook) so even if I can get an Apple store to take it in would they replace the screen or the machine?

My MacBook Pro started being weird yesterday. First of all the space bar stopped working - it wouldn't respond at all, or it would act like it was being held down, even though it wasn't.
Now it won't sleep - at all. If I close the lid, the light stays solid, dims once, then comes back solid, and the computer turns back on (the Apple logo lights back up etc). If I choose Sleep from the Apple menu with the screen open - the same thing happens, it sleeps for a second, then wakes back up.
I've reset the SMU and PRAM. I can't think of anything else to do.
This computer is currently on eBay and someone has bid �1,400 on it, I don't want to send it away knowing it has a problem.
Just FYI its a 2009 MacBook Pro 17" with built-in battery.
I'm still waiting to get a MacBook because I don't think they should be breaking. I have other plastic laptops that lasted for years and never got a crack/chip once. Why does MacBook? Too much money to spend on something that you can't rely on in my opinion... I was thinking of getting a MacBook Pro but don't really wanna drop an extra 100-200 dollars to get a 500 GB harddrive like I would on the normal MacBook.
