it's been a few days now and it's starting to bother me, now sometimes when I click the trackpad to click on something I have to click harder or multiple times. This doesn't occur with tap to click. I have Applecare, my MBP is 15'' latest model 2.8ghz.

I have tried with an external mouse, the cursor moves around but wouldn't click, so this is not a trackpad issue. Holding down the SHIFT key doesn't work - the Safe Mode won't start.

what do the F5 and F6 keys do on my new 15-inch Macbook Pro?
I've turned whatever it is up and down, but notice no immediate differences.
They basically look like underscores with dots coming out of the top.
When do dead pixels show themselves? If I have a new PowerBook and it has no dead pixels, is there a possibility it will in the future?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the new 15 inch MacBook Pro. I noticed that there is only 1 Firewire 800 port, (same for the IMAC as well). I do video editing and need to plug in a mini-dv video camera and G-Tech Firewire 800 drive into it. I found out that I can't capture video by daisy chaining the video camera into the hard drive and the hard drive into the laptop. Is there anything out there that can split a Firewire 800 port? Through google, I've only found Firewire 400 hubs but haven't come across firewire 800 hubs.

This machine after rebate is $1499 from Mac Connection, which makes it only $200 more than the high end 13. Yes, you only gain the screen on this configuration, but $1499 is an attractive price for a 15. However is this model seen as a bit of an odd model, in that it only has integrated graphics? The user would never play games, so it seems paying for the second graphics card would be unnecessary ? Whereas the benefit of the extra screen real estate, would be nice for them surely.

Completely random- I don't watch a lot of video. typically when booting up and during regular safari usage it will crash- screen goes black and it ready that it did it because of a problem- press a button or wait and it will restart.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook running Tiger. I've been recently hipped to the fact that I can get certain option for lots of apps by pressing option+click when I open a program.
While this seemed to work fine for quite awhile it doesn't seem to be working at all now.
I understand that I need to completely close the program for it to work, but whether I close it with control+Q or by using the drag down menu, option+click doesn't bring up the desired options.
I have been receiving the shut down signal continually every ~6 minutes now for two weeks. Apple care is unable to fix the problem....did the OS reload, and other permissions fixes without success.

I got a Magic Mouse for Christmas this morning and set up with my Macbook Pro. The setup went quickly and well. I was able to move the cursor around my screen with the Magic Mouse.
However, the click buttons don't work. I have tried left and right clicking and nothing happens.
Is there a problem with my mouse or did I miss something in the setup?
I reinstalled Tiger a few days ago, im running the latest version 10.4.11.Since the reinstall when I try to click the 'send file' option in the bluetooth menu, it just doesn't do anything.My bluetooth is working fine with my mouse, but doesn't even recognise that Ive clicked the option when I try to send file.Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I have an i5 27" that came with 4GB RAM (two 2 gig chips). I ordered two more 2 gig chips for a total of 8. When I went to install the two new ones, I followed logical steps. Remove the flexible plastic strip, slide the ram into the slot. However, the ram doesn't click, slide, or pop into place, in any way. I have tried both sides, and I have tried flipping the ram over and doing it backwards. I tried booting the computer with them in there even though they weren't settled in and it froze. I took them out, put the cover back on, and rebooted, and now every time I boot i get a meter that takes forever to fill up. Once booted, the computer does work normally. What am I doing wrong? And how can i fix this painfully long boot process? What have i done.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed the OS Maverick's recent 10.9.3 update on my 15" Retina Macbook Pro. However since then I am unable to use certain features, like when I right-click on the Desktop, the menu bar shows only two possible options. I cannot "clean up" the icons on my Desktop anymore. Futhermore, I cannot right-click on some places at all - in Finder for example, nothing happens when I right-click on blank space. Only when I right-click on the icons itself does the menu bar pop up, and that only if the viewing mode is in list, columns, or cover flow (basically not in the "icons" viewing mode).
If I understand correctly instead of showing the possible actions that you can't do in grey, it's simply not showing them at all? Either way it's really ugly, and the usefull clean up application is gone!

Control-click has stopped working for me in Safari 5's content area.
It works fine when clicking on Safari's toolbars and it also works fine in every other app including Finder.
A complete reinstall of Safari 5 didn't solve the problem.
I tried deleting every preference file and cache file I could find but that didn't help. And fixing various permissions and other things in Onyx had no effect.
Double-click to edit a rule does not respond. It will allow me to create a new rule but I cannot edit it once created. I am using Outlook Mac 2011 Version 14.4.6. My operating system is OS X 10.9.5.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had to dissassemble my wireless Mighty Mouse to clean it properly, as the trackball was unable to scroll up and down. As I had cleaned the trackball, I attached the two internal cables to their respective "slots" again and assembled the mouse.
Now my right button does the same as the left button (right click = left click). I tried dissassembling the mouse again, but I cannot see what I could have done wrong. After all, there are only two cables to attach and de-attach inside it.
