These three fonts ARE in the Font Book, but even if I disable them, they still show up on the drop down menu:Courier CEGeneva CETimes CEI have removed all but five fonts from OFFICE/Fonts. They are: Arial, Monotype Sorts, Rockwell, Times New Roman, Trebuchet MS) Is there another location for Word fonts?

OS X :: Installing Font Onto Mac (from 1001freefonts)?
I went to 1001freefonts and clicked on the Mac download button, and in the 'Downloads' folder (through the Finder) I could see the font, but with the extension .sit. Hmmm. Not sure what that is. I persevered and found where fonts are housed on a Mac (Finder-Library-Fonts) and dragged the font file to the Font folder (as per the instructions here - [URL] but didn't know what he was talking about with the whole suitcase thing.

But nothing happened. I can see the file under the Font folder, but I cannot access the font in PhotoShop or Word. I am assuming I've missed a step (I keep reading about 'unpacking' but I have no clue what that is), but I don't know what that step would be. Do you?

I tried to install the font using Suitcase and I get a warning sign saying that the name of the new font conflicts with that of the Mac OS X System Font that is necessary for reading text. I'm wondering how to get around this...? Can I have both versions of Helvetica Neue installed, or do I have to deactivate the system font?

Pages 09 :: Warnings Occurred On Word Document - Missing Font
Brand new to my first Mac, trying real hard. I just moved a folder of Word docs from my old PC over to Pages on my iMac. Opened the first one from Pages and got message: "Some warnings occurred / review / missing font". So, I set upon the Word doc. Did: select all / changed old Word Helvetica font to my fave mac font / then saved as a pages doc. I still get same missing Font Warning every time I Open Document. This could get old. My first attempt to make this go smoothly was to do the "Paste" of the files as a "Paste and match format", but it wouldn't allow me to do that.

OS X :: Font Options In Safari After Installing Some Downloaded Fonts?
The other night I pulled some fonts that I downloaded a few years ago off of my external hard drive and installed them one by one into Font Book to the User profile. Right after I finished this, I noticed that now about 80% of the text on pages in Safari now appeared as the Yahoo font, instead of what they used to be (I visit about 10 different sites on a regular basis, so there's probably a variety of fonts that normally appear, but now most things appear as the Yahoo font). I don't have any style sheet selected in the Safari preferences, and the font preferences are untouched from what they are when Safari is installed. Not only are a lot of sites now hard to read because of the mess that the Yahoo font around size 10 is, but its just flat out annoying to read that crazy font.

Pages 09 :: Missing Font When Converting A Document From Word To Pages
The problem is that upon opening the file again i get a message saying 'Missing Font - Calibri' and there would appear to be no means of disabling this warning or of curing the cause of it.

Like most people who encounter this, I suspect, I don't care about the missing font, or to acquire it - i just want the warnings to stop and it strikes me as bizarre that Apple would not code in a way for users to disable unimportant warnings.

OS X Leopard :: Font Book Cannot Activates And Deactivates Font Properly?
my Font Book cannot activates and deactivates font properly and other apps react accordingly.Problem is the On/Off label next to each font inside Font Book. Font Book is completely ignoring the correct statues of each font. So it is stuck on a specific label. If a font is deactivated, and I try to activate, it works fine, BUT the label is stuck displaying 'OFF' instead of turning into 'ON'.This seemed like a small issue, until i needed to deactivate a font that says 'OFF'! now I am stuck, since right clicking on it says 'Activate family' while it should say 'Deactive family'! Font book thinks its deactivated while in reality its activated!

Snow Leopard :: Cannot Read Microsoft Word Docs After Installing Snow Leopard?
After upgrading to 10.6 older Word Docs (1998-2004 Word Version) will open but most of the text from the docs in not there. Specifically my wife is a Spanish teacher and her school has a lesson plan template that she used each week to type her lesson plans on. Before upgrading to 10.6 there were no problems opening, reading and printing plans that she created on her laptop at school and sent home or plans she created on the home Core 2 Duo laptop. After upgrading to 10.6 most the text isn't visible, but since she types with a lot of Spanish words the red squiqqley lines are there to show a misspelling but that is all. I thought that if I bought Word 08 that would fix the problem, but no joy, in fact it seems to be worse.
